I think that everyone on here will tell you that it is worth travelling for a good one. Mine is a 2009 temper orange (same as the one you are considering), quite a rare colour, and looks even better 'in the flesh' especially when the sun hits it. Chances are they will accept a slightly lower offer, although not particularly over priced as it stands. I also have a 4x4 as family runabout and find the 350Z is a fantastic 'toy'. I know that organisations such as the AA and RAC do mechanical inspections, maybe they can also cover bodywork etc. Cheaper than paying for fuel probably.

Not the same car because I have it : )

My 2009 350Z was £5-6K cheaper than the closest 370Z with equivalent mileage and only a couple of months newer. No brainer really : ) Also fully optioned, fully serviced, one mature owner, 12 months warranty, £4K ICE upgrade, no parking dings or scratches whatsoever. Great value for money. I love the look of both the 350 and 370, both appeal in different ways, but decided to save myself a pot of money.

Us 350 owners will let you 370 guys take the hit on depreciation then we will buy them cheap

Mine went a couple of weeks ago. Quotes were around £320 odd from several companies for standard replacement so better to go stainless unless it seriously affects your insurance premium. Mine is a 2009 and rest of exhaust is still in very good condition so I had it welded for £30. Would have liked to have used it as an excuse for a stainless system but have just had a few very expensive weeks and my wallet was smarting ..

Pete - great minds think alike, only I went for XR4i and XR4x4 instead of Capri 2.8. Those cars got me into the V6 RWD thing. Promised myself that I would have a 911 one day, but now I can afford one I am not that bothered and bought 350Z instead. Was going to get a 370 but the 350 was such damn good value for money that I went for that instead.

I have had both EP3 and FN2 Type R's. The FN2 was a 'little' more comfortable than the EP3, but in the EP3 every drive felt like an event. The drive in both was a little harsh, quite bearable with only the driver on board or for fun drives but tiresome with wife / kids on board or for longer journeys / commuting. Not sure I would want to go back to that after driving the 350Z but then I am over 50 now : ) Good advertising by Honda though ....

Here is a tip - follow the advice you give to others. On a particularly hot day I opened the window on an old portacabin and propped it open. Metal framed window, very sharp corners. Went round and advised all staff that it was open and to be very careful. About an hour later someone shouted for me because a phone call I was waiting for had just come in so I ran for the phone, past the window and ....26 stitches later my cheek was back on.

A bad dealer experience can ruin your enjoyment of a car, and there are plenty of them about unfortunately. I have owned an ST and thought it was great. In fact, when buying my 350Z it was a toss up between another ST and the 350Z. The Z won on looks, style, rarity and sound more than anything else. My ST was a 5 cylinder though which sounded good, not sure how the new 4 pot sounds. I am sure you will not be disappointed with the ST though.

Yup, has now been done for the princely sum of £30. Hopefully it should last till I change insurer and then will get a replacement system.

I agree with Ekona and others, remove mods and do not allow insurance to be cancelled by the insurance company. Then start speaking to more reasonable insurance companies and decide if to change companies now or wait until your current policy expires. I am with the RAC and insurance was dirt cheap till I told them about mods - just a spoiler and nismo intakes. Policy cost doubled, but fortunately because I am an old git double is still not bad. However, will be kicking them into touch very soon.

Hooray! I am officially a chav, at the ripe old age of 51. I'll trade my leather Aussi bush hat for a burberry cap immediately. Tend to shop at Sports Direct for some outdoor gear but looks like I will be heading for the trackie section now.

Hoping that one of the traders comes back with a price I cannot refuse....

Yes tempted, but having just spent several £G's on a holiday my wallet hurts.

Looks like my exhaust has gone in the usual place, where the back box mates with the centre pipe on the weld. Very annoying because it is a 2009 car and apart from this crack, exhaust looks very good. We will probably have a go at welding it tomorrow, has anyone tried this and had any luck? If not I guess it may have to be a stainless steel replacement (and incur the wrath of my insurers) since I have now been quoted £320 for the 'standard' replacement by several exhaust companies. Any traders out there doing a good deal on Scorpion or similar back box? Nothing too noisy!

I have a cylindrical rear view camera, 28/30mm diameter, mounted in the towing eye cover. Connections are under the spare wheel cover so could easily remove it if I need to fit towing eye. I have the Nismo rear spoiler so rear view is terrible, so have the camera permanently on display on Alpine DVD head unit.

Most offensive comments you have had driving the 370z
Ponsonby replied to robin c's topic in 370z General
Worse in convertibles I think. Used to get loads when I had my Z4 before the 350Z, even though it was a cheap 03 car. Don't want to stereotype but most was from van drivers, maybe they feel brave when elevated high above you. Got home one day to find spit on the car, guessing that someone tried to gob in the car (or on me) as they were going past. Some lovely people out there. -
You can keep the car, I want the house. Note to self - must work harder!

I cant believe the number of people I see driving on their phones on our housing estate, usually while doing 30+ past the primary school gates! They are either 1 minute away from leaving or getting to home. This really, really annoys me! No phone call is that important!! For those that think it is OK, put yourself in Zeus' position. 3 years lost and I am sure there is a lot he cannot do now that he used to be able to do.
-
Why not use the DD's car for kiddy transport since she cant drive it for 3 years - and make her tax, insure and put fuel in it as part of her pennance.
-
Would rather have them pass some stupid comment than the alternative of leaving a nice scratch on the car. I love my Temper Orange 350Z but have to be really careful where I leave it - its so bright it is a magnet for 'f*%kwits' who can spot it on the opposite side of the car park.

The seam on my drivers seat bolster was worn by previous owner and the only real fault with otherwise perfect alezan seats. Ordered a kit from Gliptone to try a DIY before spending loads with a professional leather restorer. They send a bottle of 'orange dye' plus a small bottle of darker orange and a small bottle of white for colour mixing if required plus a bottle of gloss enhancer. No mixing required, the colour straight out of the bottle was a perfect match and a great finish was easily achieved. Very happy.

A Triumph TR7 fitted with a tuned V8 (not TR8). Very powerful, for its day, but nothing done to modify brakes, steering and suspension and most of the car rotten as a pear. Decided not to buy because I valued my life.

When I sold my previous car I actually made money on it after 18 months of ownership. Wife was so impressed she neglected to ask me the difference in price between my 2009 350Z and the 2003 Z4 I had just sold. Phew! It may have been rather difficult to hide a bright orange 350z, I think even my other half would have noticed.
