Had a nice drive out this afternoon for a couple of hours taking some pics of the zed and really enjoying myself. I had lots of stops and starts and all was fine until I noticed when I got home my oil pressure was over 120psi! Panic set in and I parked the car up and checked the oil straight away, seemed ok for a hot engine which had just been stopped but will wait for a while until the oil has settled to be sure. Anway I just checked the oil pressure with ignition on and it comes on at about 90psi and goes up to about 120pi when I start the engine. I gave the meter a few whacks to see if it would go down but it stayed high. I am assuming as the meter reads high with ignition on and the deflection between 90psi and 120psi is about the 30psi I normally get that the problem is most likely with the sender unit? an not a serious problem with the engine. I think my oil pressure was normally zero with ignition on and nine not running. The car as not been used much in last couple of months so maybe this could have caused this some how.

I may still be out and about then

Hi, another local zed and another reason to a have a mini meet sometime
-
Welcome to the forum and the joys of owning a 350. I am in Yarmouth and have an early JDM like yours, only had it a few months but loving every minute of owning it. No doubt I will see you around in it, I was in Lowestoft this afternoon doing some shopping.

You can find out all about it here http://www.350z-uk.c...1st-march-2015/

Maybe my mates Golf already had piggyback chips fitted
-
Pretty sure they'll need to fit a piggyback or after market ECU at great expense for these car to be tuned unless you go to am UpRev dealer who can flash the OEM ECU and custom map it. I'm pretty sure SuperNova can do a stage1? uprev and give you bit extra, I got my mate to ask the last time he took his Golf in to be done. But waiting to have a couple of things done to mine before I phone them up and look to get it done.

No doubt we will all meet up at some point in the coming year. I hope to get a few meets in this year and hopefully will get to see all the local zeds and meet there owners.

Parked up on Yarmouth Road in Lowestoft on Saturday afternoon
-
I have not used them yet but I was going to get in touch with APT Tuning in Norwich when I needed some extra help or a dyno done. But I have had no dealings with them yet, if not one of my mates with a golf goes to Super Nova for his remaps, maybe they can help. Don't think there are any others nearby but there are loads if you don't mind a bit of a drive to get to them. Other members may have had some dealings with them the past if not I'm sure someone else will recommend someone in the area.

Yea from Great Yarmouth

I am thinking about getting some bits dipped in the near future, will have to have a look at them sometime when they are done. I think dipping is a better option than wrapping myself but would really like to see the quality that the company does before I hand the bits over.

Also there is a good guide on how to repair the motor written by a member http://www.350z-uk.c...ic-windows-pdf/ which describes how to dismantle the door panels. I had trouble with mine and I think it was because the window was not dropping quick enough as I opened and closed the door and sometimes it was catching. Had to do reset 3 times in 2 months, its OK now but the window does not go up quite as high as before so that may be why.

Was not sure if it was you but thought it may have been. I work just opposite to where my car has been parked in the past, not using it at the moment till we get some better weather. I will probably have the Z out on the road again at the weekend after its had a real good clean PM on its way

Who has owned a Hyundai coupe or a Toyota Celica before moving onto a zed?
TimC replied to ostego's topic in 350Z General
I had not owned either before buying a zed but I was looking at buying a Hyundai Coupe before I got the zed. I wanted something that had 4 seats and not too impractical to own, with reasonably cheap insurance. The coupe was reasonably good looking so that was the car I chose. I spent months looking for a good example and found that there were 2 in the age and condition I was looking for at local garages. So I planned to go and give them a good look over the next day but noticed there was a zed for sale nearby. With that added to the list I got some insurance quotes and was really surprised at how cheap the zed was going to be compared to he coupe. Next day me and the wife went to look at them and she was not really paying much attention to any car I looked at until you guessed it we looked at the zed. The words that came from here moth were "I want car that looks and sounds like that" and " I don't care if its got 2 seats" Now who am I to disappoint her so we looked for the best zed I could find. She helped pick a black zed with 19in wheels, NISMO spoiler and a HKS hi-power exhaust, it was over my budget but she said spend it you only live once -
lol yea most of that was what I was thinking of getting done. The interior plastics are my main concern though, the centre console and gear surround was perfect when I got the car and now after about 8 weeks of driving its scratched to hell
-
KurtB, Yea that must have been me, I can remember saying to my wife "I think we just passed another zed" as we drove past. It may have been your car I drove past parked on Admiralty road one night a week or two back as well. I thought someone had nicked the 350 off the drive as I was driving my other car, I had to double back and take another look just in case
-
Just out of interest what did you get done, I may be in the market to get some bits done in the spring.
-
Weird thing was I bought mine from London a few months back and when I got my copy of the log book the prevous owner was from Norwich. Its almost like she's coming home

The one that is sometimes parked near the casino is mine, did not realise we had so many in Yarmouth
