My Cobra exhaust was delivered today (thanks Cougar Store) and is now fitted. Sounds absolutely lovely and being from Cheshire I am grinning like the proverbial Cat. Was slightly concerened before picking it up in case it was too loud for sneaking away from the house in the morning but it is just fine. Not at all loud until you start piling on the revs or accelerate moderate to hard. Don't know why Nissan didn't put a decent sounding system on in the first place - you want this type of car to sound good not like an asthmatic washing machine. I went for the half system which is plenty loud enough for me - gives a nice deep, sporty tone without being over the top.

I hope it is not a Diesel!! My daily is newish 4X4 diesel and I think we are now the scourge of the earth. Be interesting to know what the likes of JLR think of this new anti diesel thinking? I think that all the sensibly priced F-Pace are diesel with only a supercharged petrol (expensive) on offer?

I'm getting a Cobra fitted to my 370Z. My insurance asked if it was cosmetic modification or performance modification. I said neither, it is an 'aural' modification. Unfortunately this is not on their list so had to go for a performance mod even though it will not give me any more power. Cost is an extra £20 on premium and £25 for the change to policy. I had already lined up another insurer just in case my existing one had taken the mickey or refused ..

Summer Holidays - Where are you all going?
Ponsonby replied to colesl4w's topic in Off Topic Discussion
South Africa in a few weeks time - technically it is work but is in a University on the Southern Cape, hotel on the beach and many nature reserves close by. Followed by Scout Camp - hard work but fun. Cape Verdi all inclusive later in the year for family holiday - usually prefer more active holidays but we are knackered and need a complete rest. -
[SOLD]59 plate 2010 S/A 370z GT Ultimate for sale
Ponsonby replied to wez370's topic in Zeds For Sale
Frustrating isn't it? Had the same when I sold my 350 HR. I was actually quite happy with what dealers had offered (compared to what I had paid for the car) but thought I would try to give someone a bargain and offered for sale on here. Car was perfect. No takers so it went to a dealer - shame. -

[SOLD]59 plate 2010 S/A 370z GT Ultimate for sale

Could be a good buy for someone surely? Not for me though, I already have a 370. I like the colour combination. Standard 370Z trim is pretty dark so the alezan really brightens it up. -
If you are into the MMA Headphones, my daughters boyfriend is Dan Vinnie. Seems to travel around a lot training other people and I think he has a Belator fight coming up soon - a big thing apparently. Funny thing is that he had been dating her for a very long time before he 'dared' to meet the parents : ) Actually I don't blame him, would rather do time in the ring against another bloke than I would my wife!

I have been in touch with Cobra and they only do one option for the 370Z. It does not have resonated mid silencers but is 'compensated' for in the rear box, apparently. Also don't seem to have a choice of tail pipes but the one they use is what I want anyway so no problem there. Have ordered the system and hoping delivery will not be too long and then will report back .....

Bought my 370Z a year ago now. Decided at the time that it was too quiet but decided to wait to see how it went before buying a new exhaust. I get bored with cars easily and have recently been considering buying a Cayman. Always promised myself a Porsche from childhood. Surprisingly, I have decided that I prefer the Z. I love everything about it and realised that the only thing that I have an issue with is the sound. So, new Cobra exhaust was ordered on Friday and I cannot wait until I receive it and get it fitted. At 54 this is the first mod I have added to a car since I was in my early 20's. I think that I may have started on a slippery slope.

That is an age thing Pete. I usually watch the first few laps, have a nap, then wake up to watch the finish : )

silver z on tv show just now called shop well for less on bbc 1
Ponsonby replied to PPod's topic in Spotted or Flyered
I could feel my wife looking at me as they scathed him for owning a Z as a second car. I did not even look at her, just muttered four words - 'not a bloody chance'. And my wife is going to be even less impressed when I order my new exhaust later today. Thank you Steph and Alex. -

I can live with loud on revs. So long as I am not annoying the neighbours when I start up and leave at 6am..

I promised myself a new exhaust after I had owned the Z for 12 months and time is nearly up : ) The resonated Cobra is currently my first choice. I want something that really enhances the sound of the car but not 'too' loud and not raspy or tinny. From reading the forum, Cobra owners really seem pleased with their choice but no mention if they have the full system (including Y pipe) or half system (Y pipe back). Has anyone heard the Cobra with and without the Y pipe and how much difference does it make to the sound? Anyone with just the half system? Did it improve the sound considerably or did you regret not going for the full system. Thanks.

He does a great job of the filming and editing, all self taught. Still only 14. We dont see him for hours once he gets engrossed in the editing. I am just chauffeur to the next shoot these days, in 370z style...

A friend of mine had a transplant. He often said that he wished he had been brave like me and just accepted and embraced his hair loss. You have been through a rough time and are suffering low self esteem but the money could be better spent on some councelling which will help you cope with your relationship breakup, hair loss, body image. After a rather gruelling divorce I had 'issues' and realised pretty quickly that I would never have another good relationship unless I got myself sorted so went for councelling. Not an easy thing to do back in the day when such things were considered a sign of weakness - now I recommend it to anyone. Why live with your demons if you can get rid of them. A half decent body is just fine and will actually be more acceptable to most ladies than a bodybuilders physique - ignore what you see on social media and the movies. Most women do not like huge muscles and I reckon that if you get too big you will put off more women than you attract. My missus hates it if I gain too much muscle mass. A 'healthy' physique will be far more attractive, think Jason Statham rather than the Rock. Never done it but know people who have, but online dating is probably a disaster for someone with confidence issues. Chill out, be patient, don't go looking and someone will come along when you least expect it. Don't treat every date with a lady as 'looking for love'. Just go out, be yourself and have a good time. If you click then great, if not you have both had a nice evening out together and no reason why not to be just friends if that works. I have never been blessed with good looks, have a borderline OK physique, lost my hair at an early age but am on my second marriage to a nice looking lady who is 7 years younger. If I can do it then you can.

It was a good morning out and great to meet other Z owners - such a friendly bunch : ) Good mix of cars there too. Early start but a pleasure to drive deserted roads. If there will be a few Z's there then the organisers will save a spot if we contact them beforehand. We were very spread out yesterday. -
I've sold 4 cars to wbac in the past 4 years. Each time I was honest on the online form about the cars condition. Once at their offices in each occasion I was given the same amount that they had offered me online. 2 of the 4 times were instead of part ex, and both of those were more than dealer would pay me. Other 2 were simply because I didn't have the time to sell privately. If you understand their business practice and you like the convenience, then there is no reason not to use them. Just be sure to be 100% honest on the online declaration. Although the caveat to all that is it depends how picky/good the person at the wbac you deal with is. I have had the same experience. Always been offered the same as online quote and usually more than offered in PX.

I was driving home last night. On an estate road with a minor leading onto it from the left. A 4x4 pulled out on me, across my path, he did not even slow down at his give way. I did an emergency stop but he was towing a massive flat bed trailer which nearly took me out. And the graphics across the traler read something like 'emergency response recovery vehicle'. Had to laugh, his response is probably superfast because he causes the accident and loads the car he has just wiped out straight onto his trailer .....! Worst bit was that he glared at me as if it was my fault.

Weather permitting I will be there - white 370Z. My 14 year old son wants to go and do some filming - might be a shock to his system getting up that early on a Sunday though. -
Some of the Porsche dealers appear to offer a full inspection and a 2 year warranty. If that warranty includes the IMS and bore scoring then 'possibly' worth the extra they charge just to sleep at night? The Porsche dealers appear to charge around £2K more than alternative dealers for a similar car but you would 'hope' that they do a proper job and only sell decent cars.

Hi from Surrey, looking for a 370z
Ponsonby replied to logit's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
There is a good chance that I may put mine up for sale next week. 2012 GT Edition, white, auto, 18K miles. Superb condition obviously. 2 owners, full service history, MOT'd last month. Bought last year as a Nissan Approved car. Will be looking for around £17K but not taking any offers for less. Please pm me if interested. Located Nantwich, Cheshire. -
I think that either of those PX prices are pretty good. Stick your details into We Buy Any Car and see what it comes up with - £17K at a guess. It is a 'reasonable guide' to what is normally offered in PX. I think that £20K would a dealer selling price.
