  1. Just seen this thread. Lovely shade of grey that colour. Would love to visit Croatia.
  2. Sounds like you're a little too into the Yaris already. I do get what you mean though. I know my Type R is supposed to be a "fast car" but compared to my old Zed it's so sedate I feel like it's a 1 litre. Been watching my MPG and everything. Don't worry, I'm not becoming civilised lol. I found when I had my VTI that it egged me on to rev and thrash it, so you're doing well to fight that urge lol. But then at the time it was the most powerful car I'd owned at 170 bhp so I'd probably do the same as you now even if I had a type R, having already owned a TZed. You feel like it's a 1 litre? Well mine IS a 1 litre lol. We should race. (not on a public road though obviously) No not on a public road, Don't want my yaris to spin out in 3rd when I floor it

  4. Adrian Flux wouldn't quote me. Wonder why I'm paying so much more than others.
  5. £1k for me with Sky insurance. All mods declared on a like for like basis. 33 10 years NCB.
  6. Thanks G. I knew it was going to happen when I started hearing the really faint brief rattle a couple of weeks ago. Then it just completely went. Yeah the phoenix will rise from the ashes fully forged. To be honest it wasn't such a blow as the forged block was always on the cards in the very near future anyway. This has just bumped it up to Defcon 1! To be fair the Yaris is really comfy and there's something relaxing about not having any power lol. Stops urgent style of driving.
  7. Torqen business cards all over this phone box lol Come to daddy, you two! Now let's stop spamming G's thread! Oooh I love a bit of spam. You ever had a spam fritter? By heck!
  8. He does seem rather, shall we say, direct. Not a bad thing. The tinterweb is not a good 'place' to form opinions of people. Pinch of salt etc.
  9. That's really poo man. Glad you're ok. Looks like a 30 zone. How did you spin out in 3rd doing 30 or 40? Save up for another Z bud. Edit; just read other posts asking the same thing.
  10. Lol It's ok. Looks like 6 of one and half a dozen of the other to me
  11. It should all be a win win for everyone then
  12. Ahh that's good to know. Can get that all done before the bodykit/paint/wheels then as I wanted to do the aesthetic things all together which obviously means wheels and as I thought I needed 19s minimum then I thought I'd have to do brakes last. Which wouldn't be good with 650hp at the wheels and my heavy right foot lol.
  13. Arthritis and back problems are really detremental no doubt. And the tramadol. 12 to 14. Eesh. One or two of those wipes me out. Sorry to hear you're in this way buddy. Sympathise with you.
  14. SteveM Are you monitoring exactly how much you're eating? Even if it's all healthy stuff, if you're eating too much it will get stored. Use an online tool that includes your activity levels as well as your age weight and height etc to calculate how much you need. Then when you know how many you need to maintain your current weight then try and create a deficit of 1000cals a day. That should in theory equate to 2 pounds of fat a week. 7000cals. Try an app with a food and nutrition database that you can log your food with. I use calorie counter by fatsecret. That'll make it easier. High intensity cardio is good but straight after weights it'll eat your muscle. Rarely see bodybuilders doing HIIT but I always see them slowly walking on the treadmill on incline. Low intensity like walking directly after weights is good. Keep your heartrate about 120. Fasted cardio IE when you first wake up is great for shifting lard. At my leanest and most muscular I was doing 45 mins walk in morning and 45 mins after weights in evening. What's your alcohol consumption like? They do say eat big to get big but over the years I've found I don't need to eat huge amounts. Also with regards to the carbs after training - do it the other way around. Carbs ONLY directly before training. They call it targeted ketogenic diet. Zero carbs all day apart from before training.
  15. Sorry to hear that Although this all sound epic Thanks for the condolences lol. But yes it should be good when it all comes together. Be a hard and long wait though
  16. Bearing gone deep in the engine. Wahey! Will be off the road for a couple of months. On the plus side I've been liasing with Torqen and he's sourced a shortblock for me which is capable of 650whp. That should arrive in 3 months. Specs are; Stage 1 Short Block up to 650rwhp 8.8:1 compression Wiseco Pistons .020 over Eagle/SCAT H Beam Rods ARP Rod Bolts Block inspected and cleaned Block redecked Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate Block water passage cut for HR Headgaskets Rotating assembly balanced Crank magnafluxed and the journals micro-polished New Moly coated Race Spec main bearings installed New Moly coated Race Spec rod bearings installed Block prepped and assembled ARP VQ35 Main Stud Kit Ceramic/Moly Piston Coating 350z DE Short Block Core Charge I'm thinking in the meantime I will slowly take apart the engine for when it goes into TDI North to drop the shortblock in. Save some time and money on labour plus it'll be interesting to do. I have plenty of mechanic friends if I get overly buggered but I'll try my best. On top of that Torqen will be supplying clutch rated to 715ft/ib, 6 x 1000cc injectors, gaskets etc. And a lovely 380mm big brake conversion. Beautiful. The 380mm discs will necessitate 19" wheels which I always planned to get anyway. They'll probably be Work VSXX. On top of that I'm thinking Vertex front bumper and sideskirts and chargespeed rear bumper and a respray in championship white. Kind of an off white. So should be complete by the beginning of summer and maybe a grand unveiling at a meet. Toyota Yaris in meantime. Save some money on fuel lol.
  17. How about chicken wings IN jack daniels bbq sauce.
  18. Renovating houses is a tiresome and time expensive thing. I've done 4 now and they were all Victorian. IE nothing straight or done to current or even recent regulations lol. Knocking off Horsehair plaster that potentially contained long eradicated viruses. Lol. So I feel you. Sound like you're an endomorph then. Don't worry mate you can achieve any physical goal you set your mind to. Don't feel like you're held back biologically or genetically. Perhaps have a thyroid test done and if slow the doc will put you on T3 thyroid hormones. Learning to cook is great for dieting. Learning how to embellish and improve otherwise bland tasting stuff. Like cooking a big pot of basmati rice with a vegetable stock in then when cooked sprinkle fajita or can spices on the rice. All sorts of little tips and tricks that keep you being able to stomach the grub.
  19. Thanks Alex. Yeah will get it over to Ken at RE Performance in Bury. Nice and local. Fingers crossed.
  20. Not think rod? How does a cam fail? And I have no idea what a bucket is other than the mop kind
  21. I'm pretty sure it has. I've sort of detected a slight rattle now over the past week but over the exhaust it was barely audible. Then today it just got a he'll of a lot worse. The rattle has turned into a clatter at about 1500-2000rpm but then subsides. Sounds like top of engine, left bank as you look down at the bay. Think of like a really sh1tty old diesel clatter. Like that. Bearing? Cheers one and all.
  22. For a cheat meal I like to still keep it sensible so I usually opt for a chicken tikka in pita.
