Well after a bit of a search I found a good starting point for my 350z project On Saturday I picked my 2002 model, import, 65000 miles, cloth interior, exterior looks very good.... it needs a few little things doing and should be a good little car once done! The list of things to do:- * traction control issue needs sorting * exhaust is blowing * a few minor things (horn is not working, indicator auto cancel not 100%, reversing camera is not working, only 1 key) * headlights need to be restore.... some what of a standard issue with older jap cars So where and what version fault code reader do I get? Where is best to get a spare key? Here are some pics, from the pistonheads ad and a few quick snaps from over the weekend.

and looks like I have found one that I like... going to collect it tomorrow. 2002 model, cloth seats, low mileage. Couple of minor issues to sort out, but nothing major and was a bit under my budget. Will post up some photos in a new thread tomorrow.

Its a target, I doubt they will come closes to the 918... The Nismo GTR has been testing at the "ring" and I am going to guess that its a fair bit quicker than the current GTR.... so 7:05ish lap times. The 918 did 6:57, which is phenomenal!!! I dont doubt that a better GTR gearbox, 700+bhp (thats assuming they use the same engine 525bhp + batteries), better aero and the same weight will come very close to the 918. http://www.roadandtrack.com/go/news/videos/2014-nismo-gt-r-nurburgring-testing Yes, I agree that adding the batteries and all adds weight, but the GTR currently runs additional diffs, driveshafts, etc. This should offset the weight of the batteries. That was the ethos for the R35, however Mizuno-san has now retired and has been replaced (since midway through the 2014 model of the GTR) by the guy from Nismo, hence the Nismo GTR. His ethos is slightly different.... so expect big changes http://www.edmunds.com/car-news/nissan-gt-rs-new-chief-engineer-tackles-big-tasks-including-hybrid-model.html

I do agree.... but they are chasing the Porsche 918 heavier and faster. I really doubt the car will be 2 tonnes, I would hope that its about the same weight it currently is 1750kgs. Im still waiting for someone to do a proper job of stripping a GTR and making it lightweight. There is a lot of weight that could be stripped!!

1992 headlight reg would state its legal (my old civic with this mod passed an mot) im sure you'll have mr know it all copper saying its not probably

will be interesting... the GTR is already a heavy beast due to among other things its 4wd (power transfer system). Replacing that with batteries should be about the same in weight terms - so if they can up the power by another 100-200bhp, that would make for a very interesting car!! The current engine still drives the rear wheels and the power is then shifted forward via a secondary driveshaft.... so a 700+bhp GTR from the factory R36 is due out in 2017-2018 I believe, so not too far off.... price will be the killer though. Unless they use the same pricing strategy as the R35, in which case, get in early

but..... would you take on of those over an Aston Martin V8? I know which one I would go for............ both seem to depreciate like a stone I do like that bootlid though

Not bad, but not much beats this NSX video:- -
where can I get the parts? http://www.japanimportcar.com/ nothing for 350 though that sucks!! Custom

where can I get the parts?

+1 I like it as well.... I wouldnt put it on a road car, but a track car mmmmmmmmmm!
-
red was always my first choice.... pain to keep it clean and looking good, but definitely worth the effort. Some great quotes in your signature
-
very good way of putting it
-
Yes, looks good for a race car, definitely not on a road car in the UK. The car is already too wide, most narrow lanes are now VERY narrow and parking spaces just never seem big enough..... but it does look good on track!

Nice spec, similar to mine... Let me know how you find the MY11 suspension, its an interesting option. I have only seen 1 stage 4 car hit 650bhp and that was Jamies and he was running the Syvecs ECU. 620-630 is still a decent amount of power, also keep in mind that the torque needs to be kept down, unless you fancy an engine build (rods just cannot take it). Going for the sub/amp upgrade from the GTR forum member? Thats what I have, I got one of the original set, awesome upgrade!! Cant wait for his front speaker and amp upgrade

http://www.pistonhea...-plate/1825591# Viewed this one today and I liked... dont like the idea of BTing a deposit over, so may lose it..... but oh well. Any others?

Gets a lot of swirls as the GTR hardcoat is crap, but a good detailer fixes it, mine is done by ValetMagic. I am thinking about the MY11 suspension, but waiting to see what the newer versions are like. Milltek downpipes and Whifbitz ypipe, stock rear section. Whats been done to yours? It is big, but I tend to park it away from everything else and pick my parking lots well Keep that promise!!! Well worth it!!!! I have not seen a matched red one.... only a white one and neon yellow in the US

Bizz's LS3 6.2l V8 350Z Drift Car Project - IT CAN DRIFT!! :)

looks to fit well -
Sounds like a great event! EDIT - I may be working

The car was originally designed with having the ducktail, but the marketing guys stepped in and said that a "GTR" must have a spoiler.... The launch control is entertaining, but dont use it that often.... the revised traction control is a lot of fun Thanks! Thats my thinking and pretty much as good on the aero side definitely! Not too much really.... front speaker and amp kit has just been released, new brake setup (once the stock discs die), custom rear spoiler (Sly will be doing this it will be removable and for track days and events only), track wheels (18" opens up a lot of option tyre wise) and semi-slick tyres and possibly the Litchfield suspension (but its still VERY expensive). Will be a long term car and eventually (3-5 years time) it will go to full track car, but for now it will stay as a fast road (with some track) car. Will post up some more pictures once its all done

Thanks, thoughts on these?? http://www.autotrade...h14pr?logcode=p http://www.pistonhea...-plate/1825591# Tempted to go view and see what the cars look like.......
-
not looking for anything special... car will be used for 6-12 months on the road, but then it will be moved to a track car. So not too fussed on body and miles, just want something that is mechanically sound.

That is one seriously imposing looking car - I love it - looks great in red! Agree with AK350Z though - prefer to see the spoiler back on. Just wait till you see it with the ducktail bootlid Thanks! It was bad in the corners and under braking either.... I was catching race prepared cars in the corners, might have been down to the fact that they were on 3 wheels at the time Exactly
