Hi Simon When was the last brake and clutch fluid change carried out? See my earlier post. If its due get it done and make sure both clutch and brake fluid gets changed as some garages don't do the clutch. Hope this helps. Lee

Silinda i have just had the brake and clutch fluid changed and it seems to have cured the problem with the jittery starts in slow traffic. when i collected the car i asked the garage what was the condition of the brake and clutch fluids when he changed them.He said the brake fluid was still clean but the clutch fluid was very dirty. He seem to think the clutch fluid was not changed at the same time as the brake fluid when it was done last, some 2 1/2 years ago. Both are changed now and while driving home i couldn't believe the difference as there was no jittery start in the slow traffic. i also noticed when i parked the car in my garage the chatter you get from the clutch and fly wheel had also reduced. it's like driving a different car!! may be worth looking into regards FMJ

Hi Does anyone have any though'st on this as a good oil choice for the Z? i look forward to your replies FMJ

Hi silinda I have the very same issue in slow stop start traffic but never any other time. mines done 35k on a 58 plate, i've put up with it for the last 21/2 years. i'm thinking a rolling road tune could highlight what it is but i have a service and rear tyres to do plus a service on the other car. if i find out what the cause is i'll let you know. Hi Hig This trim is part of the plastic roof trim and if your lucky you may be able to re stick it with a water proof double sided tape. if you need to remove the roof trim be very careful as it don't take much to break the plastic trim.oh to replace with a new park from a main stealer it's just over £300 unless you can fined a second hand one. good luck FMJ

As above Vlad Not a job to take a cheap option. Can be done but Engineers calcs and building control is a must, i've seen to many botch jobs that come back and bite the owner in the Butt through structural defects, not to mention when re selling the property. Good luck

Great job Gargoyle, did the A pillar trims come off ok.? My Z is in the spray shop ready to have its roof sprayed on Monday. Did you need to replace the tapes to the window/ door rubbers when you fitted everything back if so what did you use?

Delivered today as promised my DBA T2 front disc's and Hawk pads and a complimentary packet of Haribo's Thanks to Rich for a great service and advise. Just need to find time to fit them FMJ

FYI if anyone needs to replace this trim with a second hand one then note there was a slight change to it on the 07 Plate onwards. That info came from a Nissan main dealer.

+1 as Shenley said carefully remove the rubber to expose the eight screws. I had taken mine off after a nissan main dealer said it was two screws and just clips. Mine cracked and I'm currently looking for a replacement. They are very delicate so go slow and carefull. This shows the clips but not the eight hidden screws!! Good luck

[SOLD]53 Nissan 350z GT Breaking Spares with 20" Khans
FMJ replied to Shades Rs's topic in 350z Parts For Sale
Hi Shades RS Do you have the plastic colour coded roof edge/trim that runs from the bottom of the windscreen up and over to the back of the roof on the passenger side, near side. Regards Fmj -
This is what Nissan printed for me when I enquired about the clips for this trim as they need to be removed before the roof is resprayed. May be of help to someone in the future. FMJ

Hi guys The LH side is cracked. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement or do I need to go to a main Nissan dealer? This is the plastic trim that is on either side of the roof and runs down to the front wing. Part number 72813M. Any help will be much appreciated thanks FMJ

Elkona judging by your previous response I,d say you are completely mad and unstable, but the above does make sense if no torque wrench is available. You are now considered only mad. Off to the garage to inspect the plugs and talk to them quietly.

Already sorted and the last one in the store Lee
-
Many thanks JP606 that's very helpful. I just need to purchase a torque wrench in the morning. Lee

Hi I'm looking at replacing the spark plugs on the Z this weekend. Does anyone know the torque setting foe the coil pack bolt and the plug itself. Thanks in advance Lee
-
Thanks for the warm welcome guys Off to pick up two spark plugs that are on back order from a Nissan main dealer, they only ordered in four!! any how these two apparently are free of charge said the very embarrassed parts manager

hope this helps http://www.its.co.uk/pd/5250-BLS-Full-Face-Mask-With-Filters-_BLS5250.htm LOL a little overkill but practical. I will stick with the pills and nose spray until it gets really bad!!

I'm glad I just logged on and seen that the z has no pollen filter, i have just popped the bonnet to see where it was! Cheers that's saved me some time. Won't help my hay fever though
