  1. Fair enough ......... Still dont like them though
  2. Looks nice and if I was well into my jap cars I'm sure I'd love it ! But would be wasted on me ! Don't have a clue who Tommy is and to me at least looks like a lot of aftermarket stuff put on a car with a signature on everything and that's about all !
  3. Had great times in my r26 ...... Not been in the new trophy though .... Should try it really , but yes was hoping to get something with good build quality to be honest !!
  4. Just wandered , as other cars such as the m3 v8 , people think it has to have a warranty as they are expensive to fix ! Bmw warranty is £1200 a year! Same as servicing a gtr for the year then ......
  5. Again out of my price range I can see myself getting something around the 30k mark with a view of the next car in say 2-3 years being the car i really want . To get a gtr that i would want , they are 45k . Im not quite in a position to be able to comfortably afford that right now . Got to be realistic about these things really ! If i had a garage ( or if all my work equipment didnt take up my workshop space !) i would love to run a lotus / more track focused car . But as it will have to live outside , i couldnt do it . Appreciate all the feed back and suggestions though My mind is still telling me m3 v8 .......
  6. Yes, budget about £1000-£1200 / year for service, one is only oil and filter. Really not that expensive to maintain for what the car can do. Let's meet up and I'll take you for a spin if you've never been in one before. Adrian do you run a warranty on your gtr?
  7. Could never live with the looks . Most of the time it's sat on the drive and I look at the car out the kitchen window .... And the type r would put me off my breakfast !!
  8. ..... Ya that's what I came to the conclusion about the z4 as well .... I'd get bored of it !
  9. Did consider z4m coupe .... Might go and test drive the mustang as well .... But even if i love it I know it's a stupid buy . I think after the big drama of its release in a years time , when fuel goes up the v8's will take a massive hit ..... And then it will get compared to other v8's , such as the m3 , which is better by all accounts .
  10. I've had lots of hot hatches Polo g40 Pug gti6 x2 Pug 306 rallye Leon cupra r Ibiza cupra r 172 cup Meg r26 So I think im looking for something a bit more grown up now . Although I have had some really good times in my hot hatches but all the new stuff just shouts chav I think
  11. Adrian , are the gtr's ment to be serviced every 6 months or is it 6k miles?
  12. Haha love the m3's in white !!! All of the above are just to old for my likening
  13. No don't regret selling as I think I would have just kept plowing money into the zed and still not be 100% happy with it .........
  14. That's my problem ..... Think I need to find / save another 5k , as at 40k you get a lot more choice .
  15. Grudz. ^ really like those , but being fibreglass I would really worry how it would hold up having to live outside .
  16. Considered that actually but wrote it off due to having to live outside , and not much fun other than when going full beans in it . Looks to be a great example though
  17. The problem is I'm finding that for a 911 gtr or other such cars .... They are above my budget of max 35k and even at 40k you are getting the cheapest/ worst ones to pick from . My reasoning for an m3 is , v8 , Rev to 8300rpm , get a good choice of low mileage ones in my budget , already lost a huge amount in depreciation , dct is pretty flipping good !
  18. As a few of you know I sold my beautiful zed with the plan of taking on a gt4 ( and a financial commitment with it ! ) However my friend is keeping the gt4 for a bit longer , so looking into a new car . 30-35k max budget Nothing really old Top of my list is a nice e92 m3 competition pack . ......other than that I'm a little stumped !! Any suggestions ?
  19. Absolutely crazy to buy a new car at your age on your wage and living at home . These sort of decisions will end up costing you so so much in the future imo. Whoever thinks buying a house is not a good idea then I completely disagree ..... In the long run its a wise decision , as in the end you will be paying a lot less for a mortgage than you would in rent , and actually own something at the end . I do however agree house prices are utterly crazy at the moment . If you can't afford the to buy the car outright then don't buy it would be my advice . Save and then but one in a years time for under 30k I reckon . Just my opinion though .... But saving and not ticking up stuff has served me very well over the years .
  20. No worries man Glad you got home ok . Was great to meet you and your dad , and I'm sure the car will serve you well ! Stick around on here as there are some very knowledgeable , friendly people
  21. Well it's gone Thank you all for your kind words about the car ! Went to a great chap called George ... Who I feel will look after the car as well as I did . I'll be sticking around here as , like many others , find it a great forum with some top people on it ! Mods please lock . Gtr gt4 r8 time :)
