Hey, guess what I'm only the agenda setter.. Radio Leeds came into my shop last week asking for questions to put to the Labour MP Richard Burgeon. . So I says - "Labour would be a great vote for most people round here but they just seem too wishy/washy. If they got tough they'd hoover up loads of the UKIP votes. So my question is, what's the policy on law and order - I haven't heard it yet?" They gave the question to Burgeon and tbf he said people shouldn't be scared in their homes - sending criminals to prisons that are universities of crime is wrong etc. He did use the word "rehabilitation" once which was a bit of a let down though. Next thing you know Labour is becoming the toough-on-crime party while the Cons are actually saying cuts in policing are ok purely because of some badly presented media work by their obvious double-agent Dianne.. .

Anglesey is definitely gorgeous and fast. I had a brilliant time there with the SXOC people but I don't know if I'd call it a great layout? I could see it being brilliant for racing but not convinced as a trackday destination. Not really any sequences on it..? As for worldwide it would have to be Suzuka - never, ever did all those left/right bits near the start properly on the Playstation. (PS Fantasy track would be the OutRun grid .. )

Bit more on the diff about half way through this article.. http://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/project-car/0404scc-project-nissan-350z-part-2/

No idea if it's easy to do or not... but there is some info here. http://www.coordsport.com/index.php/latest-news/item/483-kaaz-differentials-lock-adjustment-instruction-sheet

That's not how it always goes so there must be an anomaly. How is yours set up? What percent?
-
all relative of course. .. firm suspension might negate the lurch and pitch. Don't know. Obviously a diff is a must for a strong motor. But if you don't drive in anger or chase times.. sticking with something smoooth may suit better.
-
Also it dives all over the place on lift-off as it switches from 1 to .5

I think it's just a Nissan bearing that you replace it with if needed. £50 quid-ish or so.
-
Bearings might need replacing - might not. Mileage and maintenance dependent.

They can be set up to be mild or aggressive before you fit them. Out of the box tends to be harsh.

I bought these on here a few weeks back to use for Hillclimbing. Here's the original ad. http://www.350z-uk.c...ntegral +alloys From the original ad: 8" fronts ET34 9" rears ET38 I used these as track wheels as they're a light wheel, according to wheel weights list, half a kg heavier than respective Rays, but you get an extra half an inch on the rear to run a bigger tyre. Tyres: 265/35 Nankang NS2R Soft compound 235/40 Federal RSR All with even 5mm of tread Clear the Brembos without the need for spacers. Only selling as I've decided to go with this year's new Toyo R888r which are stupidly soft it seems. Well, judging by the times my competitors are bringing in anyway... got to keep up. These seem not to heat up quickly enough for the Hill. Which implies they're more durable and maybe suited to longer stints? They're very clean and look great on track duty. The tyres are a good way from the wear bars. https://www.facebook...&type=3

Good stuff Andy. Really interesting to see your set-up plans. Is the diff at the factory setting or did you go for something else? How did you find it on lift-off - any effect on steering? -
Nicely mixed vid. Thumbs.. I agree it's a hell of a place, well worth the trip. Some big speed to the uphill breaking point. That right-hander at the top (just before the View over the sea..) is hard to get right. Never felt I nailed it...

Is it true that those r888r leave your fingerprints on 'em when you touch 'em? Everyone up our way has gone for them - they look amazing. A few on the Nankangs though. Heating may be an issue but is a cold 1b not still going to be better than a cold 1a? I'm running with some of Jetpilot's cast-offs (green with NS2s and 595s) next weekend on our practice day. A good inch shorter too so more shifting will be needed. It's all timed, 6 splits, so should get some good data to share. Will be interesting to see how everyone does compared to last year on 1a rubber. -
That could have been messy. Not easy to make a sudden dive around him when it's wet like that. Sounds like you enjoyed the adrenaline kick afterwards though.

It's got to be a time thing. Sliding feels like wasted time so you correct. I'm not saying drifters are slow - a good drifter will lap better than your average sprinter, eg this guy who beat loads of GTRs on the handling track ...but I think if you are deliberately trying to slide it's a world apart from trying to go quickly. If you're going really, really quickly, even a good drifter won't have time to show-boat and will have to fight to cancel out a twitch just like the rest of us.

Loving it. Pretty serious looking weapon now for 2wd classes. Any idea what you rivals will be in? Porkers? BMs? -

Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun coming up this season. Fair play to you for keeping it going. -
I feel your pain - I pay council tax to Leeds and have a Leeds phone number. But the Post Office have the postcode as Bradford so I get hammered on insurance. 42, never had a ticket or a claim. It was £600+ last time. Then again, to bring it down by a few hundred quid could easily be done by moving house - at which point you say "well it's only a few hundred quid - I'd lose that in solicitor's and estate agent's fees...sod that"
-
Exactly - I've been banging on about this for years (to anyone who couldn't get away..) Why should a young kid be priced out of driving because he effectively has to pay the insurance for some older richer people who choose to drive around with delicate luxuries on their extremities? What's wrong with big, cheap, ugly rubber bumpers? If you want to wear a coat of Faberge eggs it's up to you to insure it. Not the chap who might bump into you on the footpath.
-
Looks like you've found a nice one there. Very smart looking. Busy weekend getting it sorted too - no hanging around. Did you get to burn-off the old tyres? Will be interesting to see how you find it compared to the Sirocco.

Covering their jobs till I get new staff is the real pita... Still, less wages to pay for a bit - every cloud..
