  1. The 350GT skyline is basically a 350z with rear seats if that's any use to you. Same engine and drivetrain. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/111268-for-sale-skyline-350gt-2003-very-good-condition-nice-mods/page__fromsearch__1
  2. My advice is to toss the Bose system. It's genuinely not all it's cracked up to be. Replace it with a double Din system of your choice. You can buy the fascias, looms and connectors here: https://incartec.co.uk/nissan/1929/1036/device/radio/Browser.aspx First thing I'd do would be pick a new head unit - I have a Pioneer system that has onboard GPS/Satnav, uses Apple Carplay / Android Auto and the interface is seamless. If you're just after music and radio there are a lot of good deals. I'd highly recommend getting a unit with Satnav though, as even if your Z comes with the built in system, it's utter garbage.
  3. I think this might be your issue. How many miles in total was the car run on 10W40? Also, what's the total mileage on your car? There's a thread on here ATM where the owner of a 200k mile 350z has mentioned increasing the weight grades of his oil as the engine went through the miles.
  4. OK... First off, how long has it been running 5W40? If it's been a significant time / mileage I'd swap back to 5W40 as soon as you can. There's a possibility that your engine has bedded in with thicker oil and by reducing your viscosity there's a lot more play between components. Low oil pressure would also be one of the symptoms of using oil that's too thin. Not trying to scare you but find out ASAP what it's been getting serviced with and for how long.

    The 200k Club!

That's very, very impressive - it's been regularly touted how strong the VQ family of engines are when they are well looked after but it's rare to see them make it to the grandest of milestones (no pun intended) Have you noticed any issues with the car on its journey to 200k? I assume its not as spritely as it once was? Congratulations!
  6. Reading that my350z link, they are referring to the material of the oil pumps internal components, not the chain, crank or any other external mechanism. If the oil pump is at fault, replace the oil pump? I presume he's stuck a proper hydraulic gauge on the engine to confirm the cluster gauge isn't at fault? I know the HR's & VHR's suffer from oil gallery gasket failure - has this been ruled out?
  7. Yep definitely plus you have to remember the equipment they were using back then to do this stuff. Hoover can't reverse the flow either, but then why would you need to! Severn Barrage is a project I'd like to see happen.
  8. Love stuff like this. Dinorwigs penstocks are bigger but for the time, that was cutting edge!
  9. "Celebrity" is such a catch all term. Oh, you cured Polio? You're a celebrity. Shagged someone on Big Brother? You're a celebrity. Three folk I'd go for a beer with - 3 people who are actually interesting and not just c@nts on the TV. Two of whom are dead. Chuck Palahniuk. Iain Banks. Lise Mietner. If you have to Google the last name, you're a monumental bellend and a terrible human being.
  10. That's around the right price, have to be a bit special to justify anything more for a DE - something like Jeff's Gengar (But he's not selling) . You should come along to a meet once the weather improves :-)
  11. Welcome to the forum OP. Do you have a wishlist (colour, trim, aero) & potential budget for your 350z purchase? Are you after the early engined 276bhp, facelift model 296bhp or HR engined 308bhp versions? We do have a fairly big community & I'm sure there's something that will peak your interest in our Zeds for Sale section. Welcome again.
  12. The white Zed. The black Zed. The 500, the abarth, the 380, the celica. Zero imagination in my house. Before she met me the missus called her yellow Micra "Bumblebee"
  13. His name is Rory Burton, from Edinburgh. Messaged me about selling my 380RS the same week I got it so didn't bother replying to him - I got like 5 other similar messages from other randoms but he at least introduced himself. The car looks mint & think he's well within his rights to ask as much for it as he can. 400hp is not to be sniffed at, either.
  14. My point is that Scotland more than pays its way in the UK. If you're trolling for a debate on the pros and cons of Scottish Independence and what constitutes "Oil Revenues" start another topic on the matter.
  15. Money gets wasted? A population with 5m and 98% of the oil & gas in the North Sea. If you believe the rubbish that Scotland is a financial drain on the rest of the UK, why did the UK media lie, cheat and scheme so hard to get a no vote 2 years ago? If we were such a burden we'd have been cut adrift a long time ago. FYI. Scotland's EEZ i.e where most of the UK's oil and gas for the next 30 years is coming from.
  16. I didn't particularly want to become a landlord - indeed I shelled out a lot of money completely renovating my old flat (heating, glazing, new front door, kitchen, bathroom, dining room, lounge, bedrooms, the lot) before I met the Missus. As she had her own house as well, when it came to buying a house together we fell foul of the LBTT supplementary charge on having more than one property, so got royally screwed. Sure, we could have sold our houses, but the way the market is at the moment we would have lost a shed load of money on what we spent improving our homes (important distinction HOME) so our only alternative is to rent our places out short-term until we can decide whether being a landlord fits with what we want to do long-term. If Aberdeen's housing market improves significantly in 18 months there's a slim possibility we will get the "additional dwelling supplement" portion of our LBTT back & pay naff-all in capital gains tax (not that I can envisage either turning a profit, mind you) but that hinges on the POO heading significantly further north than 60USB/BBL. I daresay the POO has very little impact on the house-prices of other regions - except maybe Norwich? Does anyone know?
  17. With the greatest of respect thats not really accurate, no-one can offer a guaranteed return on the stockmarket otherwise we would all be at it. What part of my statement guaranteed a return? I added a caveat deliberately.
  18. I was lucky enough to tie a load of money into a 5% ISA for 5 years before all the rates went flat. Matured last year and I bought a new house with the missus with it. I've since started investing in stocks and shares given they have a much better return if you know what you're doing. Keeping the high growth shares in an ISA is the smartest move over the long run, means HMRC can't touch you if you end up getting 8x back what you invested. I don't think we'll ever see the return of 15% interest rates. We are more likely to follow Japan and have zombie banks that are so crippled with bad debt they can't ever hope to repay it all. That's like 25 years now the Japanese have lived with it.
  19. Subconsciously we all know what 30, 40, 60 etc looks like when we are stationary as those are common speeds to encounter at junctions - it's why we sometimes instinctivly know when someone is speeding without having a radar gun on us. If you apply the same subconscious perception of speed to a car passing you when you're doing 60, you can guesstimate the speed they are doing - it's never going to be blob on but will be in the ballpark.
  20. At the risk of sounding like a recalcitrant child. IT'S NOT FAIR!

I used to own a Zed

Bandwagon Jump: Enabled I had an '03 Version S import in silver A Satin black Vinyl wrap & some genuine Wedssport SA55M wheels later it looked like this; Technically, I owned two Zeds at once at one point - it was the right decision to sell though.
  22. I found the Nismo S-Tune Exhaust on the 380 to be very, very quiet - hence why I gave Chris at Tarmac a big dollop of my hard earned lootz this year for a set of HFC's. Hopefully they make a difference.
  23. Merry Christmas to you and yours everyone. This year I'm unlucky enough to be keeping the lights on so my back to backs get to spend it at home with their families, so work as usual for me haha! Be of good cheer & I hope you have a splendid new year when it comes :-) Gary
  24. Whatever you do, don't be tempted to knock the TCS / VDC off. You'll end up in a ditch or worse trying the same trick again. Fair warning. Incidentally, what diameters are you running front and back?
