  1. From one n00b to another, welcome As for your mods, the Cobra seems to be the most popular exhaust, and the most lusted after seems to be the Invidia Gemini. Probably going for the Cobra myself, just not sure on Resonated or non-resonated. I'm kinda fond of my ear drums and sanity.
  2. I'm planning on getting a Nav as well, but have decided to remove the Bose stereo and get an android unit (something like this) Then install Waze on it, which is probably the best Sat nav I've ever used - Crowd Sourced real-time information, something that beats TomTom and Garmin by a long shot. Although I'm pretty handy installing stereos, I'm going to pay an ICE installer to install it. Shouldn't be much more than 50 squid.
  3. What he said. Take the belt off and run for a very short time. Or could be incorrect timing, but unlikely with it being chain. Or leaky manifold.
  4. Good idea, that didn't occur to me actually.
  5. Can't really hear a whine in that mp3
  6. Hooking them up to a spare battery won't tell you much, as the starter isn't under an load. best just chop the starter in for a refurbed or new one.
  7. Check the Crank Amps on the battery. When I was shopping for a Z I saw a few with 300ish CCA. Good for a Saxo, way too low for a V6. But yeah, rock the car in gear and that can free up the starter.
  8. Why not go one higher, maybe fit a longer clevis?
  9. Before I bought mine, a friend said to me that they're fast, but they don't feel it. Having now bought one, I agree. maybe it's the smoothness of the V6 power delivery, I'm not sure.
  10. Can't comment on the hard top, not owned one. But I love my roadster. solid, no squeaks or rattles. clings to the road almost as good as my Fez ST did.
  11. To be fair, I bought a Z with a gearbox problem, though I didn't realise it until the drive home. The dealer replaced the box and the car is sweet, was a shame to write it off over the box as it's a real minter. If you can factor in the cost of a box, to the purchase price, and you're getting an exceptionally good deal. I'd go for it. As long as that's all that's wrong with it. It was a real chore finding a good box for mine though.
  12. Great guide, my clutch is so high I use my hand. Cheers!
  13. Followed your guide up to a point, then put an female Aux in instead. A little more adaption needed to the PCB and chassis, but nothing major. Cheers buddy
  14. Walk away. So many Z's out there, why buy a problem.
  15. Never go to Halfords. They put at least a 25% markup on everything. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-Genuine-Osram-D2R-XENARC-66250-35W-4300K-24-h-DISPATCH-66250-85126-/291036328781?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43c31df34d
  16. Usually, unless one of you come forward as injured, they leave it at that. otherwise, they'll investigate it more thoroughly.
  17. Ah ok, so no real cure. Just have to adapt to it I guess Thanks guys
  18. So you indicate to turn, make the turn and the stalk returns to neutral. Mine does it sometimes, most times not...so I find myself driving around with my indicator on sometimes. I've never owned a BMW so it is an issue for me. Many many years ago I had this problem on a Ford, it was a simple case of removing the steering wheel and replacing the circular thingymejig. Is it a similar method for the Z? do any of you guys have this problem?
  19. From the album: My Z

  21. Good old T-Cut and SRP
  22. Imo no as they will fail the emissions check. Good to know. Cheers
