  1. Would someone with OEM fans mind just putting their aircon on to get the fans spinning and checking please?
  2. Cheers yes very pleased with it especially considering how much some carbon fibre lips are. Very minimal adjustment, just used the dremel on one of the corners on the right hand side as it was a bit too tight. One screw either side and then Sikaflex to bond it on. Ha! I've had them for a year now, I've cleaned up the lenses as the one especially was very scratched. But I want them blacked out and iron man mod first. Just not got around to sorting it. Looking forward to that mod though!
  3. My OEM fans have died so I just installed a Mishimoto fan shroud. Fired it up, fans are working but they are sucking air through the rad towards the engine, is that right?? I thought the OEM ones pushed air through the rad away from the engine?
  4. Bit of an update. I bought this carbon fibre lip from Redline Styling for a very reasonable £150. Only took a very small amount of tweaking to fit. I used Sikaflex to fit and seal the gaps. Pre-fit: And also I managed to get my mitts on these side canards for £96 off a seller on ebay, smidge excited at these: Pre-fit: They were a PITA to fit, but worth it. And here she is as of last Saturday, just snow foamed it and then it lashed it down Getting there!! Service and MOT this week at Cougar Store, fingers crossed!! -Iain.
  5. Has anyone got one of these wheel nuts knocking about? The thread on one of mine is damaged, save me buying another 20. They are the spline driven type 12x1.25. Thanks.
  6. Just opened up the air filter box, this is the air filter: Is this a Cosworth filter? There's no markings on it at all. Thanks.
  7. Hello... ha saga...yes... sadly looks like the A/C one is not working too well still perhaps I didn't do a good enough job although I did notice the brushes were a lot more worn than the other. Hmm... well looks like I have to have the Mishimotos fitted now as mentioned above the A/C doesn't seem reliable and I don't want it to overheat again. I guess at least one plus point is that if you can hear them you know they are working. I notice you can buy different fans to fit the Mishimoto shroud, might be worth swapping out the A/C one for a quieter one perhaps?
  8. Took the fans out, dismantled the motors, none of the brushes were touching the commutator. Sorted out, reassembled, I think they are working but they are smoking a lot because I used WD40 and grease. Got a service booked next week at the Cougar Store so I will get them to test properly but ordered a Mishimoto fan shroud just in case.
  9. Just tested them. Passenger fan doesn't come on with aircon. Driver side comes on when up to temp but only with a nudge.
  10. Just found this for info: Start the car with a/c off = No fans Start the car with a/c on = Passenger side fan on Car running at idle and up to operating temps (190 something) = Passenger fan will cycle on and off to cool Car running at idle and exceeding operating temps (Around 208) = Drivers side will turn on to assist the other fan Anytime the a/c is turned on the passenger side fan will come on for the a/c condenser.
  11. So OEM better? Yep found the video ta, don't mind the refurb bit it's removing the fans I'm not looking forward to. Is there a way to test them, should they both spin up with the air con on? Cheers.
  12. Does anyone know for sure which is better I've been reading conflicting information? My Z overheated yesterday so I need to know whether to refurbish the OEM motors or replace with Mishimoto. Thanks.
  13. Sorted it.... Me being special I saw "FR" printed on the reservoir and thought that meant front pump on the left rear pump on the right, so I swapped out the right hand pump. I just took the wheel off so that I could get to it properly and noticed "RR" printed on the left of "FR"... so I had swapped out the front pump and not the rear Just replaced the rear pump and now all working fine A fuse guide would still be useful though...
  14. The rear washer on my 350z is not working. The front one is fine. Can't hear the pump and from what I read on here is that they use the same fuse. So I replaced the pump; still not working. Tested the old pump that's fine. Any ideas?? Thanks. By the way I am struggling to find a key all the fuses, the manual is useless. It would be useful to print off if anyone has one.
  15. OK Thanks Adrian, I'll have a think (and save lol)
  16. I did but I could only see ones to fit a HR and 370z £600 though
  17. I probably don't have enough ££ just yet but I wanted to see where I can source a pair of Ark R-Spec HFC's from and how much they'll be? For a 2005 DE. Many thanks Iain.
  18. I've had a busy few weeks working on the Z. First up is the Motordyne plenum spacer with Iso thermal gasket. Bought this brand new off a fellow member for £160. Yuk... Out with the old plugs too... ready for a new set of Denso Iridiums from Clark Motorsport for £50 Lower plenum all cleaned up... Now for some nice shiny bits. Mopedmark has worked his magic. £200 for the upper plenum, throttle body, strut brace, and bonnet latch. Time to get them all fitted... Not the best photo but looking good nonetheless. I don't plan on much more under the bonnet as I wish to keep it standard but clean looking. Next up, something not so interested but needed to be done... the rusty old W brace. I also decided to replace the subframe brackets whilst there. Before I fitted I coated them in black Hammerite smooth paint to give it a little extra protection. I bought these from Torqen for an eye watering £391 that was to include all the nuts and bolts to replace the old ones. Some more updates soon (new lip, facelift rear lights, wheel nuts, and wipers) just no photos as yet TTFN. Iain.
  19. Today, I think it was a HR, in the car park.
  20. Sounds ace, well done. And the bonus is you no longer have to put up with that stupid dip stick!
