  2. I owned a VI for three years , bought it very mildly tuned about 340hp and modded and mapped it myself up to 400hp/400ft lbs Mine was mint and getting nice ones isnt as easy as it was . Rust is a big issue now , very poor protection from new has meant that serious corrosion especially around the rear end if pretty common They arent built like Nissans ie build quality but are super capable on the road, I've never driven anything as capable on a back road but they arent such fun on a motorway as cruising speed is about 4000rpm in 5th They can be fragile and maintenance is more frequent although most capable DIY'er can keep on top of most things and just get a specialist to check it over once a year They are a rally car on the road and that mustn't be forgotten I can recommend these guys for servicing and repairs and they often get really nice examples , although Evo's seem more common in Scotland and no doubt there are no shortages of specialists Lots of info on the MLR here http://www.lancerregister.com/faqindex.php

  4. We used to have one like this , but it was poorly installed and kicked out far too much heat So we have a much smaller one now No shortage of logs either as we already have a few tonnes and this tree is coming down next weekend so we should get a few years worth out of it
  5. Even without a claim its still an "at fault "accident so an increased premium is to be expected, even if you have a no fault claim your premium usually increases
  6. Same happened to me with a no fault claim , they will knock you back if you have a potential claim in the wings unfortunately , but if the other guy doesnt claim you will get the increased premium back
  7. yes just by fitting the decats it made 19hp but went quite lean, after the map was tweaked by Jez at h-dev it made 35hp ,

  9. Just to update Yes everything was well/is well sealed I'm learning to live with it , the extra 35hp gained by fitting them has helped

  11. Erm, how? The Golf R has 9bhp less but 12ft/lb more torque than the 350, weighs at least 100kg less, has 4WD and a DSG 'box. It's limited to 155mph so I've no doubt will do that in stock form, so on no planet with even a vaguely competent driver should the 350 see which way the Golf R went in a straight line. Hell, I'd thoroughly expect the Golf to p*ss all over the 350 round the corners too. I'd still rather own the 350 as I'd find it more fun, but I really struggle to believe that the 350 was quicker than the R I agree the Golf R would see off a 370 let alone a 350 but you cant compare a car with different drivers, i do know that I would push a 8k car a lot harder on track than a 40k car
  12. Yes they do buddy. I run a Nitrous express wet kit. Ended up having to run an aftermarket ecu so I didn't have to run the timing retarded constantly. Plenty of others with wet systems on here. How much experience have you got of running this on a zed? Funny how plenty of people in the US run 100hp on the 370z with no alterations not even plugs, I've not yet finished my 370z install but have had numerous cars and bikes run nitrous and fitted dozens of kits for people over the last 20 years or so. 99% of cars can take 50hp with no alterations at all you don't need a controller and you don't need a map, hardly going to set your world alight though, above 75hp the goalposts change a little but its not rocket science.   13. Stock backbboxbox isnt interchangeable with the invidia system , a full exhaust change before going on track wouldnt be one of my favourite ideas

Bought a pair of decats and added them to my Invidia Gemini on my 370z a/t and I think they are going to be too loud , going to live with it for a while but as the car will need to go on track occasionally I suspect it will fall foul of noise testing . No booming or suchlike on cruise and its fine but when you floor it its rather fruity for sure Unfortunately it does pull so much better above 5k than it did so I'm rather loathed to get rid of them What options do I have ie Berk HFC or suchlike, will they temper the noise without strangling performance? Has anyone gone from decats to hfc?

  16. Not everybody spends anything like that for nitrous , you can get a kit that will add 50-75 hp for less than £1k and there are plenty of books you can read to fully understand how it works , how to install it and how to tune it . Unfortunately many tuners have limited information on it

Ahhh I understand fully now after actually doing the job The US forum often talks about 20mm rear and 25mm front , the reason the 20mm spacers dont fit on the front is due to the recess on the back of the wheel not being deep enough to accommodate the raised stud , however the rear wheel recess are much deeper so you dont have this issue on the back Academic for me as I went 25/25 anyhow
  22. Good luck insuring a big bike after passing your test , it would be like passing a car test and trying to insure a GTR. A 600 is plenty for a year or two
