  1. They were my thoughts witth the Vreds having had them on the 370.....but then I changed to MPSS and they are in a different league altogether as the grip, wet or dry, only made me wonder why I had not changed earlier. I'll give them a try when they're due a change
  2. Vredestein ultrac sessanta on mine. Awesome grip in wet and dry. Look comparable to the MPSS for scores though. Vredestein look better though
  3. I park at the furthest reaches of that car park..unless I'm in the works Ford Focus lol. Work on the assumption that everyone is a moron. You'll be reet
  4. Today about 16:15 With a 350z-UK sticker in the side window. Invidia exhaust maybe?
  5. They could easily keep the car for a couple of days, then tell you they removed it, when in reality they didn't touch it. I'd put a couple of stealthy scratch marks on a few bolts to see if they've actually been undone. I worked in the motor trade for 20 years, private and dealerships, hence my healthy cynicism.
  6. Logically: It's lightweight plastic, so will float, not sink. And it'll get churned up by the gears, then chewed up over time. I would imagine it's entirely possible for it to get jammed between the gears shunting back and forth. I'd want it out of there.
  7. Looks like the Z was too pricey for him anyway. I'm not disappointed. A Skyline or S14 would be nice, but I do love the Z.
  8. Hi Guys, Can anyone recommend a good gearbox specialist located in North West England/ North Wales? Everyone I check the reviews on seem to suck. Or Nationally if they do pick up/deliver Cheers EDIT: Dammit, wrong forum. Can a mod move this to 350Z please?
  9. The MPG on the Z is only a hair less than the Mk6 Fiesta ST ST on Motorway you could get 44mpg, but 36ish was more reasonable. Around town 20 was about right. Floor it for single figures. Not bad for a 3.5 V6 v's a 2.0 Duratec
  10. You and 99% of the country agree. But we don't work in the whacky world of insurance. A world that refused to insure my car if it had heated leather seats, but would, if it didn't. It's a magical place, full of mystery.
  11. I can definitely relate to that Ekona, I think most people here could. That's why we bought 350Z and not justanotherbmwaudi.
  12. Definitely an icon, would like to buy one before they balloon in price as classics. Good idea on the compression test too. I'll make that a condition.
  13. Theres a lower model than the GTST with a non turbo engine. Personally, I'd never trade a Z for a GTST and certainly not in a straight swap. Most GTST's will have been beaten half to death also so finding a good one is hard There is the GTS (non turbo) GTST rear wheel drive 2.5 turbo GTR 4WD 2.6 turbo As above, without knowing what Zed you have, I suspect you should be looking for the GTST plus cash from the guy - that said, GTST prices are rising quickly at the moment, the one I had which was in great condition, no rust, 79k miles is worth around £6.5k I would say Yeah, I'm looking at his car and 3k to make the deal good. Thanks for all that info mate, it helps a lot. As long as it's as well cared for as he claims, and it passes those points you mention, I may consider a deal. But I do like the sound of the GTR you mention.
  14. Ah ok, interesting. Do they hold their values if looked after, or are they destined for non classic status and the floors the limit, regarding prices
  15. Good morning guys I've been offered a 1995 Skyline R33 GTST Spec 1 in part ex for my Z Roadster. I've always liked the Skylines but know little about them. What i do know is that when I do deals like this, I usually end up picking the worst model of whatever deal I do. Looks very clean and looked after. I love the shape. Can anyone fill me in on what they're like to live with?
  16. For what it's worth, I think you should go for it. It'll be a really interesting discovery whatever the outcome. The naysayers have some good points, but we're British, and doing stupid @*!# is how we conquered the world. I saw some guys put an Z20LEH engine (Astra VXR) in a Fiat 500. Everyone said it was stupid and it wouldn't work. It works and it was an awesome idea! /2 cents
  17. Only one real cure for metal cancer. Cut it out, weld a new piece in. But yeah, if mine rusts, it's going up for sale.
  18. Put a bottle of Wynns Stop Smoke in. If that stops it, then it's most likely worn stem seals
  19. Exhaust sounds sweeeet. What is it Chris?
  20. Is there an emergency boot release for the Roadster? Never found one. Yeah, I removed all the trim from my boot and found it. Seems a bit of a pain to get to if you have the trim in the way.
  21. Good find. great when it's a cheap fix. And yeah, the smoke will be the oil burning off.
