  1. Not really going for me but for my son as a "well done" after his GCSE's
  2. And this is why the car needs to be clean before putting the cover on . Wouldn't be good enough for me, my white paint is so soft and it marks too easily. I use an indoor cover if i'm parking the car for a couple of weeks to protect it from dust and clumsy kids getting ice out of the freezer but the car has to be fully detailed before i put it on and the cover is not going to move about in my garage. Not everyone is as fussy as me though
  3. I'm more a fan of a decent detail to protect it than a cover , the idea of that wind rubbing the cover around on my paintwork would keep me up at night
  4. I'm off there in June too But sadly only for a week. And also like you I'm trying to get into a Hilton group hotel as I have a 2 night voucher to use lol. We might end up in the same hotel. Ohh errr! OP have you been to the Nismo HQ in Yokohama? Here's a couple of links if you haven't, or if any other readers are interested: http://paultan.org/2...age-collection/ http://www.speedhunt...-omori-factory/ Keep up with reports on this please OP! S. Planning on visiting the Nissan Engine museum but got a pretty tight schedule trying to jam a lot into 2 weeks. Going to Studio Ghibli as well which I am looking forward to http://www.yokohamajapan.com/things-to-do/nissan-engine-museum/
  5. There is no hard and fast rule but a no fault claim can certainly impact your insurance. My wife was hit when driving my car , the truck smashed the door mirror , the claim came to about £500 which was paid by the other driver but my insurance on that car went up by about £50 (20%) in addition the premium went up on my second car by about the same and this effect lasted for a few years.
  6. I had Potenzas on mine when I bought it , thought they were truly awful, poor in the dry , lousy in the wet . Since fitting the MPSS I have been continually impressed they grip far better in the wet and cold than I expected them to (not that it has gotten properly cold yet) and exceptional in the dry
  7. A 600cc sportsbike is kinda like a type R Honda , fast enough but needs precise handling to get the best out of it. Personally they dont float my boat i prefer a bit more beef to go with the burger
  8. I have the older 400hd model in my 370 , really like it and the software for viewing is excellent As shown here , although why its so jerky I dont know , its smooth in practice . Youtube screws with the video quality though you cant compare like with like
  9. I like the G1W http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2013/12/16/g1w-the-cheapest-dash-cam-thats-worth-buying.html But for a bigger budget the Blackvue stuff takes a lot of beating
  10. I have a double garage , but its just under 5m deep so some cars wont fit so that effects choice
  11. Yeah im expecting it to be warm , limited options on when we can go though. We have some nice hotels planned , think we are in a Hilton group in Tokyo, also visiting Hiroshima, Kyoto and a couple of smaller places
  12. We are off to Japan for 2 weeks in June , cant wait. What the issue with breakfast?
  13. I think looking outside of sports bikes for your first bike makes a lot of sense , as mentioned the chance of a drop , even just dropping it as you get used to low speed manoeuvring would yield a big bill on a faired sports bike something like a Hornet or Fazer makes a lot of sense and they do crash a lot better and parts are plentiful If it were me I'd buy something like this http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201512199564206?search-target=usedbikes&make=honda&model=cb600_hornet&sort=default&quicksearch=true&radius=1500&page=1&postcode=rg207lq&logcode=p Get a years riding under my belt and then buy something a little more exotic
  14. You get AFR although its slow to respond and of limited use If you download the Advanced EX for Nissan in Google play you can get a huge amount of data and the 370 is fully supported https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ideeo.niadvanced&hl=en_GB such as * VVT Oil Temperature (*) * Base Fuel Injection Pulse Width * Fuel Injector Pulse Width / Duty Cycle * Mass Air Flow (*) * MAF Volts (*) * EVAP Purge Duty * A/F Ratio Adjustment * Camshaft Advance Angle (*) * Cruise Control Speed (*) * Cooling Fan Activation * A/C Compressor Activation * Idle Controller / Brake Switch
  15. I used to use a ELM327 but now use one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00H9S71LW/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1451740889&sr=1&keywords=obd+bluetooth This type can provide a much faster connection to give live data through something like Torque Like most things you get what you pay for
  16. I have most of the parts ready for a quaife diff upgrade but I also have a GTR itch i may finally scratch this year
  17. I've twice been stopped for wide wheels , the law (I'm sure is in C&U somewhere but CBA to check) states in effect that no tyre tread must be visible when viewed from above, that's in addition to the no fouling of the arch or any other part of the vehicle I ran pretty close on my R34, but that looks fine to me
  18. If he is local to Oxford I'm only 20 minutes down the 34
  19. If you send a plea out a forum member might take you out in theirs to get an idea . Try both versions though and see how you get on
  20. Ive had mine two years now and although I fancy a change its really hard to find a worthy replacement
  21. I have had a couple of DSG's the VAG 7 and 6 speed ones, the auto in the 370 has pros and cons with it . It is smoother when pulling away than a dsg box but not so smooth going through the gears, in heavy traffic its much better than a dsg imo. Much more reliable than the dsg though with lower repair costs Its an excellent 'box imo, you get a 7 speed rather than 6 like the manual , the flappy paddles do really transform the car when you use them with a nice blip when you down shift, like the dsg you can override the auto at any time when driving if you want to overtake and don't want to wait for kickdown. Unlike some tiptronic autos the car will not shift up unless you tell it to, it will however shift down to prevent the engine from stalling. The auto version is ridiculously over geared, the rev limit in 7th with give a theoretical top speed of 240mph +so it makes for very relaxed cruising and pretty good on fuel , there is little or no penalty economy wise like many auto v manual versions The gearbox can be tweaked a little with an UPREV map which can make a decent amount of difference especially to the responsiveness After owning a manual 350z I wouldnt have considered the manual 370z , it had to be auto The GT Edition and I think most 2012 onwards cars also come with a snow mode which helps traction no end when grip is compromised, not just in snow but wet grass or mud can be troublesome Good video showing how the cars shift under power
  22. Why was your mechanic under the car when doing the battery ? But that brace is just bolt on and can be bought from nissan or breakers
