I would also like to know, happy to convoy down with you too irn bru. Cool bud, as I mentioned to STYLZ, I will get a post up for the Jocks heading down and try to get a convoy organised, and hopefully meet up with North of England members on the way down. Will probably start the post sometime in February for it, it'll be in the Central Scotland meets sub section when I do. -
Pmsl .........it'll make a huge difference, still can't see why you can't see this very obvious fact for some who is very picky and precise about dealing with mods and insurance. Only fact that matters is you have witheld pertinent information to your insurance company, in other words you lied to them and NOT fully disclosed the mod. IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to disclose all information and mods, not your Insurance company to decide about the implications of any mod you do. They are just admistrators, who can't see the mod and it's implications, you can and do know the implications and to not disclose this will render your insurance invalid. The at fault drivers Insurance is going to care big time at the fact your driving illegally with null and void insurance and you ain't getting any compensation, and at the end of the day......your car was not legally entitled to be on the road due to non disclosure of a mod. Honestly.......it's that simple and they will laughing all the way to the bank. Since when does car insurance not cover personal injury ?? Last time I checked, that's what insurance is for, so when you mess up, your insurance company pays up to the victim for car and personal injury !!!!!.............except when your driving an uninsured car when you've not declared your mods. So by your thinking, the at fault drivers insurance will just pay up for your smashed in face even though you've removed the air bag which would save you from a smashed up face........think not bud.

Is the camping available within the club stand like the JAE show, or is it away from the club stand area ?. Was at Ford Fair in August 2016, but don't remember seeing a camping area or the likes, or any campers on the club stands, maybe was but just wasn't paying any attention to that, can anybody confirm, or do most attendees book into hotels for the weekend ?. -
Totally disagree, you are witholding a crucial fact on the safety of the driver in the car, if you had no fault accident and the other insurance company questioned why the air bag didn't go off and then to be told you replaced It with an aftermarket one with no air bag capability and did not inform your Insurance company of the safety device being nullified then you are in the $hit. Can't see why you think not telling your Insurance you've nullified the air bag capability of the car is not your fault, that's just bollox Ekona.
-
Doubt very much that's gona cut it in the event of a crash, you've purposely removed the oem wheel where the air bag deploys from and installed an after market one which doesn't have air bags, whether the nonce on the end of the insurance phone line knows his stuff or not, it's your responsibility to tell them you've removed a safety device, not their responsibility to work It out.
-
Also need to let insurance your running without airbags too, which no doubt they won't like !!

Maybe just me or the vids but they all sound pretty tame to me, was expecting more snarling and pops from all three vids but that's listening on my phone, will listen on pc later

What info is noted on sections D.1 and D.2 on your V5 for your VR4 mate ?

Not what I'm asking bud, it's the V5 registration information I'm looking for in relation to imported cars never sold in the uk. I'm not fussed about the cost to insure her, I just want her insured for the exact model she is and as near as possible properly registered with DVLA. Is your fairlady z properly registered, by that I mean is the exact make, model and variant noted on the V5 ?, specifically section D.1 and D.2 of the V5

Good shout mate, never thought of trying this route

I'm looking for some info / members experience of car insurance when they have bought an imported car, specifically a car that was never to be sold in UK domestic market. I have owned a Nissan Pathfinder R50 WX II Ti model for a number of years now, in fact since 2010. It's a 1999 model and imported to the UK from Australia 2000. On the V5 it is registered as a Nissan only, no model reference at all. This obviously caused me issues when insuring it but I eventually found a company to cover me on it, but they had to actually wangle the policy, as in, insured it as a such and such model Pathfinder, but had side notes on their system regarding the actual model. This has always bugged me and I have had numerous contacts with DVLA on the matter trying to find out why it wasn't properly registered at time of import, but sadly never got to the bottom of it till last week whilst again speaking to a DVLA administrator about the car. He informed me that because the Ti model was never to be made available for the UK DM, then the DVLA and the Society of Motor Manufacturers, did not allocate it a model code, so therefore it could not be be registered properly on their data base of UK vehicles. I have went and paid for a vehicle history check via an Australian online company and had a full report emailed through to me, which is great as it gives more info and history on the car prior to export to the uk. I have also since discovered that the VIN number on the V5 is wrong, only discovered this error when speaking to a lass in Nissan UK, so have wrote a letter explaining all the issues to DVLA and enclosed a photo of my VIN plate and the history report and hopefully be able to have it better registered, if not fully and properly registered with a new V5 being issued to me. So, my question is, has any other member who has imported or owned an import car ever had the same problems as me and do you know of the "model code" they quoted me about that's generated between DVLA and SoMM, is your imported car fully registered on the V5 or is this the norm for imports, specifically Grey Imports ?. Be very interested in any of the Member Trader Insurance guys take or explanation on this issue I've got with my Pathfinder and DVLA. I tried calling a few "specialist import insurance" company's but the reps I spoke to really didn't have a clue. It's insurance renewal time for my Pathfinder, I really want it insured properly as the full make and model it is. From what I can gather from Web searches and DVLA staff, this is the only Pathfinder Ti model in the uk, so makes it very unique. Thanks for reading and sorry about the War and Peace post.
