Okay, that's good to know. It's never intrusive and some cars I have had have been borderline deafening, so it's quite a mild pipe really.

Popped down to sunny Leicester today and Cougar Store duly fitted my Cobra exhaust and Y pipe for me. Early (70 mile) impressions are:- Louder on start-up, as expected. A little boomy around town at certain revs, but nothing bad. Motorway work, a tad boomy at 60-70, but almost gone by 78-80. A few trips to the redline show a little more eagerness to rev and a lovely sound above 5,000rpm. The tyre noise on these is almost always still the loudest thing. For £900 fitted you cannot go wrong. Great value.

Many of the restrictions do harm times though. A bigger engine might be able to run lower boost, etc. Wider wheels may well help traction. Intake size, etc., are restricted. I was amazed at how many rules there are.

A car in build that i'm sure most of you will like!

But also, I won't suggest anything again, obviously! -

Lexx, you may well be right, I will decide in due course whether I continue to give my time to this site. I am a moderator on 2 other car forums so i am not exactly bored! Yes, I do think a photo with your name on a piece of paper is silly for most items. Nether site above ask for that. So why here? Maybe you should remove the ''suggestions'' section if ideas which members have grate with you so much? Easier uploading and less ads rules and red tape would be much better. I won't lie. -
To get the power down to tyres and get to 330+ in 440 yards is incredible. But it's the first second that really amazes. You'd think getting away would be toughest. I often wonder what they could do without the 100+ regulations. Engine size, blower size, tyre size, etc.

0-90 is very relevant on the road. We all spend 99% of our time below 90. You certainly don't need higher cornering speeds amongst the public than the Merc has. -

New Scooby is a fossil. Car mags gave it 3/5 stars. Hopelessly dated in so many ways. 500cc bigger han the A45 yet more laggy. Horrible interior. Crashed saloon looks like the Evo. It looks like someone randomly modded a taxi after 12 pints. The Merc is in another league. Also it goes to 414 bhp for a grand. The Scooby would be really laggy with that power. Great buy used, mind you. Scoobys have had their day like the Evo did. -
Price-wise it's expensive if someone looks at the year, many do. It's actually great value for the right buyer and as ever that's what you need, the right person. I advertised my mint/modded 1981 Citroen 2CV in April everywhere. £5,500 no offers. It was in great condition with many improvements. All I got was one numpty asking me why it had a new chassis. (The stock ones rot like hell). Then a woman offers me £6,600! Just takes one buyer.

That's because it is a very hot hatch, but being inside that thing was very plush. Great seats, s/wheel, pedals, ICE, comfort. -
To explain, I meant that show bikes which are taken by a van to a show and taken back home in a van bore me. That is what I meant. The GSXR in question has lots of nice extras. I had a GSXR1000K5 which i liked a lot. The Ducati is a 2013 Panigale 1199 and has 6,700 miles on the clock. No show bike!

Spurs; no mine had a 210 bhp 3.0 V6 like the one in other Renaults from that era. Quick and quirky car. Rare sight now.
-
I have always liked Citroens. Had 5 2CVs, an Avantime (2 door people carrier!) and a few others, like a DS23.
-
Show bikes are boring. Bikes you can actually use without worrying about a puddle somewhere are way better. Your GSXR looks great. If I was looking for a Jap litre bike I would be interested. I am fairly spent out at the moment having decided to pay off the Ducati loan last month. Somebody will get a nice bike.

Like the sporty ones, but buy used, as values drop as fast as a 70s TV celebrity runs when the door bell rings.

0-153 in 9.33 is my best ever quarter. Sounds slow now!

I just put the phone down to a journo in LA who has been speaking with a guy with a 1950s technology Top Fuel Yank V8 racer. No overhead cams. Pushrods. 2 valves per cylinder. 0-335mph in 4.4 seconds! With the first 120mph taking one second! 0-120 in a second? How the heck do those drivers not pass out?

I hope you are right, but some people are paying £42K used at the moment for speccd ones! It's got Lancer Evo FQ360 shove; without the crashed taxi looks, the 18 mpg and the Ferarri service costs! -

It will be a very long time before the A45AMG gets to £20K. 5 years at least. -

The A45AMG is special. The interior is beautiful. It is a proper AMG, despite the small engine. Deffo, most people don't want impractical now. We are a demanding lot! Look at 370 used prices. Also, yep, the 235i is better than the 135i for me, but many will want the space in the hatch. Only 5 bhp more is pretty poor, though. If there's a 380 bhp M2, i will probably get one a year old. -

It did have slight lag, but with 414 bhp from 1991cc, it would! After 2,200 rpm it flew. Lovely stuff. -

Yes you could buy my old Ferrari 550 Maranello for £50K and it would be more special. But a hot hatch with the 0-100 of a Porsche 911 3.8 is pretty special to me. One that does 40 mpg and has 5 doors. Useable performance is what makes it special too. £38K. My son in law's Mondeo company car dev was £31,000. -
156 2.4 are out there silly cheap with low miles, btw.

Simplify the for sale regulations. Minimum 15 posts is fine. But that's it. Let members advertise their wares without silly restrictions and complications. No photo requirement. I can't easily get a good photo of underneath my car, eg. I don't do photo sites. Many of us don't. Those wishing to buy can request a photo, if need be. Let's keep it simple and easy, like the 2 USA forms I moderate on.
