Hey, few little questions, 2008 350Z GT, hope you guys can answer them... Got a small bubble in the dash vinyl, left of the 3 clocks. I think the summer sun has caused it. Really don't want it to spread. Cant think of how to fix it ? Was thinking of a small syringe of glue...? Also... The passenger side electric window switches are single position, i.e. no auto up and down, like in most Nissans I've seen. Anyone modded the switches to match the drivers side. Must be a relay as well as a switch I reckon. Anyone done it? and finally... theres a switch blanking plate next to the heated seat switches. It's got scratches on it and I want to replace it. Whats the blank for...? and anyone know where to get one? Thanks for your time guys ; )

...to replace the silly business card holder tray. Can't find one for the post 2005 model. Anyone help? Found this but states wrong year and I want one from the UK... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350Z-CUPHOLDER-IN-DASH-CUPHOLDER-CHARCOAL-2003-2005-MODELS-/231223995330?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35d6062bc2 Cheers

Cheers guys, Love my Z. Should float though more though. I have been driving utter crates for years so I don't notice that much. Just thought it would be real smooth. When you rev it up through 1st to 4th and do 130 the suspension makes perfect sense Commute is a ball-ache at 25mph. Will do a real good check on my tyres though. They must be the originals. Very deep tread though (they do go off I know) Cheers all.

Cheers Gixx, Its the design then. Its hardcore compared to motors I've had before. No tramlining, pressures and tyres are perfect. Its fine when I'm blasting it but slow around the 'burbs its bloody annoying. Yes I test drove it.... fu>king loved it... thats why I bought it Will check out ure orbitals. Cheers ; )

Hi all, Got my 350Z GT in November last year. Just clocked 11,000 miles... Jan 08 plate. Now, questions .... Hard ride, clutch, dull brakes and noise are starting to do my head in. Exhaust noise is lovely but... environmental noise, gravel.. not good. Are all 350 clutches so watery? Brakes need a hard press to get them to really bite (compared to a Golf mk6 with on/off brakes)... Normal ? Is the ride really designed to be so hard? It really shifts and grips but man theres some really terrible roads near me. Worried for my seat springs. Sounds like a newb thing but I was expecting a lot more subtlety. Wrong ? NO, I dont want a TT or an A5 ; ) Cheers for any posts guys... thanks ; ) EDIT: Anyone recommend a decent orbital for waxing too??

About 31mpg, keep it! How the hell do you get 31 mpg ??? Not using 1st at lights and upshifting at 1500rpm gets me 23mpg?

Do what anybody else would do. Claim for whiplash. That'll cover the shortfall in what they pay you for your write off. Its crap but thats how sh*t insurance is. Sorry to see that m8 : ( -
Front brakes? Never heard of that

I reckon I've got one of the lowest around. Jan '08 - 10,400 15 miles a week daily drive ; )

Its either a fan belt / alternator belt or tensioning belt (if the Z has one, i dont know). When you get it checked by a mech, confirm you have the correct belt fitted as opposed to just tensioning or replacing it. I once took another car to a place and they sprayed WD40 on it to stop the squeal. Belts wear, so do pulleys, get them checked too. Take it back and ask them to test the alternator, it may be seizing. When it squeals, look at your volt meter clock, is it above say 15 volts ? If its at 12 ish theres no charge coming off the alternator, meaning the belt isn't turning the alternator pulley.

I second that. Mine neither. UK spec

Cup holder would be handy. Any idea where I can get one ??

An 08 car should have been serviced at least 5 times (i.e. once every year) and Oil yep. Every week. I do about 30 miles a week in it. Services - Got serviced at 5000 and then at 9000. I'm pretty happy with that. The bloke who owned it before me was 80 years old. I can't imagine he would have ever thrashed it. The 9000 Nissan service replaced all fluids and an engine flush. Oil after 500 miles is still crystal clear and full. Apart from that, its been sitting in storage most of its life. I even have an original Nissan car cover for it. The guy who had it before me was a bit of an eccentric the dealer tells me. He part ex'd my Z, a Westfield and an '01 Yellow Fiat Punto (with 4000 miles) that he'd taken to Ferrari and had a Scuderia leather interior fitted in it. Takes all sorts I suppose. Really appreciate the comments guys. Keep em coming ; )

Feeling for you dude. Arseh@les. Mind you, I did once pinch a parking ticket off another car and stuck it to my own windscreen so I didnt get a ticket. Still feel bad about that one.... but Iit was genius. Left them a note with the ticket number and a sorry so maybe I can/cannot be villified.

Heres my 2p's worth m8.... had my Z for 2 months now. Really love it but I know it'll be gone within a year or two. Got a pretty new Golf 1.6 TD too... go from one to the other and its like getting in a clown car. But its relaxing. The Z is a stressful experience on a daily basis. Don't get a bike. UK is not the place to bike IMO. Sell up, get something normal, then when you're all set up everywhere else, get another speedy car. I treated myself cos I've been driving an ancient diesel Corsa for 10 years Signed.... Gandalf the Grey.

Hi all, New Z owner here : ) I bought a spotless 350z GT Sat Nav in Nov '13 after MONTHS of trying to find the right one 08 plate in midnight blue 9500 miles, full nissan history (both services heh!) Been under a cover most of its life. Anyway, I have a few newbie questions I hope you guys know the answers to. I'd really appreciate your comments. 1. Can you adjust the height of the seatbelt at the shoulder? Theres a rachet (kind of) on the belt guide where it goes over your shoulder but it doesn't move up and down much. Its a bit low for me and i'm 5' 10". 2. When I press my head back on the headrest, I feel the headrest prongs pressing through the back of the seat. Is it Normal and just a bad design?... and can you adjust the headrest height? 3. Heated seats just heat the backrest at the small of your back right? not the seat too? 4. Handbrake adjustment. Easy enough? Mines riding quite high. Stretched cable most likely. 5. DTE on the trip computer... looks uselessly inaccurate to me. Is it? 6. Anyone know of a replacement stereo that fits straight in with steering wheel control, phone mic etc ... (note - check the ICE forum first.. ignore that) 7. What do you use your miniature tray where the glovebox should be for? Cheers. Hope you can help.
