Just one thing after another. Replacing a bottom end isn't as simple as replacing the bottom end. It's that and up to circa 5/6k of added extras. Possibe complete valve train replacement needed New oil/water pumps/tensioners/timing chains All sorts. Then your 3k in labour at least. Then your 600 at leat dyno time. 2k engine management. Bigger fuel pump. Will get all the parts together (suspension, wheels, brakes, injectors, paint - all of it) in the meantime and make it a complete project early next summer. Just need to save an addition 15 - 20k.

*canned until next summer*

I remember an SR20DET micra which had close to 400 hp iirc. I'd like one with an SR16VE in all nicely set up. That'd be so much fun.

That's the new Peugeot anti overtaking device in action.

Humans. Scum. -
Shouldn't she be polishing something else of yours?

I always just let people out/pass/etc. I didn't notice additional kudos from other drivers when I had my Z.

good 350z specialists in the north of england?
TT350 replied to nharrison2012's topic in 350Z General
They won't offer any services for my Z after the turbo conversion. Think they've washed their hands of non-Honda cars although you'll be fine with a basic exhaust, plenum, filter, Uprev. -

Hi Callum. Enjoy your stay! -
KLM do, via Amsterdam Thats probably a little optimistic, particularly when the flight will be £1000+ A top end villa is around 300 a night. I'd there's 10 of you sharing thats 30 a night. You could get a flight to Florida then to CuaraCao a lot cheaper than direct. Anyway, was just trying to help

You should pop round to mine sometimes Matt. Just off the motorway.

What does it feel when you pushed the car to the limit?

I'd like this when I have it back on road. -
Rent a Villa in Curacao in the carribean. It's absolutely beautiful. Flights from Florida (they don't fly from here) are cheap and you can spend a week there if she loves Disney. It's about 4 hour flight from Florida. Here are some you can rent. Between 10 of you if you take guests you're looking at about 25 quid a night each and if your guests just want to show up for the Curacao bit instead of the Florida bit theyll have a cheap carribean holiday. https://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRentals-g147277-Reviews-Curacao-Vacation_Rentals.html

What does it feel when you pushed the car to the limit?
TT350 replied to Banz's topic in 350Z General
hah, can't help it. Please bear in mind that I'm just learning how to drive a car properly. Never in the past have I ever driven a car to it's limit. Was always a fairly safe driver. So this is all very new to me! I really think you should go to a track and be given race lessons as if you've only just learned to drive and you're already in a powerful rear wheEl drive car, being taught how to handle (not just drive) a car close to its limits will really benefit you. You'll have so much more fun afterwards. Ideal fast car for you to have first and build confidence in would be Honda Civic VTI. You'd get to LOVE thrashing that. -

Oh dear. AnoThere's post like this from you Banz. It still really does sound like you're completely disconnected from your car somehow or the car is seriously impared somehow. Accelerating round a roundabout and exiting it and the steering becomes light usually is something you'd experience in a front wheel drive car. I don't know how you were nearly on the edge or felt like you were on the edge exiting a roundabout in 3rd. In the dry. Maybe if you slingshot round it and exit in high 1st or 2nd then totally plant it. All the best. -
What have the Greeks done now?!

Just keep driving it and make sure everything is tip top with regards to tyres, suspension and geometry. Like others have said you should increase the pressure in the tyres too. Once you're 100% that the vehicle is safe then you can increase in confidence in yourself. You'll soon get used to the cockpit. Do try and avoid potholes. Easy to overlook in a 4x4 as they just arent an issue. Also try and grab a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

Im concerned about your apparent lack of driving skills and your complete lack of confidence in the car and yourself. Even in heavy rain, my Z always felt stable and planted at national speed limit on the motorway. Why do you think that if you turn traction control off you're going to be reduced to doing 360's instantly? Just don't plant your foot in lower gears and you'll be fine. It's not a suicide button. Common sense is far safer than traction control. You'll sit at exactly 77 mph but 78 is suddenly too dangerous? And you were scared to take your Z on the motorway? You sound like a 90 year old lady. The Z is great at high speed. It's heavy, it's wide and low. Aquaplaning is dangerous in any vehicle but again, common sense. Ease off the gas slowly. Keep both hands on the wheel. Don't jam the anchors on and swerve. Simple. But again, because the Z is heavy and stable, aquaplaning isn't as unpredictable as in say, a Micra which will literally just float on the surface and be flung around. It sounds like there may be something wrong with the vehicle if your wheel is snapped out of your grip going over a small pothole. So I don't know wether it's your lack of confidence or skill or that the vehicle is somehow unstable.

I did ask but £2300 just for engine management *sobs* I'll have to save another years worth before I drop it off there lol. I would like to though but really want my Z back on the road this summer. Others have mentioned Link G4 which is much cheaper. I'll email Jez and see what he says.

TT350 your in the north west? wouldn't mind having a look at this twin turbo build if you’re at a meet. Looking to go down that same route myself very soon might have some questions for you Just been look at that Link management ECU, looks really good. Yep NW. Of course, happy to speak to all about the TT kit. Let people have a go etc. Link G4. Yeah probably the route I'm about to take. Feel free to ask any questions. I don't know wether I'm the only TTZ owner in the NW for you to have a look at/experience. I would definitely go for it if you're having any doubts. It's such a transformation. -
Tv's. Tv(s) TV in the GYM. Most people it's like "can we afford to upgrade THE tv" Tread carefully my friend. She may be cooking some dastardly plot! Lol.

Things feel a bit stagnant. Nothing is moving. It's hard work to get tuning companies to reply. And with a straight answer/quote. I know they're busy which is a good sign but it's frustrating. Originally got the Turbo kit installed at TDi North in Warrington. Which is a lot closer than most of the tuning companies. Nissan ones anyway. But, after fitting the kit they seem to have washed their hands of me and aren't willing to do any more work on my Z. They said they wouldn't be able to do something like fit the bottom end. I know they do a lot of race cars and varied projects of all marques. Their website even says they do FI conversions on 350Z and if you have a big project in the pipeline then to let them know. Now they say they can't even dyno my car. Shame as they are a good bunch of highly skilled mechanics. Waiting to hear back from Mark at Abbey. Hopefully hear something soon. One interesting development or rather, discovery is that a company I'm very familiar with, Norris Designs, have on the quiet been doing a lot of work and R&D on 350/370Z and have added them to their repertoire. The site used to list Evo's and 180/200sx and Pulsar. You may have seen them on a Top Gear episode. They got the world speed record for towing a caravan in their SWB Evo that had 800 ish bhp. They now do a twin charge conversion on Evo's which I net is crazy. Been emailing Simon there and he's said just tell him the work needed to be done and he'll put an approximate quote together quickly. Bottom end currently still down south. Perhaps once I have a scheduled appointment with a tunin company I'll get it sent there.
