Oh yes, definitely add me to the list! I will be doing a "proper project", just depends on your idea of restoration. I will start looking at the beginning of next year for the car, got some other projects to finish up first.

My missus likes these, so spoke to Alfa at Goodwood about them, but an 18 month wait is just silly! Interior was nice, but not sure its worth the price.... Not to mention that there is a convertible coming soon...

Was an absolutely awesome day and driving hako just made even better....

there are a couple of poor quality iPhone videos of the drive out in Hakosuka, but you can hear the noise and it IS fantastic!!!

So far fine.... good when cold (have to use a little more pedal, but completely predictable) and rather good on the short track You will need to be careful with the Ferodos on track, I did consider them as they are very good on the road, but not so on track.

Think you are driving the manual 350 and reach down for the gearshifter http://s920.photobucket.com/user/grahamcleverly/media/Events/2014/Nissan%20Experience/IMG_0666_zpsa322eea9.mp4.html

Saturday just passed was a Nissan Experience day at Donnington. A couple of owners were invited to give fast passenger laps to unsuspecting people around The Heritage Loop at Donnington. Very short course, but fun nonetheless. We left on Friday and spent 6 hours doing a drive that should have been 2, but this all dwarfed by the fantastic day had on Saturday! And to top it off, I not on got to see my dream car, I got to driven around in it:- Then I got to drive it (dream come true - next I just need to own one....) Absolutely fantastic car and I cannot thank the owner enough!!!!!!!!!!!

Another quick update... had the DBA discs all round and the Pagid RS29 pads all round fitted, with a big service, MOT and a few other small things done. Car is progressing nicely!! Just waiting for the 350 to come back and then the GTR is off for a well earned detail Still looking for someone to help with the front bumper and the rear spoiler!

Awesome build!! Cant wait for updates....

On the track its heavy on tyres and brakes, but it handles the power/weight rather well, so I am in agreement. There are better track cars, but as for a car you can just rock up in........ not much can beat it

Easy to change.... make it a Datsun badge

Its the design of the car.... new version of the old classics

Right, now I see where you're going. That's fair comment. HOWEVER (and you knew this was coming...!) Much like the 350Z, I could forgive the weight easily IF the quality of the interior justified it. IMHO, it doesn't. That's the exact same thing I've levelled at the Evora as well, so it's not just Nissan that have a monopoly on cheap interiors. Is the GTR interior acceptable? Yeah, it is, and at £60K it definitely was. Is the quality of the interior justifed by the extra weight it adds? I don't think so, but then there's other cars to level that at as well. Add to the fact that the price is now £80K and you're into a whole new argument. Honestly, I actually like the GTR interior, but yes, I bought a MY10 when they were still decent money. Now..... its a bit of a different story.... however, I recently test drove the R8 V10 and aside from the noise the GTR was better in even aspect! The interior of the GTR was more comfortable and open, the gear change in the GTR is fantastic compared to the R8, R8 was slow in comnparison, I could not use the R8 as a GT car (there is space for a small handbag and thats it).... Having said that, I cant bring myself to buy a new GTR either, for me there is no value. I did come from supras and imprezas, so any interior would be better, really! I have looked at 430s and Gallardos as well and absolutely hate the interior in the standard models, only the Scuds and the Leg versions are worth considering, but they are even more money that. Its the compromise that Nissan made and all those that have bought the GTR.

Without meaning to crap on your thread, the reason that I didnt buy them is the tyre tread depth.... I would immediately have to spend another heap of money on tyres, that and the missus scratched the crappy 17s, so I went for crappy 18s GLWTS -
Anyone go? Saw the GTR 2020 concept.... shell only I assume:- And the IDx.... Im really really really liking this:-

Want a 1250kg R35 GTR..... buy this:- http://en.wikipedia....iki/Nissan_GT-R Or this:-

I never said it wouldnt be For me, the reason the GTR doesnt weigh less is cost. Mate, Ive driven 400hp in 500KG in the pissing rain at Spa, I didnt have any trouble. Ive also driven 700hp in 1100KGs on the road and it was still possible to put your foot down, the amounts of weight we are talking about have negligible effects on grip ........ apart from lateral grip of course. Phil Morrison claims the new Driftwork AE86 wont spin up in anything other than 1 st gear, thats 650hp and under 1000KG. Yeah, because they came straight out an admitted they cocked the 350 up and had to add 100's KG to stop it folding in on itself. Theres no two ways about it, the GTR is amazing but it would be more amazing in every single respect if it was 500KG lighter. ike the race car is, does that tell you anything? I remember LOLing at the ridiculous statement that the weight makes it faster at the time and I will continue to LOL at it until we achieve zero gravity here on earth The point of the GTR is that its NOT a race car.... its a car for every occassion, I dont want a GTR weighing in at 1200kgs, stripped, noisy, uncomfortable, etc. I have seen the test videos of that AE86 and I really dont believe that statement - its an awesome build though!!! However a purpose built space frame chassis cannot be compared to a road car. As a race car, yes, it would be better being lighter... but as a GT road car, I think they got it right

Depends on how you define good. I care little for laptimes these days and more about the driving experience, and in my own experiences I know just how better a car can be when you remove the weight. Would the 918 be any quicker? Well, maybe or maybe not (depends on whether they kept the 4WD), but would it arguably feel a lot more fun? Almost without doubt. Would the GT-R be quicker if it shed weight? Yes, absolutely it would. Physics are tricky things to beat. It would be quicker (more than likely), but at what point does light become too light? At some point the car is going to require so much aero weight in order to be able to put the power down. Depends on your definition of "better" Depends on how you define good. Yes, absolutely it would. Physics are tricky things to beat. Better in what way? If you are not interested in lap times, why do you care what it weighs? If fun is the measurement, then the GTR needs to lose its active 4WD system, not the weight. Have you driven a GTR? In more than just a test drive capacity? hahaaa, love that!!!! No I dont, but at some point (not sure what point that is) the GTR will just end up spinning all its wheels with too much power and too light holding it to the road. Which is where aero is required (hence why cars like the Caparo cant be driven slowly - not enough holding on the road). Nissan has stated that they believe they got that balance right with the GTR, they have also gone out and destroyed cars that are lighter and more powerful Good enough for me

some good builds on zclub
