Yep, thinking about it, it's probably worth checking out what the drag community go with. Good track tyres, 888s, AR1, etc have pretty stiff sidewalls which could be a disadvantage on the launch?
-
Not familiar with those. They're not the Motorsport UK approved lists. The sport version looks good in the pictures though. Quite a bit more thread than some track tyres maybe? I've driven 200 miles to a venue on the 888r, did 7 sprints and drove home with no problems. They're a little noisier is all.

If there was a remain vote in a second referendum why would Europe want a country back in the fold that are only a coin toss away from leaving again? Surely that is an instability they could do with excising before it spreads. I completely agree with all the economic arguments in the previous posts. But the people who vote against you really don't give a sheet. Any ideas what can be offered to the people who have a vote and don't like the way their world is going? Because at the moment they're getting told to be worried about rich women not getting paid enough, transgender being so important and race is an issue again even though it was all cleared up years ago. So what do you tell them?

It doesn't have a throttle controller on it by any chance?

I've run R888r and Nankang AR1. Very similar and both way grippier than a sporty road tyre. The 888r for me was 1.7 seconds quicker than mpss over a 66 second lap with a standing start. Between the two, I'd say the 888 worked better from cold than the Nankang. They're both OK in the wet but I have to say I haven't hit any big puddles in them ever. The quickest reasonably priced Road legal tyre would probably be the Extreme vr2 soft compound. They are now the top choice for sprints and hills They really are for short bursts though. Very track focused. Not a daily tyre

Welcome along old chap. Loads of Motorsport in the UK, you'll love it here. Standard Z is good enough for plenty of fun on track.

The economic argument is pointless. Arguing that leave is costly is not going to convince leave voters to change. They believe what they believe and won't be bought. 20% here or there on commodities is nothing. They're battle hardened - they saw house prices go up by 300%, (unpredicted, no warnings by experts) mainly facilitated by a Parliament who made fortunes off their second homes.
-
None of that stuff on it. Just a bit more weight in the worst place, up front with the SC.

All stock underneath. Not even coilovers. I'd wrung its neck in standard form for two years and then had to chose between handling and power. Power was always going to guarantee faster times so blew the budget on that. I was worried that I could have spent on all the handling mods but potentially gain naff-all or even make it worse. The problem is lack of testing time to vary set-ups. And it was all unproven on our hill in our car. Fortunately, Glen has done a season testing a good handling NA Zed. He's been pretty pacy so looks like there's time to be had

So the Zed has been up on the hill for a few years now. An update is well over due. Will keep it to the figures. Interesting for people who want to mod. No real handling mods done, stock suspension and interior. Mucked with the POWAH in pure Clarkson style though. Started in a bog standard rev-up in 2015. Cloth seats model on brand new Mpss. Ran 70 seconds all day. 2016 kept the same setup all year apart from a Cosworth airfilter. With loads of practice a 67.82 was the best time. 2017 the rules changed to allow better tyres. Went to r888r but tainted the experiment by throwing in a Kaaz also. After 40+ runs over the season it got to 66.17. 2018 had some breakdowns early on (propshafts are wafers) but they'd layed some new tarmac so all data is void. Glen from Wax and Shine turned up in his Z and pushed me to drive harder than I ever would too. went to Nankang AR1s which look amazing but need heat. Vortech got it down to 64.67. Clutch was always a reliability worry so got a new Completion Clutch and Ultra Light Fly. Finished the year on 63.73. Have to say it feels a bit eh, wiggly, at these speeds so might have to look at handling mods but am still not convinced they'll make it quicker..

Good quick resolve, nice to see. Glad you got your Z. They're great cars ... Underrated.

Nice one. Nothing like a deadline to hurry things along. Running around sorting things out shouldn't be on you. If you end up returning (having it collected) don't worry. There are lots more Zeds out there. What's annoying is the whole point of buying off a dealer is that you shouldn't have to be hyper diligent. Its all on them really. Especially with the credit card payment. Seems like a silly risk by them. Its all well and good saying the driver is at fault if he gets pinged by an ANPR, ok you'd get done. But if the sale is void you don't have to look after the car.
-
Whatever you do, don't back down. You'll be annoyed at yourself forever. It tends to be a bit of a bluffing game. I'd say go hard for a full rejection of the sale. The law is on your side, hugely, but it just takes time.
-
How long have you had the Competition Clutch set up? I find it breaks traction on upshifts in the wet if you're not careful.. Worth watching out for.
-
That's brilliant that you're running the same tyres. Sounds like a great battle. Fwd is usually easier in the wet but Zed should maybe win with it being a big track otherwise. No pressure. Look forward to seeing your report.

Search valve stem seals for a bit more info. Could be that but could be other stuff too..

I had multiple failures on a cylinder and swapping coils didn't work until I put a good new coil in with lots of dielectric grease. Ran it very hard since with no probs. Might not be your solution but its a cheap try... Good luck

850kg. Wow. Crazy power to weight. Had the Z on a weighbridge the other day and it was 860 for the front axle. Another 690 for the ass. Had my exhaust done at Andy's place, APW. Good bloke.

Mine was bucking on the gear change at that bit there in the dry. It never used to with the standard clutch and fly. Made me very cagey in the wet. There's a slight crest there and it isn't quite straight. Must say, I feared the worst when they said over the radio that you'd had some of the barrier. Phew, now let's hope for dry weather in September and go 63 hunting.- 228 replies

Yeah, it was a bit flippin' close for comfort that. I probably wouldn't have pushed so hard in that last run but I just knew you were going to post a quick one. I saw you waiting at parc ferme as I crossed the line so was dead chuffed to see them wave you by as my time popped up. Sorry about that and thanks for all the rubber you laid down for me. Another event, another second quicker - on the limit (and over it) all day. That 1st win is going to feel extra sweet when it comes. Guess I'll have to try to get to 63 before you.. Cheers for a great day's racing (from a slightly larger wine glass...cough )- 228 replies

Missfires without a code is strange. It will usually spot it and at least diagnose p0300 random misfire. Which tends to be a coil failing when hot or just failed. I've had terrible misfires for a collapsed cat that weren't read but apart from that it will usually throw a code to say what's wrong.

Car looked and sounded great up there. You properly hooked it up and revved all the way through the buildings section - represented the Zed brilliantly. Just 5 runs in and only beaten by a Sunbeam with crazy HP/ton and a sorted M3 with a very experienced driver. Looking like you'll smash that 66 second record. Hopefully I'll have moved it a bit lower before that : )- 228 replies

Code reader is like a tenner or something. If the car is still running you've time to get one off the net.. Any cheapo obdII reader will tell you what's wrong assuming the problem has been stored
