  1. Ok, think I have been persuaded to go with the DA now. Due to the horror stories of the soft Nissan paint I've definitely been put off. Done loads of research last night (google+Youtube) and realise you can still get just as good results with a DA than a Rotary. Cheers lads
  2. Great advice, thanks guys
  3. Cheers buddy, masses of information on that site. Just what i needed
  4. I feel confident and cautious enough to use a rotary. Like you say, lots YouTube vids and research, should be ok. Anyway I cant afford £160 after buying that Flywheel from you
  5. Would a DA be powerful enough to remove over spray? When I brought the car nearly 2 years ago, down 1 side it feels and looks like theres some sort of lacquer/top coat over spray.
  6. Thanks everyone. I'm quite a quick but carefull learner so not put off by the rotary. Will have a look about
  7. What's the difference between DA and a rotary? They look very similar
  8. Cheers Rob. I take it the sponges/attachments are all interchangeable... For example better quality attachments from the Dodo Juice machine would fit straight onto a cheaper polishing machine?
  9. Thanks mate will keep a look out for this. Ideally I would like something cheaper, but I'm new to detailing so do not know what compromises there would be in spending less money and if it would affect me
  10. Will be getting my car will be back on the road soon, and its paint work is not in the best condition. Its feeling quite rough and covered in swirls etc. So im planning on buying a polisher and learn how to cut and polish. Has anyone used one of these in the link... or are they just cheap crap? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Polishing-Machine-Polisher-Sander-Buffer-1400W-Tool-Box-XXL-Big-Sponge-Set-/221707761725?hash=item339ecff83d:g:fkkAAOSw~bFWNJUd Or can anyone recommend me a kit for under £100?? Cheers
  11. Amazing thank you!! Thats where i had seen it before. Will be ordering next week ðŸ‘
  12. Looking to buy a Single Mass Flywheel as a replacement. Can anyone recommend where to but one from? Im not keen on spending £400-500, im sure Ive seen some going for about £300-350 but cant remember where. Thanks!!
  13. Never seen a zed this colour. Had chrome wheels, lowered with black rear spatt, looked tidy. Spotted at about 1pm just outside of Kings Lynn. I wasn't too sure about the colour but the mrs and daughter liked it 😀
  14. The same happened to mine. You can remove it without taking the exhaust off, it just needs a bit of persuasion and bending bits of the heat shield to get past certain areas. To remove the backbox you only need to remove 2 bolts and slip it off the hangers, so just as easy to do that rather than struggle with it in the way
  15. I changed mine with car on axle stands in all four corners. It was probably the easiest clutch change ive ever done, the hardest part was splitting the exhaust as the bolts had completely corroded (used angle grinder). Other than that it was a breeze, plenty of room under there!!
  16. Im going to be replacing the rings soon as the oil control rings are worn, could anyone can tell me what size I need? Its a 2004 DE I have seen variations in bore size and also ring depth/thickness IIRC. Also point me in the direction of a trusted UK supplier. Thanks!!
  17. Their just round the corner from me, always wondered if they were any good. See some very nice cars out the front

    Steering Judder

Just thought id update this thread in the hope of helping others in the future. I managed to sort this problem by simply replacing the power steering fluid. Now feels like new, no judder and also softened up the steering slightly
  19. Just have faith in her. Good luck with the MOT
  20. Oh yeah makes sense now. I did know that at some point in my life, just erased from my memory
  21. I always thought it was spelt like that
  22. Car flew through its MOT today. No advisories, nothing, nada!! Well chuffed!! Was dreading this more than usual as its the first MOT ive put her in for since owning the car (car was brought with a fresh MOT). Also had only just finished some major work to the top end of the engine 2 days ago. Its nice finally being in the position of knowing where you stand with the car, like the condition etc. Also now feel like I know my way around her after taking it to pieces various times over the last year... replaced clutch, flywheel, valve stem seals, exhaust, decats, servicing and lots of other little bits. She was only off the road for about 2 weeks while I completed some work, but have completely fallen in love with her all over again. Its like having another child in the family, no matter how naughty it is, you always end up brushing it off and forgiving. Also I could never have done as much as I have to the car without the wealth of information and help that this forum provides. So a massive thanks to this amazing forum and its dedicated members Will hopefully make some effort to attend some meets this year, so will see you around.
  23. Thanks for the appreciation people!! Yeah that's 1 reason I chose the gold, also think it will go well with the body colour.
  24. A few months ago I used a brass wire attachment on a drill, and then sanded it down. Took a lot of time and effort, and still had a few areas that I wasn't happy with
