Pretty much all the performance based UK motoring magazines have featured the new Porsche 911 GT3 4.0 this week on track - yes a pretty incredible car to still have number plates.
I've seen them all but wanted to know which car channel/journalists are we loyal too and why?
Evo
Pistonheads
DRIVETRIBE *the new kid
AutoExpress
AutoCar
Carfection
Aside from the above, personally I tend to lean to AutoExpress these days for Steve Sutcliffe.
With mine changing from that particular Shell 5w30 (AG spec designed for a 1.3 CDTi Vaxuhall combo and possibly not the best for a VQ35) the move to Motul 8100 5w30 reduced the warm pressure effectively freeing up some power and response. Choice of oil filter also can have an effect on oil pressure too.
If you have a vacuum leak post tb, your mpg would be shocking even on a run.
Id aim for a late DE 350z for this budget and that way you possibly dont need to spend the lot either (tax and insurance needed from the get go) IMO the extra paid in tax year in year out isnt worth it for the 06 model, i dont hit the rev limit every day nor do i feel the need to with the DE extra low down lb-ft I rarely have a drink in the car to which id use the facelift door cup holders either *early models have one on the dash anyways. Lamps on the 06 model are nicer than that of the early model, however interchangeable anyways. Also imo the DE from bumper is cleaner looking than the facelift ones.
Try and get one thats had recent tyres, brakes, clutch and exhaust as i did and thats £1000's worth that you then wont have to find anytime soon. When i bought mine in Sept 15 i had a budget of 9k and still went for a grey 05' model and its been bliss. Missed out on a black GT4, however with my ocd that was probably for the best
Whatever you do get oil with the right viscosity index, not just the right grade ie 5w30. I put the below in a few months ago and on first drive the car felt noticeably slower and warm idle pressure was up about 8-10psi. Fortnight later and it was swapped out for Motul 8100 5W-30 and the car feels back to normal.
Sunday gone they had tones of trade stands at Silverstone, Donnington & Combe are much the same irrc its only Japfest Rock which seems to lack on the trade stand front.
^ mate that first bit is funny haha - I like him, even with his candy pink P11 GT haha
Cams wise theres JWT, Tomei, Catcams, Piper, Kent each with at least versions for the roller rocker UK DE.
So you went to the dark side after then, for shame lol
Yeah AOC and NPOC use to be tight then all had a falling out. Tough to find good forums tbf and even then forums go downhill quick.
The SR20 really opens up with a tune and fast road cams, loved the lumpy idle i had too. I'd of still had mine if it wasn't nicked. Believe it or not even Sunday at the show i had a couple come up to me to say sorry to hear about your GTi, absoluting gutting as it was THE best example of the car for the UK.
