Its so hard to tell on these videos but I would be checking it into a specialist (Not Nissan) if it were me, my worry would be oil gallery gaskets so the noise would be worse when hot at idle

Base model 370'z are usually open diff , the GT has the VLSD, not many base models about
-
I think so , at least have them in case the old ones are goosed as it makes sense, I have them (Whiteline not the cheaper ones) , the 350z half shafts as mine is an auto and a NISMO finned diff cover waiting to go on mine when I do the diff
-
Do all models of the 350z have rear speakers? Some versions of the 370z dont have them at all

Bikes are making 200hp at the wheel largely because they have a much simpler and more efficient drive train, although I am surprised that normally aspirated bikes are up to 200hp at the wheel now, but ive been out of the picture for a while. Of course bike engines don't make the torque though my 180rwhp bike made less than 110ft lbs of torque , a 180hp car engine would probably make twice that and you wouldn't need to rev the nagers off it.

Let me guess you like Ferrari's

What year is the car ?

Took a test drive in one of these today , very very impressive car. I can see myself ordering one soon -
http://www.blackboxmycar.com/products/power-magic-pro-blackvue If you wire your camera via one of these the cheaper ones will carry on recording until device cuts out to prevent the battery draining so much that the car would not start The Blackvue ones (Like the Aston driver had) are designed to be wired this way really and they go into parking mode as said using motion sensors (that are very sensitive) and record if any sensors trigger. If i was parking somewhere dodgy I'd fit a blackvue, they are hard to see and very discrete but also unclip very quickly so easy to remove

Its true it can cause crank damage to some cars I dont blame the garage not wanting to do it Is the car drivable or has the clutch totally gone

How did you feel the quaife changed things I'm looking into it want to be sure I'll notice the difference I've heard this before, in the US diff upgrades are much more popular even on fairly stock cars, I know there are many more base model 370's that come with a open diff but even the lsd owners say it makes a significant improvement. Its something I am doing next month, I find when the car does break loose it does in an inconsistent way spinning the right hand rear wheel first and then snapping straight as the diff starts to work, if it did the same everytime it would be as bad but its variable , I assume a lot has to do with the temperature ie viscosity of the oil in the diff .

2 words: leaf springs never been a huge fan of the american muscle stuff. I can appreciate it but it's just too...American. and who wants that?! Some people wouldnt give you tuppence for "jap crap" it takes all sorts to make a world , I class myself as a petrolhead and can find something to like in pretty much any car

No, did you do one before you spent £xxxx on buying a car? Surely that's more of a concern than when you start modifying it? Yes I have done them on prospective purchases on modified engines, but no not on my 370z as it was under warranty, I have done one since though, it seems very sensible to me to spend £100 just checking the health on an engine you are 1) going put under a lot more stress and 2) About to commit a sizeable chunk or money on rather than just waiting to find out the hard way , guess thats experience speaking I found the stock brembos on the 350z wanting as I did on the much lighter Evo , I find the stock 370z brakes wanting as well, ok for one or two fast stops but performance drops off quickly Its not just the one off stop from 70mph its that a car with more power builds more speed more quickly and if you start to exploit that performance on the road you will put the brakes under a lot more stress of course if you dont use the performance you dont need the brakes improved That literally makes no sense unless you live your life a quarter of a mile at a time in which case, yeah, brakes. You dont need good brakes to run 1/4 miles
-
Good call on the Charger , I'd have one for £35k as well they go for three times that though One of my mates had a '72 , it was subtle lol

Maybe you were lucky, you really think spending £100 getting a health check done on the engine would not make sense before spending £4k ?DS2500 pads are a good upgrade but i felt the stock brembos were very much wanting and pads lines and fluid would be the minimum i would consider if it were my safety
-
If you add more go you should always add more whoa - Uprated brakes are a must imo I think on any FI build the engine should get a compression and leakdown check before any work is started and money spent
-
Interesting that whilst there is a healthy amount of mixed views - wouldn't it be boring if we all felt the same? Not one person suggested a new zed
-
O is that what it's for!! Now I feel really stupid haha Well now it's too dark so it'll have to be done tomorrow now..... I say ' Some say' as we never seem to have had a definite YES that is what it is for. (not so dumb,--------it has been asked lots and lots and lots lots more times on here before you asked) It also has the job of helping to remove the discs when they stick to the hub, you undo the bolt, remove the spacer and wind the bolt back in and it pops the disc off .

Just for info. http://suction-mount...blogspot.co.uk/ The law is very clear. Will you be done for it ? Well that's another question. I dont think thats clear at all, and certainly its been read in various ways. Some police vehicles have dashcams with screens and other devices that breach the same regulations. The UK wants to make dash cams a requirement within 2 years.
-
I cant see the screen on mine from the drivers seat the rear view mirror obscures it but i have yet to hear of anyone being done or even stopped for it and I dont believe the law is clear on it But if it that much of an issue just mask the screen off with some tape

Hehe, tell that to the 240z owners Still plenty of aftermarket parts for R34 , out there, soon on TORQEN website as well Plenty of 2.0 litre pinto parts available , try finding a decent dash for a Ford Capri

Have you seen this EVO VII? http://www.harlow-ja.../7trackevo.html I'd argue that EVO would be more than a match for most GTR's actually. £37k is a bit out of budge but it looks like there's been a lot more than that spent on it! Yeah I have , been looking at the MLR a lot recently saw a very nice IX with over 600hp on there as well , some very well sorted cars around Quite a few of the Evo owners I know who went to the R35 have gone back to the Evo 9 or 10 I'd want a MY12 GTR onwards personally A nice R34 GTR would be a very good shout for that money but I got rid of my R34 largely due to Nissan deleting 1000's of parts from their catalogue , they are classics really and come with the inconvenience of running any car of that age

I'm in the market for a GTR and I'm looking at options so far looked at the Lexus RCF, Vauxhall/Holden VXR8, E63 AMG, have a test drive booked on a M4 and R35 later this month , not driven anything impressive enough to draw me away from the 370z yet though , all a bit more than £35k of course If I had £35k and wanted GTR performance i'd get a modified Evo 9 or 10, a well modded one is more than a match for a GTR
