  1. Cyclists riding side by side are easier to overtake than when they ride one in front of the other, as your TED is halved. You give a cyclist as much space as you would a car anyway, so really it makes no difference. If the road isn't wide enough to overtake a car on, then I would agree that common sense would dictate that the cyclists do drop back into single file to let you pass, but again you have to think about whether the overtake is safe to carry out if the road is that narrow. Well if there are parked cars on either side and on coming traffic, it makes it a tad difficult. They'll be there talking to each other as they casually trundle along completely remorseless of the 760 mike tailback they're causing.
  2. That's where hers are. Weird that I've not seen you around there! No I didn't go in the end. Maybe this month!?
  3. I hope that's a Maris Piper potato. The king of chipping potatoes IMO. Peel a large one per person. Cut into 1.5cm thick chips. Par-boil the chips until juuuust getting soft on the very surface. Too soft and they'll just break up. Remove and let them dry and cool in the fridge. Get a good old fashioned chip pan and bung in about 4 blocks of lard. Put then pan on and when you think it's hot enough throw a chip in and if it sizzles straight away then put the rest in until golden brown. Best chips ever. Nice Z.
  4. They're quite an angry bunch aren't they, cyclists. They do make me quite angry. The way they swerve around as they pedal. Insist on riding in the middle of the lane as slow as possible. Worst is when you get 2 cycling side by side not giving a solitary f*@k that no one can get by. Then when you can overtake and look absolute daggers at them they look at you like "f*@ks your problem?! You want some?!" If only life was a game of GTA. PS: if theyre hot and wearing lycra I do not mind being behind a lady cyclist.
  5. Funny how you get a thread saying "my 350 can't pull away from a Fiat 500" then "not much in it between a Z and an E46 M3"
  6. In laws live in Whitefield near the new Merc garage.
  7. Fantastic pics There's just something magical about Spitfire design I believe they did it to halt the rise of mindless right wing lunatics, hell bent on domination and oppression of other people, for no reason other than them being of a different country, race or religion. Well yes and thank god they did. But I'm sure the individual at the time fought for Britain and what it meant to be British. If they'd have known how it'd turn out 75 years down the line I doubt they'd have been as solid in their convictions.
  8. If you put a turbo or two on your Z you will transformificate it
  9. There's only about 25bhp/ton in it between scirocco and Z. A Z will always turn more heads and sounds infinitely better than a turbo 4 pot
  10. Makes you wonder why they gave their lives when you look at the mongrel nation we are now. But then again were a global community now. Still it's a shame everything they gave and everything that was invested to make Britain great is all for nothing now as anyone is allowed in to use/abuse the country.
  11. I always set CC to 60mph on long journeys. Recline the seat right back, heated seat on, Jazz FM on.

    I got my Zed!!!

I really love this colour. Apart from black it was the other one I wanted. I never wanted a grey one lol but that's what I have. Congratulations on your new pride and joy.
  17. I don't know if your Z is forced induction or not, but going FI on the Z really changes it's characteristics. It really overcomes that 1550kg inertia and the change in power delivery while still smooth (with my kit anyway) is much more explosive. I'm probably just stating the obvious. But what I mean is, it sounds like you enjoyed the power of the GTR but prefer a more tactile and visceral car like the Z. I think the Z really suits being FI or rather the 100 or more extra horses and torques.

    What a beast..

A car that didn't look like a breeze block, had power you could actually use on the road and didn't have a torque curve that looks like Everest? Those are minor details
  19. Many bags of Haribos. No red bull. Caffeine will perk you up temporarily but then you'll crash. Plus it's a diuretic. Peepee galore. Cold water. Maybe a bottle of lucozade too for the glucose to keep your brain sharp and water to hydrate properly. Comfy clothes a must. As comfy and slob like as you can handle to be seen in public wearing. Download an audio book to listen to.
