The cone intakes look and sound nice. Really, the VQs aren't great engines if you want to bolt on a couple of bits and see a good power gain. I'm planning to do a NA build at some point if funds allow, but realistically the HR is a pretty well optimised engine, so if you want a noticeable power gain you need to plow large amounts of cash into it. Like I said, until you're ready for financial and possibly emotional turmoil, just go with an exhaust that you like the sound of, some drop in air filters and an UpRev remap. The remap will give you nicer throttle response rather than a big power gain though.

That does look like a very tidy e36. Credit is due for the work that's clearly gone into it

Yeah, only good for the DE because on the HR they sorted the intake side of things.

For that much power you're looking at turbo / SC and forged internals, which is big bucks. I'm not sure that adding an upgrade here and there is a good approach to that goal either, because if you want to end up with 600bhp it will be a comprehensive rebuild, so probably best to save up and do it all in one go. Edit: beaten

On the intake side I believe there aren't any gains to be had unless you've got deep pockets. Get a nice exhaust and a remap

Yes, it's nonsensical. I won't try to debate which side has come out with more rubbish, but they've both had their fair share. If she was basing her position on that figure previously then she should just resign TBH. The best possible explanation I can think of is that she's been given hints of good career prospects if she switches sides, only because I can't think of another logical reason.

I never had hayfever that bad, but I used to get pretty nasty attacks in the summer after a bike ride. Like within a minute of finishing, my eyes and nose would go mental. Now take off the shelf stuff and that's sorted all but the odd sneezing fit.

Thanks Payco, yeah I've seen pics of yours and one or two others with it done, and it does look pretty cool. I'm not too sure that I want to deviate from standard in terms of bodywork though.

Well the kind of person who does this isn't someone who appreciates working hard to get what you want in life. I understand the anger, but just be thankful that you're not one of those people and leave them to it. Backwards types like that get their comeuppance sooner or later
