Here we go ladies and gents, all the pics I have so far. A few close ups for the PPF but otherwise just normal pics visiting friends etc ( mostly so I can show off my car )
-
These are all the pic I've taken so far. The close ups are me literally finding edges for you guys, can barely tell they're there from like 2 feet away unless you know they are there sort of thing I was told the air bubbles will come out in time, usually within the first week as the film expands and contracts due to heat etc The car still shines the same, the only difference is it tends to hold water more than the paint does, but that's fine Please ignore that god awful caravan! It's my GF's neighbours. disgusting thing.

370z passenger window wont go up, and keeps going down!
Mikevv replied to Mikevv's topic in 370z Technical
Thank you ^_^ all fixed. Crisis averted -
Hi guys, got my 370z yesterday and in the dealer we noticed the window was down. They had a fiddle, and it seemed like it cannot go up with the door open. Fair enough. Now comes the issue. Every time the passenger door is opened, the window drops the usual amount, but its consecutive. If I open the door 5 times, its dropped 5 times as much, so now I can see its dropped from the drivers side and its letting wind etc in. Obviously something isn't right It doesnt go up automatically to close the gap either, even the first time. Any idea what is wrong or how to fix it?

I agree, if you look for them you can find some edges, simply around things that cannot be done - Like the front Nissan badge, has been moulded in, so either break it off and get a new one, or just wrap around it If you hate stone chips like me ( one took off the tiniest bit of lacquer... and then that turned into a fist sized patch that was growing daily! ) then its worth it. Especially if you have something like pearl white, or a special colour that cannot be matched equally

List price is £39k!!! "Carpets are extra" **** off. They did offer to fill the tank for me...and I was like... well if I pay for £80 of fuel or go fill it myself... it's still £80... and then atleast I know its high octane not Tesco crap!

Hi guys, I'm after some carpets for my 2017 Nismo, and I don't mind if they aren't genuine Nissan ones. If you know where I can get some made up or anything please let me know, I know they have different eyelet holes etc so I don't know which I need. Nissan offered them to me for £100... I almost fell off my chair. £100 for two carpets??? **** off - The boot one is another £100 odd!!! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew a good reliable source, cause eBay has generic pics and stuff so I can't see what I'm getting Thanks

All finally home about 15 mins ago, been up since 6 am hahaha Had the front of the car covered in PPF, amazing job by the guys at Racebydesign. Anyways pics will be up tomorrow, but unfortunately I can't wash the car for 48 hours due to the PPF. Now, time to relax, and enjoy the fact I have a beautiful car home safely ^_^

I finally got the car home, and I can say I'm irritated. It's so bloody good I almost can't see the PPF. On a serious note, I'm ecstatic The finish is almost like factory paint, granted it will always be slightly noticeable if you're looking for it, but I really struggle on the pearl white. The guys down at Racebydesign did an amazing job. Service was fantastic, answered any and all questions I had, and gave me peace of mind. I will be driving up there again in the future for my window tints and roof wrap. I will post pics in the morning ( I'm not allowed to wash the car for 48 hours just to be sure ) but you'll see what I mean For anyone who wants to know, the final cost to do the front bumper full bonnet and wings was £1020. The team were so accommodating for me, as I drove from Bournemouth area up to Worthing, then to racebydesigns ( another hour from the dealer ) they took the car at around 12:30 but only started work a bit later due to other odd jobs that needing finishing on other cars. I told them I couldn't leave the car over night and they said while we prefer it, we can work around that. They worked until near 8:30pm!! Work is flawless, manufacturer backed with warranties etc, top guys too. They come highly recommended by me, and like I said the work will be shown tomorrow in pics so you can be the judge.

Something like this? Thats bloody perfect. Exactly what I wanted! Thanks buddy!

I'm not a fan of the diamond cut look, so asked a friend to photoshop a pic for me. Here's the result I really want to play with plastidip colours, the other half suggested red like the Nismo stripes, but I think it might be chavvy... he says with gold wheels... Play with random colours and show me what you get

The new one comes out next year, so may as well wait for that. I drove one twice. I loved it the first time, was excited and enjoyed it. Then the 2nd time I took it out with the GF to be more objective.... needless to say, I don't drive one. The clutch was crap - no feel. The brakes would put you through the windscreen if you even glance at then funny - over boosted IMO. I don't know I just didn't seem to like it the 2nd time out. Found it all a bit sloppy. Gearbox wasn't great cause I found it a bit loose and wobbly, and it really does not feel like a 400+ BHP car, felt lethargic. Ride was a bit wallowy for where I went, but it might just be the roads were too smooth hahaha What I'm saying is drive it once, then think about it for a while, make a list of what the car HAS to have/do then go drive it again and look for these points. Also, its a big car. like seriously feels big coming from a 350z to that

TORQEN is doing a deal with AAM for RHD twin turbo kits, here's the thread. http://www.350z-uk.c...-twinturbo-kit/ Hopefully that might help IGNORE ME I'M AN IDIOT. ITS FOR HR NOT REVUP!!! SORRY!!!!

Cool, that's what I'm after. Again with the Qashqai I'm always turning the lights off in the morning as when we park it at night we leave the lights on, they turn off when the keys removed right away and turn back on in the morning when the key is turned. Surely this is just the reverse of what we do? Park at night, turn the lights off, then you don't need to turn them off in the morning?
-
As far as I know you have to go through the terrible process of twisting the knob It only works for cars with auto lights, which didn't come on the 350z

I have checked with the manager of the branch, he has assured me that PPF is fine, and as the black roof is really not needed I didn't want to confuse him any more than the PPF did - He thought it was like a ceramic coating! I will check on collection and get it in writing if I can wrap the roof/carbon dip interior bits etc - If not, I can wait ( hopefully ) until the balloon fee and then get it all done, make me fall in love all over again The car has stretched me pretty thin so I won't be doing any crazy mods like new exhaust or anything like that, its a brand new car, I will only "mod" things when they break, if Nissan wont fix it under warranty

My invoice states the following Basic price £31350 Factory fit accessories £479.17 ( Pearl Storm White ) Retailer allowance £2342.50 Sub total £29486.67 Accessories £0 Delivery £0 Sub total £29486.67 VAT £5897.33 R.F. License £1700 New Reg Fee £55 Supplemental £0 Total price £37139 So the RFL is definitely used for taxing the vehicle? Just trying to double and triple check
-
I got an email yesterday confirming my reg, and the car will be ready to be collected this Thursday GY17AUV - not the best plate, and I couldn't choose any others. My question is how can I check if I am the first owner etc? I've never bought a brand new car, so I don't know how this works apart from checking the V5 ( I don't know if I get one cause its a PCP ) I paid the road fund license, does this count as the vehicle being taxed? The new rules confuse me. The way he explained it to me was I pay the RFL and then the tax is £140 a year, but he didn't say if that included the first year or not. I tried to ask but he said we can sort it on Thursday -.-
-
Sorry mate, they aren't, I figured I couldn't use them or be bothered to try and sell JiZ has them as I gave them with the sale of my 350z - They are on the dolphin website for £50 new however so you can try there?
-
I saw the Roseblack, thought I can maybe try and get a match on the Nismo red, but worried it would be a bit much
-
Hi guys, as you all know I get my Nismo soon ( Thursday ^_^ ) but I was wondering if anyone had a white 370z with a gloss black roof? I don't quite get the reason people do it, having never seen a car in person with a different coloured roof, bar the M3 with a carbon roof. Does it make the car look lower or something? I'm debating getting my roof wrapped black in the future, but I want to see what it looks like first. Can anyone help? I've posted in the photoshop thread but no luck yet - which is fair, the poor guy is constantly bombarded with requests! If you have any pics post em up or if anyone is local to me can I come see your cars? Cheers - Excitement is finally setting in
-
No not at all buddy, I agree, saving up would be the better option, but I gottta make do with what I have, and draw the line somewhere hahaha Pics a plenty on Friday the 14th

I've decided it's definitely worth doing after seeing the self healing properties, and albeit promotional stuff, videos of stones being flung into it etc ( the main reason I want it ) Now my old car was peppered by stones, driving through forests all the time and road trips through Welsh countryside etc... so I wanted to avoid it, and this seems to do the job The company is called racebydesign, and this is a direct quote for what I'm being sold on "Kit Includes (Xpel Ultimate Self-Healing Protection Film) • Clean vehicle/de-grease and remove any sealants from areas where protective film will be applied. • Full Front Bumper, • Full Bonnet, • Full Wings, To have option 2 Coverage with Xpel Paint Protection Film kit supplied and installed is £850 + VAT, Regarding time scale we would need the car for one full working day and to keep it overnight for it to be collected in the morning. This is on the basis that the car gets dropped to us around 9am in the morning. Please Note. if you are having any paint work done you will need to at least have 5 days to allow the paint work to flash off before we install any paint protection film. Warranty: The Xpel warranty Automotive Paint Protection Film (Film) will be free of defects in material and manufacture for ten (10) years from date of original purchase. We are an approved factory trained installer of Xpel Paint Protection Film. The warranty covers defects in the material and workmanship. This is the list of defects which the warranty covers – - Yellowing, - Staining, - Cracking, - Blistering, - Delamination, The film is self-healing. The film shouldn’t allow any stones to go through so they wouldn’t need to close up. what you would find is the majority of the stones would hit the film and deflect off and not cause any problems to the paint. If there are majorly big stones to hit the film it may mark the film but if you leave the car out in the sun or pour boiling water the mark should disappear or get remarkably better. If you have any scratches in the film these will also come out with sunlight or hot water. The self-healing process is up to a point, so if you graze the car on a wall or a brick falls on the bonnet from a lorry it most probably won’t be able to self-heal but will take the brunt of the damage instead of the paintwork. Many Thanks" I don't think they will be detailing the front beforehand judging by that statement, but I have seen their work ( again pictures not in person ) and it's hard to spot the film. I think I will be hard pressed to find someone who can do the entire front of my car with a detail for around £1000 I get the "save up and get the best" mentality , but to save up another £1000 I'd already have stone chips and crap by the time I have teh cash, so its a compromise.

I remember hearing about this from one of the Mclaren higher ups who if I remember rightly worked at Mini back then? Was in a MR JWW video
