cheers flyboy. erm... normal 'paint', is it tough enough for engine bay temps? i was going to prep, spray and lacquer the strut bar. thoughts? or should i just get it dipped in that hardwearing plastic stuff?

does a spray can exist for Sunset orange? Halfords nr me dont have one on their books. i am spraying some engine and interior bits, so only small jobbies. i run a serch in this forum (paint) for ''sunset'' and only got 3 threads! lol. cheers Pritchard

yes non-resonted. iv spent hours listening to all sorts on youtube (with good bassy headphones) trying to find a good one. i found alot of them sound too high pitched. loud is good, i like loud. but, i like a deeper tone. the cobra compared to others seemed to tick the box. oh, yea thanks to Cougar Store for really quick turnaround! shame i busted my ankle the next day. cant drive her now **Edit, Cougar Store! lol.

So a box arived today. i bought the Z because i wanted a nice V6 in my life... so natrually, an exhaust was on the shopping list before i even picked the right car. now, I have one of these in my living room... going onto this... The Pumpkin which should sound like this... i do a little sex-wee every time i hear it. im sure youv all heard it before, but i just had to tell someone !! lol. its like AA - i just want to share. Well, had the car 4 days. new Exhaust on its way, ECU and thermal spacers quoted for, and spary cans en route for some interior trickery. ....shame i fractured my ankle on Monday. lol. in a cast staring at the car. just what i wanted.

Morning Z’s Just bought my Z, lots of questions. Not sensible to start multiple threads. I’ve answered some stuff with search. Some I haven’t had good results with. So here is my residue (you will be amazed at how long my ‘’Answered questions’’ piece of paper is. Its longer than this lol) In a quick bulletpoint format, can someone help answer, or point me in the direction of the answer, to the following: General Car: I have cruise control. I have had cruise control before on a car, but for the life of me I cant get this to work. Light comes on the dash, but using buttons I can set speed, accel or cruise or anything. Instructions or guide anywhere? Dash tach lights. Theres 2 buttons on the right to dim or brighten the tacho lights. They seem to do nothing? ( yes I had my lights on at the time) My full beam is non-existent. I have 2 working bulbs, but when engaged it literally adds a little candlelight ahead on top of main beam. With my main beams on I have been frequently flashing cars to pull out / pass and they just sit there, gormless. Apparently also unable to tell that my full beam was engaged! Normal? The shift light, on my on-board cpu pod it set to 6,500 (which I know is redline anyway) but it seems to flash at me around 6,000 ? normal? I have set it lower, 6,300 but it still seems to flash before this. Do you guys have a Z specialised ‘’mobile mechanic’’. I didn’t see mention of one (but then, it is a Nissan, not a Skoda ). But you know, a mobile mecchie that does your little mods, services, or issues. Common issues questions: I have the clicky driveshaft when reversing. I understand this could have been fixed under warranty with dealer. Now that its used, is this a cosmetic annoyance, or does this mean its going to fail and needs replacing? i am sure this has been covered 1000 times but reading through some other threads I couldn’t find this answer. I have the squeaky brembros front pads and discs have just been done, I guess I need to live with this. Passenger door speaker has lose wire. Is there a how-to on how to fix it? Meetings questions: What happened to the Wales meets? I have a friend whos a former member here, and he was raving about how awesome they were. I guess they are no more? (one word answer. Lol. Im sure this is a big thread… somewhere.) Tuning / ECU questions I have heard tell that due to the electric throttle on the Z, that the throttle response is greatly backed off in 1st and 2nd gear, for ‘’driver safety’’. And that an ecu tuner can sort this out. Any truth in this? I appreciate theres a lot here. I just need quick one-line answers for a lot of this, so don’t spend your lunch break writing an essay for me. Or a point in the right direction. Many Thanks in advance. Big Kiss. x

cool. do you remember that film Matilda, when that dogey dealer put sawdust in the engine to make it run ''as sweet as a nut'' for 100 miles. lol. i had visions of that. cool, i wont panic. :-) speeds up the exhaust purchase, need to drown out that noise cheers

34,000miles 2004 model. nice. shiney. engine quiet. all the other bits n stuff looked good (iv looked at a few. and this one was the best id seen by far. ) even drivers door was almost scratchfree. anyway. i did my 350z-uk research before i parted with any cash. checked for most common faults: like clutch being replaced (seems to vary) inside drivers door reversing driveshaft knock cd skipping (hard to test) etc etc. anyway. drove lovely. nice and quiet. 150miles later when i got home. heard a lovely noise - like a spade being dragged up a gravel driveway. its the clutch/box. I have searched, and this too is a common fault. but this does seem overly loud. 1-2,000 rpm in everygear, loud resonating sound under load. (clutch fully engaged) standstil, rattle with foot off clutch pedal, quiet when pressed. Looking through the history, clutch was done 6 months ago (less than 2,000 miles). How loud is ''normal''. its loud enough that i feel embarrased at the noise already. on another note... i also have the clicking driveshaft in reverse! i tested for this on test drive but didnt hear it. now i do. ooops.
