  1. The z handles well from the off and isnt overweight when compared to similar cars (m3 for example). I think some of the problem with the z is the alignment makes it feel heavier than it is Nissan ran the z in gt300 and gt500 so it cant be 'that' bad to start with lol
  2. Yeah I know the corner you mean, apparenlty you nail that corner when ypu can take it flat out, zero lift or braking.... Ive not wuite got there yet lol!
  3. I love cadwell, fantaztic circuit. Im booked on for the 28th april if you fancy it
  4. Oh i'll be asking lol And yeah I know drifting is all about grip, especially at the power levels theyre running. Its just at the front they aim to have the wheels steer parallel and flat which doesnt work as well for track stuff, or so was my underatanding? But some caster, camber and and ackerman should get it somewhere near for my needs? The scrub radius on inital inspection looks good but theres not a lot of kpi which doeant bode well for cambwr gain, may have to rely on caster and static camber and not a lot of roll. Another thing im thinking already is to change the spacing on the pick up for the tie rod end to add a little bunp steer and improve turn in
  5. Mark, Ill be honest I didnt underatand all of that completely :/ lol Your help is appreciated however so bare with me... Im aware its dedigned run with no arb but I am in the process of getting booked in at apw engineering for exhaust and headers amd they are also going to fab a roll bar mount on the front arms to add that back Ive bought the ackerman adjust kit to move that to a better place for grip work, beyond that I think there is enough adjustability in the rest to get a grip setup, wspecially with the roll centre being corrected there wont be a lot of bump steer and camber gain?
  6. Mine are 18x8.5 et35 I think so not great, looked good with a 25mm spacer and wide enough for a 255tyre, although im gonna shoe horn 265's on before cadwell
  7. From the way the z engine moves on the mounts, my money on these not being better than a damper...... But im keen to see the results
  8. Try and find a set of second hand desmond regamasters - can be gotten for Rays money and are much lighte
  9. Even without the lower arm (which i wanted to increase track width without spacers) and add spl compression bushes and uprated lower arm and shock bushes...... Youre back at good value for wisefab lol Whats the difference between the windows? For the rearvI just need a template
  10. @veilside - I was laughing about it on the day lol youve gotta laugh about these things really, could have been so much worse! @gt4zed - i dont think its overkill dude, the lock is but that will be reduced when I add the arb mount. The roll centre correction is worth its weight in hold in my opinion. It has such a huge effect on a cars handling ability. Spl camber arm and tie rod ends, and tein tie rods was going to cost me £1100 :/ I wanted the fontana lower ams too which wrre another £800......makesbthe wisefab kit good value for money imo
  11. Its a pre revup lower (which has longer runners and so designed to work best at a lower rpm) with the tops of the front two ports flattened off to increase airflow over them. I belive there is pics in my build thread from when I did it. 5min job with a flap wheel on a grinder
  12. Ackerman adjustment is aomething ill be looking into early as parallel steering is going to be no good in a grip situation
  13. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrub_radius Good littlw read up on scrub radius And as for width, cant rwally find any figures but a 9.5j et12 on wisefab set up is 6ft7 overall width. Looking at pictures of others, id guess at 30mm each side. Im on 25mm spacers so hoping i can get away with just removing those
  14. Well, as some already know I ****ed up on the arms I failed to check the grade of Ally I ordered and ordered stuff which was too soft, coupled with the annealing from the welding softening it further - well long sotry short the threads on the rose joint stripped whilst I was driving it and the passenger side of the car collapsed. Wing is damaged, tie rod bent, sideskirt ruined, inner arch ripped out - hopefully the coilover survived! 20160306_142451 by ben taylor, on Flickr Annoyed? Very! Such a schoolboy error! But all part of the R&D process I guess. So moving on with the build, and trackday season looming I moved on from trying to make my own arms and decided to just order some. That it seems was a dangerous decision as, after weighing up the costs involved vs available adjustability, I ended up ordering this.... The range of adjustability on the kit is amazing! Roll centre is corrected, adjustable camber, caster, ackerman, adjustable shock mount point to fine tune suspension stiffness, the track is wider so meaning a better scrub radius is attainable etc simply amazing! And it weighs the same as the stock setup, so no unnecessarily added weight. The only drawback is the lack of ARB mount (as the ARB restricted the lock) So I will have to add one of these and then a lock stop to stop the wheel banging against the roll bar. Lessons learnt? Absolutely - but onwards and upwards and cant wait to play with this kit on track - Though I suspect I will have to order the rear kit later this year...... Booked Cadwell for the 28th April so the pressures on now to get the car to a trackable state!
  15. Jesus!! Not good puts me off even contemplating it in the future
  16. So is time attack pirellis only now?
  17. I found that with mine too, narrower front tyre really kicks in some understeer Gotta update my projevt thread, but my cuatom arms failed. Completely my fault, i didnt check the spec of the ally before i ordered it and with the welding as well it was too soft. Threads pulled straight out. Because of the looming trackday season ive just bought the wisefab front setup, roll centre correction and adjustable everything
  18. What arms, alignment, tyre sizes etc etc lol
  19. Mark Id love to see some more info on yours and lizards cars the setup, spec etc Was watching a video of you in lizards car the other and the car looked very well setup
  20. We could get some load thongies Tim and attach tobsuspension and measure with and without downforce? Would help us with setup too to balance it all
  21. I havent driven silverstone but have heard the same as Ekona just said above. Flat and boring.
