A dual action polisher won't create heat as it's not in the same spot continuous. Wet & dry is the harshest form of correction for lacquered finish.

Just wrap it, from experience it's a great remedy. Just make sure the finish is exactly how you want it prior If you're desperate to use C4, coat the wrap if need be. I've done a few years back and it's looks day one fresh!

I personally wouldn't worry too much about a vehicle health check, arguably this should have been done prior to purchase IF it's a concern. The vehicles annual MOT is a vehicle health check in itself is, this was carried out mid Feb so fairly recently. A great list of additional common issue items have been flagged above and some are things that can be checked yourself, ie oil pressure, exhaust blow, brakes and tyre wear. It only took an international pandemic to prompt this one. First engine bay clean in 28yrs, the grime was immense. Came up well for an old girl.
