    Alezan Seats

I swapped my black ones for Alezan from a member on here. On black or GM cars they look great IMO.
  2. I love the Z4M and I think they look great.
  3. Genuinely gutted, my first serious girlfriend has passed away. I can't believe how hard it's hit me and maybe there's something to be said for the first true love of your life. I've not even spoken to her in over 25 years but I suppose it's a life event that sticks with you.Crazy.
  4. Trouble is the lids have caused damage to the lights directly underneath where they sit. I'm assuming they are insulating the area directly underneath and have tarnished the inside of the light units. It looks ok because the damage is hidden from view but I would seriously reconsider getting lids put on if I were you mate. I need to source some new lights as a consequence.
  5. My poor old neighbour sold his RS 500 Cosworth about 12 years ago for about 12k. The guy he sold it to moved it on for 30 plus! There are exceptions but in general I feel modern cars disconnect you from the visceral driving experience. There is always personal sentiment among various generations for vehicles they either lusted after or owned at some stage in their life. Certain vehicles create such an impression that they span generations entirely. Most of us as enthusiasts probably have a wish list and have made regrettable sales selling vehicles for peanuts that now command silly money. Predicting future prices as I see it is based on certain criteria starting with the obvious rarity factor through to the impact the vehicle had when launched. The problem is I'm a consummate petrolhead that's always looking for the next owning experience I can safely say I will never make money on a car unless it's bought for a song and is easy and cheap to repair. Yeah I've broken even a few times and got it right once by buying a little Lupo Gti 6 speeder with leather for 1500, paid 35 quid for a sensor and put a years MOT on it and moved it on for 2700. Unfortunately the BMW I had at the time ate my profit in a week If I can sell the Z for the same amount as the original price I paid that would be great, I'm not holding my breath though.
  6. I want to take my GM lids off but they were glued in place by the previous owner.
  7. Cheers Ekona, what a great response and very helpful. It's certainly not a purchase I'm going to rush that's for sure. I'm definitely getting a manual and Nav isn't important as I rarely use it now. I was very impressed with the way they drive and I've owned some nice cars, I would happily rate them with the best, it took all of three seconds to feel connected.
  8. Already have a Z commander looking at Caymans.
  9. I'm looking at these with a view to buy, I had a spin in one recently and I'm hooked! My budget will only stretch to an 07 MY car due to the family budget. So aside from the two engine issues I'm aware of and having decent history and getting a warranty is there anything else I need to be aware of? My little blast blew me away, it ranks personally as one of the most fun connected cars I've ever driven.
  10. Yep I to have a rattle behind the clocks.
  11. I'm going to lubricate the mechanisms in the locks and see if it improves.
  12. I had a similar problem last week. The remote worked sporadically and then would only open the drivers door. I went and had my battery replaced and all fine until this morning when it happened again! The only common denominator for me was damp weather or heavy condensation due to the colder weather. This morning it opened the drivers side and took two attempts to lock it followed by a double click and hey presto it worked.
  13. I just need new lights due to an issue where the previous owner put brows on and they went bad inside the unit under the brows
  14. I have an old Ford Puma in the garage for the winter.
  15. Sod detailing the bugs off that nose in the summer.
  16. Is TGM still on Sankey Lane just off the Cove Road? I to know this place, top work.
  17. I've owned a DC2 UK and a CW DC5 import. Insurance on the import at the time was about £200 more if I remember correctly. Going out on a limb here the chassis balance on the DC2 was slightly better but the series vtec was nothing and then bang. The DC5 was better built car as newer and the ivtec lump more linear with more pull at lower rpm. I'm a huge Honda fan as you might have guessed
  18. I'm happy with my DE, why would I get the HR. Well checking the oil is easier and the revised engine is a peach. Interior is better too.
  19. Well I bit the bullet and went to Nissan on this one. The fob battery I used was duff so £7.20 later both remote batteries replaced and all working perfectly. No reprogramming required all good. I've not tried the single shot opening trick yet though.
  20. Superb cars, everything the EP3 CTR wasn't, good looking, better seats, better steering etc etc
  21. I doubt it will work on mine it's an 05 54 but worth a try later.
  22. Since the start of this recent bout of wet weather my DE has developed an odd issue. After the car has been stood for 12 or more hours in the rain the first press of the remote opens the drivers door as normal but a second press doesnt engage the the passenger door. However if I manually open the lock from inside and lock the car straight away it will perform perfectly. It will also perform perfectly if left for say 9 or so hours. Initially I thought it was the remote key battery on its way out but after changing the battery it still happens. So Im assuming it must be the locking mechanism sticking in some way, has anyone else had this issue? If so Im thinking it needs lubricating or indeed water is getting somewhere it shouldnt be. Any ideas are most welcome Thanks
