I had this discussion with myself last week (sign of madness I know) and reading the various articles, Michelin seem to say that next year there will be a replacement for mpss. I took that to mean that the 4s are not a replacement, even if they may be very good And £545 is an excellent price! Wish I'd found that a week ago!

Open it up, give it a clean and also gently stretch the carbon brush springs a little - these are about a 50p part but Nissan made them non-replaceable because they're *****. I teased mine out a little more and they worked perfectly afterwards. Cost: £0

Completely different engine and an HR shouldn't need one anyway as they sorted out the problem.

There's a village in Cornwall, where I picked up my HR, and the whole thing has got permanent average speed cameras - in a 30mph zone. Absolute PITA. I very very rarely speed in a 30, but there you were constantly looking at the speedo as the differential between speeding and not speeding at that level is so low. Gave up and put cruise control on in the end which is stupid really.
