I've had plenty of admiration from the public at large since owning my Z. Driving through Deansgate and the northern quarter on a warm Friday night etc with the windows down and people making remarks of approval. You won't get that with a RS, ST, Type R. They just don't have the road presence or aesthetic appeal the Z has. And that V6 burble.

I went to visit Ken at RE performance in Bury today. Told him what the job was and parts involved etc and we mulled it out together. Had a good chat. Came to the conclusion best course of action to fit the new bottom end block and clutch to drop the subframe and engine and 'box as one. He was asking if the loom was a pain or just plugged in at one point like Subarus are as he said 300zx looms were a pain when removing engine. Anyone know? Anyway - £1000 all in.

I've been thinking about this. It might bury the modifying scene with regards to performance as hot hatches head towards 450 and 500bhp. Why modify your car to be as powerful as entry level hot hatches. Where do you go? How much will it cost to modify the performance beyond that point? "Haha my 350 has 450bhp" Mum in hatch "umm mine has more"

I think the smith machine has its place. If you train alone especially. If you're overloading your muscles enough are they going to say "I'm not growing. You've used a smith machine". If you're getting stronger and keep adding weight, what's the problem. Ego thing I think. "I can ride my bike WITHOUT stabilisers now" Sure you won't be involving stabilisation muscles but it can be effective. You're still hitting the target muscles and if using progressive overload what choice do they have but to grow? I really don't like the sound of "bailing out" on a squat.
