  1. Hi Si, I've got to say these look amazing. I want These!!! Could you PM me details ie price/how long to complete.

    Thanks

As Rob's said, there's a Group Buy going on for interiors that closes at the end of this month - have a look at the link he provided and see what you think, mate

  2. Hey all

Newbie z owner in the area :) in leconfield, just outside hull.

Thought I'd say hi, and gutted I missed the Whitby drive on 24th!

Has the 24th May gone already?? ;)

  3. I had a mad idea to do the top half of the seat upright in white leather - now I've seen everything actually in the car, I'm glad we didn't go ahead with that!

They really do finish the cabin off nicely, along with all the carbon skinned and white painted accents :)

  4. Dave collected his parts yesterday morning. Then came back today so I could get some pictures of everything back in it's proper place! :D

    So here they are:

And the car itself. Absolutely beautiful machine!!

So, many thanks to Dave for letting me loose on his gorgeous 370Z Roadster and thanks for driving back today so I could get some snaps. Glad you're over the moon with everything, mate!

  5. Can Hide n seek do these at this kinda cost?? Mondo was it??

    Short answer is "no"

It takes me a full day at least to fit a pair of new doorcard skins and it takes a lot of hi-temp adhesive to ensure that the covers won't lift at all. Also, to get the best possible fit and finish, I strip the original "honeycomb" covering off so I have the totally bare doorcard to trim on.

It's hard work making and certainly fitting the 350Z covers that I make. I can't (and won't even attempt to) match that price, but then all anyone has to do with my retrimmed doorcards is refit them ;)

  6. In the bright light of a new day, these look like classy seats :)

I was unsure about the "Z" stamping as both myself and the firm who made the stamp for me were unsure how good an impression I'd get without using a mechanical press (which I don't have access to, sadly).

There were quite a few trial runs on some leather scraps while I figured out how hot to make the stamp and how much pressure to apply, as my first go made a good impression but the diagonal centre line was missing :(

I'd personally have preferred a slightly deeper imprint, but then the risk is there of damaging the finish on the leather and having to start all over again.

As it is, the imprints add a nice (but very expensive) finishing touch and definitely help this interior to stand out from the crowd!

  7. Question. Are most of us planning to dismantle and courier up to Si ?. Happy about getting the seats out, just a bit nervous about the process for removing door cards. Been on 350Z Tech and there is a good guide. More concerned about the refit and not damaging Simons work putting it back together. I am 365 miles from Si so its courier for me..

The doorcards are a doddle to remove and refit. The biggest headache is holding them while you refit the pull handles!

You shouldn't end up running any risk at all of damaging the new covers when you're refitting

  8. So the seats are now complete :D

Black leather with white perforated centres, and also black perforated "wings" as I thought they'd add a little something extra to the overall look:

And as a little extra "something," how about the 370Z logo stamped into the headrests?!

An expensive business, getting leather stamps custom made!!

    C'mon then, let's have some opinions.... :)

  9. Based on the pictures, I'd say that the new dash needs to be angled in at the top quite a lot.

As others have said, having it flush with the bezel is going to spoil the display. It looks like the bezel sits vertically, but the gauges themselves are angled up towards the driver's face (based on the driver's face sitting a foot or so higher than the instrument cluster).

    :)

  10. Today finds us getting to the nitty gritty of things, so we now have a driver's seat base completed. The passenger side just needs fitting and that'll be done too :)

So these seats will be black leather with white stitching, with perforated white leather centres. The black perforated hump, however, will make more sense later on.... ;)

  11. Excellent thread. I hope this goes well for you. Fantastic opportunity for Bespoke at keen price. Just a thought, does the cost alter for 350z gt seats as fitted with side airbags, and non gt./jdm often aren't. :)

The cost for each customer will be individual to them, based upon their requirements and the material(s) they want.

The pricing example I used at the top was solely an example, so as to illustrate the scope of the potential savings. Having trimmed 350Z seats both with and without the side airbags, I can confirm that the airbag-equipped models would cost very marginally more to trim than the non-SRS seats. As in about an extra £20 - £25 in total.

And thanks for the well-wishes too!
