  1. Some bodyshops will cut out the rusted part and replace with new sheet metal, rather than removing a whole panel
  2. I want to change to white reflectors in the front bumper. Who is doing these and are they difficult to fit? I assume its a bumper off job? (I don't want lights in there, just different reflectors) Thanks Jamie
  3. Thanks mate, that's great! White reflector is a definite I reckon, but I still cant decide on wheel colour. Did you have a preference, I'm interested in other peoples views. I think the dark grey definitely needs the polished lip but would then look great, in fact they'd all look good with the shiny lip. Decisions...
  4. That's the one - my new toy. Thanks. Not the best picture as it does nothing for the colour of the car - which is far nicer in sunshine, but the wheels need cleaning up and I would like to see different colours before making my mind up on which way to go. Still undecided whether to keep the diamond cut rims and just colour the spokes or have the whole wheel painted/powder coated? Am thinking white/clear reflectors in the bumper would be good too.
  5. I had a request for you but can't for the life of me get bloomin photobucket to work, it just keeps on kicking up error messages. I wanted to see what my car would look like with the wheel spokes refurbed in different colours. Currently they are silver with polished edged and im thinking of going either gold, charcoal or white. If you have a look at the thread Bems recently started called Gone but not forgotten, there is a picture in there you could use. Only if you're really bored...
  6. Blimey, I picked my Zed up in Aberdeen last week and drove virtually to London (535 miles) and only managed 28mpg for the trip. I did hit a lot of traffic and stop started for a few hours in the south of Scotland but I did pass many hours cruising at 70 and then about 70 miles sticking to 50 in average speed cameras in the numerous road works I encountered. You did far better than I did.
  7. Those wheels look fantastic on your car
  8. Hi everyone. I have indeed bought this little beauty - after what felt like months and texts and messages and most likely driving Bems mad while I waited to get up to Scotland. The journey home took a bit longer than expected due to bad weather, numerous crashes around the south of Scotland and then when I finally thought I was on the last leg, at around midnight, the M6 was shutdown causing a detour around the Midlands. There was numerous sets of roadworks to get through too and I think of the 535 miles I did that afternoon/evening to get her home, at least 60 to 70 of them were stuck in 50mph average speed areas with no actual works being done to the road. Helped my mpg I guess. Anyway, all is well and I made it home by 1.45am. By 9am, she was covered in snow foam and a good clean ensued. She's as good as new once again I'm pleased to say! Must also add that as I was by myself, the Bose took a bashing the whole way home and CD skipping was minimal, which was a pleasant surprise after all I've heard about them. Once I work out how to upload photos I'll add a comment in the introduction page and I'm looking forward to being a part of the Zed community. Cheers Bems for everything and for keeping her so well, she's a credit to you. Good luck to you and your family with number 2 Jamie
  9. I test drove a Zed a few months back that had a cobra pipe, could barely hear myself talk when I put my foot down, was stupidly loud. Whats the difference between res and non-res?
  10. I quite like a light battleship grey as long as its got a high gloss finish. Also I think the new BMW 6 series comes in metallic, almost pearl grey which looked nice. Worth a look
  11. Strange but I've always had a soft spot for an mgb gt also
  12. Looks a beauty! Are service intervals a killer like the newer ones?
  13. Hi Itchy. How oes it compare to an e46 m3? I had the chance to buy my cousins one from him recently so slightly less than the price of a Zed. Immaculate 55 plate in that nice blue but as it had just hit 100k miles I declined. Are they as good as the hype?
  14. Looks good Kelvin. Where did you get them from?
  15. Im hoping to come up in a couple of weeks to pick up a Zed. It's looking like I'll be coming alone so it's going to be a very long drive back!
  16. I bought some autoglym spray on stuff but haven't used it as I'm worried about coating the disks. I guess its a wheels off job?
  17. Back on track, in my Renaultsport days lots of people used DS2500 pads and liked them. I recall them being quite dusty though I think.
  18. How was the trip to Scotland from London? What route did you take and how long was the drive? I'll soon be doing it but the other way around

Fordie1971, I did consider an older car as what looks like an immaculate black 04 gt has turned up local to me with less than 60k on the clock and its up for £6k. But I recently sold an 04 BMW 330ci that looked to be a great car and soon become a money pit hence turning my attention to something newer. Also I've heard that the HR is better than the DE, which is better than the older model - but that's just what I hear and I have no experience of owning any. I do prefer the interior of the newer car, but I'm not a fan of the cost of road tax so they all have pros and cons I guess

I don't really have a set budget as such and am open to any year between 07 and 09 as I understand there were no changes made. Feel free to correct me if that's not the case. As long as I can justify the cost to myself that's fine. By that I mean I couldnt justify say £12k on an 07 with high miles as it would be too expensive, however for the right car I could possible justify going that high (though no higher ideally). I do want something with low miles and full history and preferably something that won't need much doing to it. Not fussed about mods, would far rather a good example of a standard car than something that has had loads done - although I am open to a modded car, just not too modded. Last couple I had seen have both had around 60k miles and appeeared to shortly need clutches, hence a low mile car and with good documentation being important as I certainly wouldn't want to be hit with a bill for best part of two grand shortly after having bought the car. Oh, and I really would prefer black leather

Looking for a Zed ASAP. Preferably a dark color. Please let me know if you're thinking of selling. Many thanks Jamie
  23. Christ I bet a TT 350 is crazy to drive! Would love a toy like that but don't reckon I have the knowledge to own one and keep it running. I had an rs2000 years ago with a stupidly tuned mountune engine in it that required something fixing on it at least once a month. I vowed after that to stick to stock motors and if I wanted fast cars just buy one that is fast as standard. Would still secretly love it though
