  1. Yep, only been into 3 weeks ownership of my Z and done for speeding. Now come on all you Zebedees, admit it, when you got your Zed you felt the need to exercise it a little. So when I received this official looking letter and opened it, to find speeding offence, it was OMG. Reading further it was for 35 mph on a day when I was out with my dear lady doing my ( previously referred) low rev burbles. Never thought I would be pleased to pay £80 and go on a speed awareness course. But if you come up to Suffolk be aware. I was done going on the A12 through Yoxford and apparently they are there regularly. Also on A12, outskirts of Woodbridge there is a dual carriageway section with a 40 mph limit and they are regularly there especially southbound and they stand before the flashing up slow down 40 mph limit sign. They want your money. So if you come to Suffolk and get behind a gun metal Z doing 31/41 mph don't think what's up with this ****. Wait till we reach, what I still call ,the derestricted sign and I'll be off in the hope the OB do not do any speed checks on the more open roads. Jeff
  2. I had two MOT tyre issues. One I was told would fail as when the rubber was lifted you could see the canvas. The other was cut following an accident but it was not deep and passed its MOT.
  3. If I'm not too late would like one of these kits. Excuse my ignorance but what is a PM versus standard entry. Editor removed my e mail address as my post was not a PM. Jeff E
  4. SIPAR69 may be interested to know there are some 40k Boxsters
  5. I am having this problem. Everything fine when I set off but after half hour or so, when presumably heated up, the pedal does not come back up. First indication is a loud thump as the pedal has stuck when I have taken my foot off and then suddenly unsticks. Then worsens and have to lift it up with my foot. At no time to date have I had a problem with the clutch not engaging/slipping. I am therefore hoping that the posted clevis pin sticking is the cause.
  6. Looks great. Did it hold in place with standard stick on fixings ?
  7. Next week I am about to have my standard alloys done by AW Smart at Waldringfield. They offer two options, cheaper, outers to your colour choice or full which involves tyres off and the works. Cost £408 for 4.My fronts particularly badly scuffed will post on results once done. I am leaving car with them as will be away but have impression turn around is two days. Alex helpful friendly chap and machinery outside confirms they are not cowboys .
  8. I am definitely interested . Distance no problem. MOD EDIT, email deleted, not a good idea to publish it on an open forum. PM the OP is a much better idea, however I'll reinstate your email if you wish.
  9. I guess your surprise at my " almost" V8 burble is because you do not have to do Sunday afternoon drives with your wife when at 1200 rpm in 6th gear and 40 mph in a convertible there is a pleasant burble from the Z. As the owner of a Rover V8 engined TR I was able to make the comparison. North of 4000rpm there is no similarity.
  10. Is your 5' 11" going into a coupe ? Mine is a convertible and wondering if room taken up by hood storage behind the seats means convertible has shorter cabin space ?
  11. Just bought a 350Z convertible and having read the thread agree with many points. Good points, the start up thrum and subsequent burble ( not quite V8 but close) the total tractability at low revs , the gearbox, my wife will come in it with me ( refused in a Boxster) , solid feel, for me enough performance ( same as Honda S2000 and only marginally below Boxster S and way beyond ubiquitous MX5) , impressive appearance and rarity in UK. Bad points, cheap interior, mine fabric seats which have poor quality bolster fabric and just look so drab, I'm 5ft 6" but how could any one above 5ft 10" drive my car which has no reach adjustment for the steering wheel. Summary, for £5k I have a motor which is giving me a lot of pleasure.
  12. Hi, just purchased my first Zed, an 05 convertible, 88K, in unexciting silver ( more dark metallic grey) but my wife likes it and likes the car and will actually come out in it . Won't lower herself into my sons Boxster ! In need of some TLC . Two lady owners originally and then some guy who seems to have been short of money as later service history sparse although oil/filter changes done. Wheels need full refurb and fabric seat bolster been badly stitched. Also small cut in canvas , suspect due to roof up down action. Any useful thoughts appreciated by this novice and in particular where can I get Zed bits and pieces , especially Z doughnuts front and rear. Jeff E ps phone pic too large to download
