  1. Once the spoiler is finished, I will be getting some proper photos done (I know a few very good photographers) :)Not bad honestly, video (love the sound in this ) below is at Silverstone (limited boost due to icy conditions, but was running full decated ypipe and downpipes with no silencers).... I have since changed the ypipe (I do prefer it as it is now - quiet most of the time, but once you go above 3200rpm the noise from the downpipes is insane) to include a silencer as I was moaned at by the officials a little over 106db:- Good choice, they will be iconic and will be around for awhile Thanks, love it too!! 2.5 years into ownership and I still get that excitement of when I first bought it (that I actually own it ).... Childhood dream for me............
  2. Great to know the above, thanks. Do i take it brake discs dont last that long? Mine are standard and are just passing 15k miles with no issues so far.
  3. Dude, cars are made of metal, not paper. If you love your car so much then why deny yourself even a moments usage?? All the graft that goes in to buying it and then you would rather walk to the shops for fear of a shopping trolley is 100% ridiculous. Its not about the quantity of time behind the wheel, its the quality of time.... I dont care whether I drive the GTR, 350z or Fiesta to Morrisons, its a 4 mile drive, in traffic and 30 zones. Why bother........ its the same as my morning commute to the train station, its 3.2 miles each way and pointless taking the GTR, the car barely warms up by then - hence the 350z purchase.
  4. If thats one of the GT race cars that was for sale, 1 of them is owned by a member on the GTR forum
  5. Car is currently with Sly being worked on 2012 suspension is going Spoiler mount bracket is being made up and fitted should be completely hidden behind the numberplate
  6. Hahaa... Im on similar mods I just have K&N drop-ins instead of the intakes. Many other expensive sports cars and GTs will have similar running costs but I think the difference is (correct me if I'm wrong) that the GTR seems to be "a way of life" and an end in itself, attracting more of the hobbyist driver than say a typical Continential GT, XKR or 997 owner? DT It does seem that way.... a lot of the GTR owners have come from the Lambo, Ferraris, etc to the GTR so dont mind spending a bit extra on the car. I saw a maserati in the city last night, awesome noise!!!! Oddly, I like saying that I drive a Nissan, its easy and simple Only car people really know what a GTR is..... Hahahaa.... I have never seen a parking space that size (the yellow lambo pic) in the UK... except for the "I have kids and require a MASSIVE 4x4" morrison spaces. Do park miles away when I go to BlueWater of something.... its the ones where you will probably scrape the wheels on Fiesta because the turns are so tight and the driveways so narrow. Would love to take a lambo rallying!!!! That would be bl00dy awesome!!!!!!! Dick...... better? GTR owners (for the most part) are just car enthusiasts, which what makes owning one great! GTR is not a supercar, its more of GT car, but still a super car
  7. About right... assuming thats discs allround and not just fronts, even then, should be able to bring that down a little. Better to estimate on the high side And my MPG seems to be a little higher than yours must try harder in the future!! 21-22 I have had the bellhousing done, could have had it done under warranty (even with the modified car), but chose to pay for the Litchfield solution as it was a solution.
  8. I have some horrible car parks around my way, that I struggled with in the supra - had to repair and respray the front bumper a few times. GTR has more clearance than the supra... I just dont like numptys denting the crap out of my car because they couldnt care less. Fortunately the red isnt that bad... still gets detailed once a year though Good idea... I see many reasons to own specific cars that I would not drive everyday.... but I dont blame you for taking the 911 EVERYWHERE, I would
  9. Now that is a cool colour! I will eventually wrap mine, but like the red too much right now. The satin colours change too much for my liking in direct sunlight... I do like the WR blue (impreza) and the orange. I am tempted by the TSWs, but the need to run a spacer to get the wheels sitting flush with body work puts me off. Still tempted though will need some track wheels soon it is big.... but all new cars are big/huge!!! Most 4x4s see the GTR coming down a country road and dive off into the mud for me only issue I have had, is that some places have rather small parking spaces and I refuse to take the car into these multi-storey car parks (too many aggressive pavements, inclines, declines, etc. Other than that, not had any issues on the roads.
  10. I have been flagged at 106db at Silverstone, they just had a word and I had to short shift where the DB meter was.... admittedly, not in the Z
  11. Not only do they breed, they are out-breeding the rest of us.... the simplest organism is the one that normally survives (not necessarily the smartest)
  12. Have a set of 2nd hand BC coilovers that I should be collecting this weekend.... and then just need to order the front block to the 370z calipers to fit on a 350z and while I wait for that, I will be ordering some 18s to go over the brakes
  13. They are expensive to maintain, but what 600+bhp car is not? Tyres have come down a lot in price.... brakes aftermarket are the only way (and cheaper than Nissans)... not many faults or issues, the big expense, is if the modding bug bites!! 600-630bhp is easy and cheap after that it gets expensive, very very expensive! Servicing at a good indy is the best option.... much cheaper than Nissan and better service. Sly is fantastic (on here as a trader as well) Pics? 615hp / 625lb-ft. Does the job Awesome looking car.... similar power to mine and does the job well Whos doing the wrap? Colour? More carbon goodies..... nice! Thinking about changing the wheels?
  14. Nice car, but I have a mate that had a CL63 and had a lot of issues. Saying that, a C63 or SL63 is still on my list
  15. Well technically, that is what the GTR was designed to do. It was designed to put supercars in their place and still be as easy to drive as a Vauxhall Corsa! I have owned my GTR since 2011, bought it new and I have not looked back, love it!!! I was tired of modding cars (have had 470bhp supra, 380bhp impreza) and was considering an Aston. Then a friend suggested I test drive the GTR....... now 2.5 years later, the car has been mildly tweaked and is still going perfectly. Runs around 620bhp, I do 7500 miles a year, track days (drive to the track, drive home from the track) and in all honesty, I would happily hand the keys to mom so she could go to the shop. A lot will depend on the version of the car you took out and what map it was running. I can choose different fuel maps from the steering wheel (95-99ron maps) and I can change the boost (0.5bar up 1.7bar - I think its 1.7bar). I run 0.5bar in the winter, as it was too easy to get the wheels spinning with full boost. The traction control can be a right pain, but the new Litchfield traction control is MUCH better!!! The gearbox map will also make a big difference, as well the normal or race mode setting on the day. The GTR is not for everyone, but I like it because I can use it everyday, motorways, road trips (going to be doing a 2 week road trip in May doing nearly 2000 miles with the odd track day inbetween).... It just does everything so well!! Sadly, my guess is that you were in normal gearbox, normal suspension and normal for the traction control.... and really life in a GTR gets very entertaining in race mode for everything Where are you based? Any questions, feel free to PM me lastly, this is all in my opinion and I am obviously biased, since I own and love the GTR.... trackday video (any chance I get to post it):-
  16. Any wheels (with tyres going)?
