  1. Privilege have listed my 3 mods as:- Airfilter +0bhp, (injen air induction) Airfilter +5bhp, (plenum spacer) Stainless steel exhaust +0bhp. those 3 added £15.50 to my policy and they increased my compulsory excess from £350 to £550 because of the mods. Christ its hard to specify when insurers have limited lists.
  2. great. what does it do? part of my injen air induction system?
  3. another question. what is a plenum spacer classified as? my insurer cant see it in his list of mods?
  4. How much bhp gain does my plenum spacer give? No remapping has been done but I have been told that remapping is only significant if there is a new ECU. As my car is 10 yrs old, I probably have less bhp than it started with, so do insurers take that into account? eg. I had 286bhp to start, if plenum spacer added +20bhp and took it to 306bhp, after 10 yrs my car is probably back to 286bhp?
  5. Thanks for your help, all of you. I'm about to insure with Privilege. They quoted £207 fully comp! the cheapest. GT pack was factory fitted. Can you tell me how much bhp the plenum spacer has added?
  6. Hello guys, please can you help me? I am due to renew my insurance and I want to be as completely honest as possible, but I am struggling with some answers. I'm unsure if my car has been modded much, but I'm aware that insurers don't accept ignorance as an excuse! The guy I bought it from in 2005 said that it had a GT Pack fitted as standard in the factory from new. Which was sat nav, rays alloys, silver metal door kick bars. are these classed as mods or standard? My ex-boyfriend then replaced the exhaust. It now has a left and right exhaust end pipe. Its stainless steel twin. Does this add bhp? What did my original exhaust look like? twin still? He also fitted a Plenum. carbon fibre engine top. Does this add bhp? He also fitted an Injen air filter. How do insurers classify this? as an upgraded air filter? or an induction system? Does my Injen add bhp? My insurer only seems bothered if it adds bhp. My 350Z is 10 yrs old now, so if any of these mods did add bhp, wouldn't it have been lost now as its old and untuned? Do insurers want to know how much bhp was added "in theory" or "in actual practice"? my car pics of engine and exhaust are in my profile gallery folder "jan 2014"

  16. Thanks Pete. Very quick turn around. poppers arrived yesterday and this morning I fitted them. the boot now opens much easier with 1 hand ! instead of, my left hand clicking the button, whilst my right hand lifted the boot up, then left hand clicking button again!!!!!!! but can I ask you a question, I cant remember how the boot opened when I first bought the car! now, with 1 click of the boot button, the boot poppers strongly lift the boot about 2 inches. then with the same hand I still need to lift the boot up another 2 inches until the gas struts take over and lift the boot all the way up. is this normal? I cant remember!!! or when I click the boot button, should the boot lift the whole way up in 1 movement without more help? with the boot poppers doing the 1st bit and the gas struts taking over from them directly. I replaced my gas struts 2 years ago from SGS Engineering . and at the time I was disappointed because it didn't fix my boot opening problem. but then I read that I should change my boot poppers too!

  19. which trader on here would sell the genuine Nissan mats? I found some cheap plain ones on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221094795216?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  20. That sounds really risky! I wouldn't dare base it on just that calculation. But I do see where u r coming from. what about the times when u put ur foot down coming out of a roundabout etc, ur calculation doesn't take that into account. I would be too scared of running out of petrol completely. That would really be an inconvenient day for me! Hehe
