  1. What method do you use to generate a vehicles bhp? I still feel bhp is a better measure than whp: I understand that you use a coast down test to determine flywheel power. Why, when wheel power is what makes you go? The problem with measuring wheel power only, is that many factors can affect the wheel power output - tyre design, temperature and pressure, wheel alignments, gear box oil, viscosity temperature and level, wheel speed, final drive ratios etc. As an example; take two very similar cars with similar modifications, both are tested on a 'wheel horse power only' dyno, Car A has 12hp more at the wheels than Car B. The owner of Car B and the dyno operator begin looking for problems with the turbo chargers, ECU calibrations, CAM timing etc. If the test had been carried out on the Dastek Dyno, the coast down test would have revealed the transmission loss would have appeared excessively high, thus taking the focus away from the engine fault and pointing us in the direction if the drive line problem. The fault was in fact a partially seized brake caliper, which was converting the power into heat.
  2. i think the correction factor has its part to play
  3. Lovely ride pal, I took a fair few pictures of it and shared in the photos meets section
  4. Initially the low previous owners figure does look good but I'd much rather four previous owners that maintained the vehicle well than one that spent all their money on buying the car then had to skimp on maintenance. Overall condition/servicing and price of the vehicle is most important, low previous owners is nearly a bonus as this doesn't guarantee condition. You often see Porsches with lots of previous owners as its for some a bucket list car, couple of years then sell it on. I'd imagine the 350z and 370z fall into that category for alot of folks, ie for a good example not overly cheap to buy, tax or insure etc. Circumstances change and a more sensible vehicle is needed.
  5. Wow, strange in a good way lol
  6. I'm liking Soft99 waxes at the sec, there's a YouTube video if one being tested and it showing very good
  7. knew it wouldn't be long until you needed some induction roar
  8. Looks very JDM, love it!! Black engine could work

What upgrade, congratulations on the new purchase - more pictures needed please
  10. Looks fab matey!! We need a lovely sound clip too
  11. great to hear!!! these things electronic can occur at any time sadly - welkom to the group, stick around
  12. if it doesn't work first time stick at it and press the throttle pedal faster on/off, it does work
  13. first action sensor as i take it you dont have decats or high flow cats.......
  14. Tein with 20/15mm spacers #perfectdaily
  15. Now thats a Niss Show!!! i love all things Nissan. Last 5 cars owned on my drive have been Nissan's, current 3 in the household too
  16. let em crack on is what i say, clearly they're in a good place in their lives.
  17. ^ agreed - sticking to the one dyno outfit is categorically the best practice for keeping track of health/gains from engine mods. Using different rolling roads is ok purely for fun and/or comparisons with other cars on the day, ie rolling road meet or car shows.
  18. Bladdy HELL!! thats some convoy lad, next level #gumballstyle tbf 20mins in a sodi kart makes a Zed feel heavy and slow, but its not really.
  19. Not even a rough guide, as in the same day you could go to three different dyno's and get very varied figures. Not so much of an issue for those BIG power cars as 600bhp or 620bhp isn't going to loose anyone sleep lol 275bhp to 295bhp for example possibly could - my 2c
  20. Stunning pictures pal, thanx for sharing - come and say hey next time for sure.
  21. Can't compare figures from two different dyno's
  22. Place this on your plenum before the next run
  23. In all honesty number chasing is never a good idea as it tells very little about how quick a car is in real world terms. As long as the torque delivery is smooth that's more important for an engine than peak power for a split second. Remember on a track Sabine would make mince meat of any of us in a factory standard Zed compared to normal folk in a lightly modded one, point is enjoy the motor
