+1 that rust doesn't look bad at all and its present on easily removable chassis braces. Front subframe I would look to treat however and of course spend some time on the arches.

Carried over from my build thread, as figured it would give some insight to anyone thinking of getting one. Mine in particular is a used Tarmac Sportz offering. Very well made with nice fixtures, however this one did need new holes drilling at the rear (next to existing ones) to keep the undertray taught - easy 2mins job. Using the existing x2 rear mounting holes, would cause the tray to sag a touch near the sump. Not an issue other than the reduced ride height when clearing speed bumps and for car on coilovers, an adjustment was sort. The undertray comes in 2 parts, which allows for easy of shipping and overall length adjustability of several mm via elongated holes. This along with the elongated mounting holes (laterally) for the front bumper attachment, means fitting is very straight forward. First time using the ally undertray and while the hatch is a fab idea, I didn't enjoy the experience. R&D was clearly done on a 2 poster ramp and changing the oil filter on axle stands required yoga. Clear access provided for the sump plug however I found myself undoing with one hand and then tighten the new filter with the other remotely. Next time il raise the car higher to allow for better reach of the oil filter, but there still no chance of whipping you hand away with the old filter in an effort to not get hot oil down your arm. Ideal access would place you right underneath the hatch and in the oil or lying with you feet under the passenger side sill. Its a big time saver not having to remove 300 10mm bolts, but I would always jack up and remove the OE undertray while allowing the engine to warm up ie overlapping labour. Then with the tray fully removed I like to inspect the radiator, lower coolant hoses and clips, ARB bushes, engine pulleys and front main seal. All while giving the sump and subframe and quick wiper over to keep the grim down. On newer cars or for owners who take their car to a garage for service, fantastic. For cars getting on a bit (as all our 350z's are now and like the service them ourselves).... I didn't enjoy the experience. Felt like I was checking the levels on a Audi A2 using the service panel. Unless your OE engine undertray is toast, save the £££ for other mods.

Annual service, summer wheels swap over and Spring refresh. While it was up I thought it prudent to combine a few jobs. First time using the ally undertray and while the hatch is a fab idea, I didn't enjoy the experience. Full details here Ally undertray review Gearbox oil change next. Old v new with a tube of moly slip mixed in beforehand. On to the brake fluid change. Worked furthest away from the ABS pump, inner then outter bleed nipples. Mucky stuff done, now on to much of the same. Never realised that panel came off. Front weren't looking to bad. Fuel pipe trim cover. Arches left to dry over night before undersealing. All four aches inspected before masking off. Both rear side skirt traps were also cleaned and rust treated at the same time. Rear bat caves protected. Found a cheeky panel by the rear spring seat, cleaned and treated. Fuel filler pipe cover cleaned and dressed *front and back. All arches protected and trims where later treated with CarChem trim dressing. My idea of topping up ones protection. Old side steps had served their time well. The wrap had started to fail in areas and I had cracked the NSR when jacking up previously. Still a great investment for £38 all those years ago. Oddly the self tapper that had the cover on was more corroded that the one without, retention of moisture no doubt. New item to go on but not before a quick polish to bring up the finish. 50/50 Greased the bolts in situ and offered the skirt up to make a template, almost there with the pre markers. Almost.... The rusty grooves on the discs needed attention. Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 turns black after curing, not sure how it'll deal with the heat if at all but only one way to find out. Discs were sanded prior to fitting wheels. Replacement rear fitting kit as the old ones had pitted. Neglected wheel boss 50/50 Autoglym Magma iron fallout remover, left to dwell for 10mins, agitated and rinsed. Clean with Turtle Wax car shampoo to help neutralise any remaining fallout remover and rinsed. Protected front and back with TW hybrid spray sealant. Decent innings: - Engine oil and filter change - Castrol Edge 5w30 - Gearbox oil change - Fuchs Titan Race Synchro 75w90 with moly slip - Brake fluid change - Mobile 1 dot 5.1 - x4 wheel arches clean, protected and dressed - rear side skirt traps cleaned and treated - x discs groves rust treated - new rear brake fitting kit - New side steps refined and installed - 19' ES2 cleaned, protected and fitted Next engine bay, bodywork, door shuts and interior.......

Nice one fella, naturally I've been eagerly awaiting this to air - think it'll really bring the idea of discomfort benefit out to the public. Been a good while since updating the thread. Few walks already around our local reservoir, spotted a decent point of entry to the brook nearby where it looked deep enough for a dip. - Girls, daddies going for a dip. - yeahhh, can we come? Horse dance afterwards in the sun *End of Feb this was. This part of the brook had rushing water as it's recently just dropped down a few levels at this point. Literally wasn't bad at all, 6.5/10 on the terrible meter.

After years and years of debating which exhaust to go for, I opted for a custom build set up and highly recommend. As long as you go to a reputable outlet, the quality will be excellent and noise can be made to suit - plus it'll come with a lifetime warranty. While Indivia systems are great, you'll go to next month's Japfest and they'll be 30 other Z with the same exhaust which personally put me off as I like unique. Cobra I excluded for the same reason and didn't want detachable tips. I do however like the recent offering from Scorpion, they might do something similar for the Z34. Motordyne cat back, Tomei and Ark, lovely again lots of £££ when I had a decent enough Toyosport already fitted to the car. The above I have coupled with the motordyne ART pipes with their XYZ y pipe with HFC. For me this is the perfect set up and everyone always comments on how lovely it sounds, deep bassy tone, with zero drone or rasp.

Pretty sure those details from Hdev and CMS are for illustration purpose only, well I know they are as when I bought mine some years back from CMS the picture was a such however the later style sensor arrived.
