  1. Needs darker wheels and IMO would look even more fantastic
  2. NSX an early 3.0 5 speeder. I really should have kept it
  3. Good thread this, the no braking theme was originally introduced as stated to help focus driver assessment of the road ahead but also using your brakes in a sparing manner means they are less likely to suffer from fade when you might be required to stamp on them. The introduction of ABS was also a game changer, eradicating not entirely but for the main part cadence techniques. The golden rule is to not drive faster than the distance you can see to stop safely. The quote about slow in and progressive out of bends is also a good one. Again it's not just about mechanical grip and comfort it's also about line of site through an apex and minimising conflict risk. I especially like the post about "what if", this is a superb mentality to have in today's habit forming driving culture. Combining "what if" with a mental commentary about potential hazards helps to create a safety zone around your vehicle regardless of what other road users are doing and more importantly gives you escape options.
  4. There are five coupes in my street, my boss has one, my other half's brother has one and I see them everywhere around town lol. Yeah they are common where I live mate
  5. My last MOT I had the same issue 05 DE with new Berk and Miltek. During the Uprev map a month or so later I was told the car was running really lean. It's not anymore so next MOT will be different.
  6. I saw a Tesla taxi yesterday and couldn't believe it . Whether or not the EV does become a mainstay is yet to be seen. I still think combined hybrids are the immediate future and maybe alternative clean fuel tech who knows. The ideal home for the EV is in a city at the moment until the range and charging time issue is resolved.
  7. Doing the BMW thing or Audi blends you into anonymity on the road. I did the BMW thing and they drive nice but it never felt special because there are so many about and I rarely turned round to glance at them on garage forecourts . I refuse to buy an Audi because in general the reputation for tractable safety overrides the true driver enjoyment you get from rear drive cars. I did have a moment weakness and look at RS4s and was tempted for about a week. The Z is a fine looker and they do feel special, I'm currently having a 370 nismo fetish and I know the Z isn't the sharpest but they have grabbed me. My 350 is the first car I've modded and enjoyed doing so. It's become a what can I do next car whilst saving for the 370
  8. I would buy one just for a decent dipstick The rest is immaterial to me. The facelift revup looks the same bar the bonnet but checking the oil on earlier cars is a pain. The HR was a run out model and a test bed for the new engine, performance due to a weight disadvantage wasn't that different but the HR I test drove felt more usable if that makes sense. I bought a DE purely based on the fact I got a good deal and cash my way for mods when I turfed off my M3 I'm one of those who prefers the look of the HR which is why my DE will look like one by the end of the summer Any variant of a Z is cool and I don't go in for this stupid one upmanship as I had enough of that rubbish on Cutters.
  9. Yes for sure. Just a little scared as I have a Engine management light come on after 2 days. They guy I bought it off said its just cause it has not got any cats so the engine seems to think there is a problem.... bit scary after 2 days. Need to get a OBD reader to sort it out apparently ...... Do the pedal dance to retrieve codes. If as the seller stated the standard cats have been removed then you should be getting codes for the post cat O2 sensors. The Z has a sensor pre cat and post cat on both sides. I had this issue after fitting berk high flows. Th best way to eradicate the issue is an Uprev map. Spacers didn't work for me but do work for some. I take my car to Horsham Developments (Hdev) as the boys up there know their stuff.
  10. I travel through Hale and Farnham quite a bit, welcome
  11. Well it certainly has more potential problems and is costlier to own but not fragile.
  12. I did a search online to look at comparative pictures of the two boxes. Every search I did came back as basically the same box but the 06 one has a larger trumpet section inserted into the existing hole as the seam line can be seen in the pictures I looked at. The larger trumpet on mine slots in tight and held ok without bonding but I put a few dabs of silicone on it just in case.
  13. It's in ok I just needed a few dabs of silicone to secure the larger trumpet ring into the smaller one. Unless I already had a later box installed by the previous owner which is also a possibility. It was a nice tight fit.
  14. I've just looked at some pictures of both boxes and it looks like the stack is just an add on to an earlier box. I just need to re - attach mine. It fits in tight but I just wanted to ensure it stays there. I have an HKS filter to replace the OEM one too. It's really just the prelude to a plenum spacer as she's already been uprev tuned.
  15. Velocity stack Such a grand name for what is essentially a metal trumpet end and mine isn't even attached I need to stick it on with something. Gasket gel maybe.
  16. Apologies I've tried the search function but no joy. I have a 54 plate DE and today purchased an 06 airbox. The only difference I can see is the size of the "trumpet" in the box. Is this right please?
  17. I'm assuming there was a meet on somewhere today as the M3 northbound this morning was GTR central.Very nice
  18. Black Dam roundabout this morning, nice blue Z, you waved and I flashed
  19. Ditto. I was so close to buying one until I started to read the horror stories.
  20. Good bunch on here. I also replied to your Facebook query. I hope you find a good one.
  21. Yes facelift lights bi xenon and a straight swap. Ballast boxes are on the underside of each light unit and it's literally plug and play with OEM.
