  1. Nice pic Briggsy. I have looked at the ZLEDS site which has been mentioned a few times in this forum but that guy is in the US and says he is far too busy for any new enquires. (That made me laugh)... I know nothing about electronics and so i'm asking whether anyone please knows of a place where I can get some aftermarket LED's and have them fitted as fog's and/or into the headlight cluster assembly?
  2. Chaps, I am thinking of getting some LED's for the front of my Zed. Just wondering if anyone has these and where you got them done? I saw another post on here of someone who bought them on Ebay and then fitted them vertically in place of the reflectors. I think this would look good but I also noticed that you can purchase them built into a new headlight assembly albeit a lot more expensive. Can anyone recommend a good shop to purchase and fit these? Ta
  3. Thanks for your reply. I have read this from another post on here too and have tried the steps you suggest regarding the mirrors and the button but no response. With the absence of any power to the Sat Nav, Fog light switch inop, corner sensors not working and now the mirrors; I have reached the logical deduction that the wiring in this car is buggered.
  4. Thanks guys. Yes it makes sense that the Sat Nav may be disconnected and its a redundant feature at present so no big deal. There is a rocker switch to the right under steering column but it does not operate the fogs. I will check fuses. I can live without the mirrors tilting although I thought this was a feature of the ST. The corner sensors are a mystery. I want them working esp, due to the zed's big butt. - Anyone know what the little button labelled 'Auto' is for located near TCS switch right side under steering column?
  5. Hi People. The following issues regarding my 05/06 JDM Fairlady Z are driving me potty. * Why is there no power to my Sat Nav? *Why there appear to be front and rear fogs but no fog switch? *Why the corner sensors (button located under steering column) are inop? *Why the reverse tilt action on wing-mirrors are not working? I have identified this car as being the ST Model and research shows that these items do come as standard - However, now I am wondering if these are all gimmicks and just added to the car without being fully functional? I have contacted Nissan UK and sent an email to Nissan Japan but not holding out much hope for a response. If I could get hold of the manual for this specific vehicle, I would be a lot wiser. Anyone any ideas besides ebay? I have tried. Cheers
  6. Hi Folks, Just wondering if anyone has had any problems getting the parking sensors (front & rear) to operate on their JDM? On mine there is a button under the steering column labelled 'corner sensors' but I guess this is inop as no response when I push it. Because the Sat Nav is in Japanese, i'm wondering if this needs to be working (rear camera?) for the sensors to work .. Anyone with a JDM any clue? Cheers
  7. Thanks for your input boys. Clark, that looks perfect. Many Thanks.
  8. I have been wondering why people's lights have been burning into the back of my head .. duh... the speedo is in km/h only. Just wondering if anyone has had their speedo converted or purchased a MPH gauge as an addition.. Would I need to alter the gearing to accomplish this? Anyone know where would be a good place to start looking?
  9. Thank you for responses. I am waiting for logbook to arrive from DVLA. The HPI does not state year of manufacture - only year of import. Very simply, I bought the car because I liked it. However, its human nature for people to have their opinions on what I 'should' have done beforehand. Im not complaining, just want to establish the year of the car. A few more details - the rear tail lights are LED cluster, full leather + version S Spec and no twin air intake (2006 model I think) thanks boyzzzz
  10. Hi folks - I recently purchased a JDM Fairlady Z (ST Model) from a trader & im trying to establish the year of manufacture. Here is what I know: It was registered in this country as a 2010 after being shipped in from Japan with 3,800KM. I do know that the 350Z was produced until 2009 and the later versions were the Nizmo models. The engine has one air inlet rather than two and is placarded as Z33. The engine type is a VQ35DE which makes me think it may be a 55/06 year as the HR versions were 07/08. However, I believe the VQ35DE was also in production for the 350Z in 2007. My question is whether there is anyway to absolutely pinpoint what year the car is? Thank you
  11. Cheers for all responses Boyz. I believe I will follow the advice & take it to an Independent. There is no guarantee I will avoid a spotted dick but at least I wont be paying £318 for it
  12. Folks. I have just purchased my Fairlady Z from a Trader who tells me its been serviced very recently. I have verified this and it wasn't a main dealer service. However, naturally I want to put it thru one of my own, however Nissan want £318 for the full Man Service but they will conduct a free health check beforehand. Was wondering what people's thoughts are about using an independent garage for a service rather than a Nissan outlet. Any advice appreciated.
  13. The dude said that Nitrogen will help with keeping the tyres cool, maintaining tyre pressure & longevity but he may have been full of hot air himself. Providing there is no disadvantage to using this instead of air, I will probably go for it as he will do it free. Cheers for your posts.
  14. Popped into my local garage recently to get a quote on the rears and was advised to have the tyres filled with Nitrogen. Anyone any opinions on this ??
  15. Thanks! My Fairlady Z has done 40,000miles and was just wondering what y'all recommend regarding miles to look at timing chain replacement? What rear tyres (manufacturer) are people using? Ta
  16. Thanks Folks. Great replies.
  17. Hi folks, Just purchased a second hand Fairlady Z Auto and was wondering if anybody knows if the timing belt is a belt or a chain as this is an imported model. Also, apologies if this has been mentioned in other posts, which is the best fuel to use? Should I use the premium or regular unleaded and why? Many Thanks
