  2. Didn't think you could still buy a new 430..... losing your 430 scud on the first day, must suck
  3. Im an IT specialist in the SQL Server field (London based) and work as a contractor through my own LTD and have done so for 8 years or so now. Contracting is the reason I was able to afford the GTR and its the reason why at the end of this year I am able to step away from IT completely. So I am whole-heartedly behind contracting! The trick is learn how to live on a smaller salary every month, not having masses of expenses, etc. You also end up with spare/excess cash in the company (I term it "Forced Savings") but there are ways to eventually get the money out. Admittedly, the first 3 months were scary as hell, but now I wouldn't hesitate to not do it. I am constantly trying to talk friends into doing it.... I quite happily took a month off earlier in the year just to spend time with my girlfriend who wasn't working at the time and with all my holidays, I take of 2-3 months per year. PM me if you want specific info or questions, etc
  4. oops - didnt realise.........
  5. Not to mention the flash addin crashing all the time and the loading of videos being terribly slow
  6. I had stopped using them awhile ago, but I left a load of stuff there..... now all old stuff is disabled so have closed that account!
  7. So when did PhotoBucket become a subscriber service? All my embedded images now display a P500 picture, which means that they want me to pay $40 per month to embed my images. In the process of deleting all my images from there now

    Golf R

BMW + pink metallic wrap = job done I know Im a bimmer fan but can someone explain to me how a Golf stands out more than 2 series BMW though? Ive been asked to take a kid to a prom in my E82 tomorrow, while I could see it in an FRS I doubt youd ever get that in a Golf would you? Easy, BMW is RWD...... so its just a matter of driving it properly

Would depend how you stand out....... Golf will not do that, unless you go a bit silly. Price bracket and purpose?

Have driven a friends around Thruxton circuit, they are a nice car, but there is nothing special. All depends on the use, but I would be looking at the BMW
  11. Brilliant read! And couldnt agree more!!!
  12. Exactly what I did when I was in Zurich, but again, may be a lot easier based on location
  13. Just at Slys having the service, MOT and a new set of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres put on
  14. Me a cynic well Im just appalled! I work in IT, I see how bad security is everyday and the security/data auditing that is done is just a joke!
  15. I have let this disappear as I wasn't ready to sell the car, but as of the middle of July the car will be available and ready to go It will be a sad day to see this go, as I have owned the car for nearly 6 years from brand new and had an awesome 50k miles in it, but as some of you may know, I made some big changes in my life over the last 12 months. The next big change is moving out of the work I do completely and going travelling I will be starting in Japan (with no real plans to come back to the UK in the near future) and of course will be sending some cars (and parts if people want stuff) back, but in the meantime this needs to be sold. It is a brilliant example of a GTR, for the spec and setup is just about perfect! Not much has changed in the details above, mileage will be around 53k once I am back from Romania and spec of the car remains the same (the R888Rs and alcons are obviously on the car as well Pagid RS29s). The car goes in for a service next week Tuesday, then I go to Romania as the final drive in the car on 1 July for 10 days and once back the car will go in for a full detail with Christian - then she is ready to go!
  16. Canada (and The U.S.A) has a lot of Ragweed which releases copious amounts of pollen in the autumn. Caroline had a really bad reaction went we passed a tractor cutting ragweed in Utah. It was bad enough for us to go to a pharmacy for advice. Chemist took one look and , said "Rabbit Brush (a type of ragweed) allergy, very common around here". Gave her some tablets, forget the name, but it didn't clear up till we'd been home for a few weeks Pete Wow! Thats harsh!!
  17. I've suffered with hayfever for years since i was about 10 years old , I used to get Terfenadine prescribed for many years and that worked really well but then they found it was really bad for you so i struggled to find anything that would help , now on Fexofenadine from the doctor which knocks it back but doesn't stop it altogether. Funnily enough I lived in Canada for a year and when I went to the Docs for my annual prescription he said that many Brits don't suffer with hayfever there and its was relatively unheard of despite lots of grasses and sure enough not a peep of a symptom , the docs opinion was it was linked to air pollution as much as pollen and perhaps he was right Hmmm, interesting.... I know that people smoking around me sets if off quite badly, I really struggle I go up to my moms place (she smokes). Canada sounds like a good idea!
  18. I have decided to embrace my extra few hours and will sleep with my headphones near me, so that I can start going through the languages I want to learn (online courses, audiobooks, flashcards, etc). Not a fan of doctors, so they can find another way to get their £7 for a prescription
  19. Not banned, they are still given in extreme cases..... yes its steroid based.... hayfever is the result of an over active immune system Im willing to take the risk on injections
  20. Do agree.... Afrikaans I already know, so just re-learn some of the vocabulary. Afrikaans will make make learning Dutch and German much easier. Japanese is purely because I will be living there for a little while, so would like the basics. No doubt I will try and learn some others as I progress with my travels and Spanish will eventually be on the list.
  21. Good to know..... old age..... may well have to put it down to that. I used to be like your daughter, but no more.....
  22. I have been through insomnia - hated it!!! Worst months I can remember. Good point about the metabolism.... because mine is similar to what you describe and Im 38, going on 39. I picked up some weight while away on holiday and within 2-3 days of being back to normal walking, climbing and healthier eating the weight disappeared. I am quite active, although I have an office job, but walk everywhere, dont take trains and I do a fair bit of climbing in a week. Trying to re-learn Afrikaans as its been years since I spoke it plus the GF is French (she was actually my French tutor - thats how we met ), Dutch as Afrikaans is an easy switch and Japanese..... Since I am going to Japan next year.
  23. Not that much in my head luckily For the last 13 months I've gone to sleep at, 11pm,usually awake at 530am, and normally out of bed by 6am. Initially this was because my daughter would wake up at 5am but she is now sleeping through from 7pm till 7am. I use the time from 6-7am to get paperwork done, infact that is my most productive hour interms of getting writing done. If your falling asleep fine and feel fine I really wouldn't worry. Im going to start reading some more.... trying to learn a few languages, so seems like the ideal time to listen to some audio books.
  24. I have suffered with hayfever for years (decades).... in South Africa I used to get 2 injections a year and they worked brilliantly! The UK is the only country that refuses to do the injections, the doctors say its because of what it is and the long term side effects (technically this is only with prelonged and excessive use), I say its because they would lose their prescription fee for 4-5 sets of drugs per month with me. I also now have almost no sense of smell thanks to all the nasal sprays that I have been told to try. What works for me is Benadryl PLUS and Boots decongestion tablets, plus I use an air purifier for the room that I sleep in - aircon would do the same thing. The last item has worked wonders for me....
