  1. Q5) What about the transaxle - some competitors have seven or eight speeds, so why does the GT-R have only six? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bc5wIKGnC0k Q6) The R34 had the HICAS rear wheel steering system. Why didn't that make it onto the latest GT-R? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gil9Utvq2GM
  2. Q3) In your previous answer, you seemed to be telling us the parameters of 1700kgs weight and 485hp were set from the beginning of the project, is that correct http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXtOYrL67Fo Q4) Why did you opt for a V6 engine, instead of an engine with more cylinders? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf8rADuMcLM
  3. One of the things that makes it heavy is the drivetrain and how it transfers power from the rear to the front. Porche 918 - would it be as good with out the batteries - NO! Would it have come close to the Nurburgring laptime it did?? No again...
  4. Given say the 50k difference, I know you could easily match If not better the hp, do you think you could match the handling? I guess yes, but its then a tuned gtr you would unlikely get your money back on, I would imagine the Nismo will hold its value? Dont get me wrong, Its a huge sum of cash, but, if you wanted something equal to its performance from a road car, I dont think 125k would even get you close. Spot on.... Stage 4 is over 600 bhp - cost is roughly 3k Ohlins suspension or litchfields - 4k (fitted including vat) carbon brakes - 15k gearbox upgrades - 2k plus a load of other handling mods from litchfields - 5k and that would be a monster GTR Im heading that way, but doubt I will take it that far The Nismo edition is just that a special edition - limited numbers etc. Its just a shame they did go further with the brakes, they really should be carbon in order to compete with the porsches, lambos, etc and that new Z28
  5. I would agree with the comment about the Nismo.... cant justify the cost. Especially when its so easy to mod a GTR to that sort of standard for a lot less. However, it is very very quick... fastest in class at Goodwood:-
  6. Awesome car..... so want one!!! And I may have a ride in a replica one in 2 weeks time at a Nissan event Heres my favorite video:-

    Rollcage

    both look good, thanks
  8. Thanks! Where abouts are you in West Sussex?
  9. some what agree.... get the cheap car and some thing stupid for the weekends, cant give anything to the 2nd wife if you are bankrupt 2+2 rather than a 4 seater. Boot isn't exactly that big either. For a big car, space is at a premium. Still an absolute hoot though! Because the porsche boot is so large not to mention the parcel shelf behind the front seats In all honesty, I dont classify the GTR as having rear seats! I wouldnt drive more than 10/20 minutes with 4 people in the car. 3 people in means that the one in the back has their feet on the other section of the seat. have to agree
  10. Really? 30mpg from a turbo charged 500bhp car......... I struggle to believe that! My GTR has averaged 22-23mpg, rather good considering what some others get. If doing 80-140 miles per day, I would go comfortable and easy to drive.... Audi S5 maybe.
  11. Unfortunately, thats what happens when the car can everything so well. Cruise to the shops, GT road trip of 4000 miles, track days on the way and bringing back over £300 worth of champagne Cayman GTS (think its that one) is supposed to be rather good. C63 AMG? Personally I didnt like it, but many do.
  12. lovely looking, just wondering what the price will be, considering what the LFA is
  13. Look great.... price?
  14. Whats next? GOAL:- Everyday car plus casual drift and track car Stripping the rear of the car of tools, spare wheel, plastics, rear metal strut brace and the metal structure behind the seats (no idea on its name). Followed shortly by the adding of a rear half cage, some bucket seats and harnesses (but need to retain standard seatbelts as well). Diff? Remap? Thoughts?
  15. bttt - rollcage is high on my list of things to get right now
  16. looks great!! loving the wheels
  17. Off topic, but I test drove a C63 AMG and was not impressed, seating position was odd (feet are over to the right and steering wheel is over to the left), the standard Mercedes foot/parking brake and the car just did not feel as special as it should have. Felt like any of the new Mercs with a little bit of noise (and I had to have the windows open to hear it). Also, the service I received from Merc was terrible!!! Made to wait ages, salesman just walked away without saying anything.... I very nearly walked out without the test drive! Obviously, this is all my opinion and I hope you have a better experience in the car!
  18. Hahaa, opps.... no change, still the cobra exhaust then does it change the sound much? Can it be silenced a bit more? Price? Thanks
  19. Need to replace my ypipe as the flexi bits have worn through and are blowing. Whats about? Can I get a silenced version to make the car a little quieter? Have a scorpion rear section and midpipe. What have you got for me?
  20. Mini Cooper (classic) - loved it, but too easy to break (I removed the gearshifter from the gearbox and dented the roof - at the same time) Nissan GT-R35 - love it!!!! Better than I ever expected Honda S2000 - disappointed, felt cramped inside and having to rev the engine takes getting used too Audi R8 v10 - lovely sound, but the gear change is terrible Aston Martin v8 Vantage S - lovely sound, but the gear change is terrible Mercedes C63 AMG - disappointed, just felt like an average car that someone had put a v8 into, nothing special
