I never really tried to mod the WRX I had.... cone, exhaust and remap was about it. 1->2 syncro was crap when cold, but not many issues. WRXs were always weaker engine and gearbox wise. The STi I had and modded was brilliant.... next owner blew it up on track, but it was about 10 track days later and near 90k miles and he was planning for it to happen, its now a 2.1l Maybe you should buy another to see if it was the car and crap tuners or if it was/is just you

I thought you meant mechanically obviously. Never mind me, carry on. No worries. i can remember why you'd question the "reliability" of a Subaru. You were sensationally unlucky. That is very true, ...two blown engines, two gearbox rebuilds etc etc That does sound very unlucky..... I dont know many that have had 1 of either, let alone 2 of each. And most of those expected it as they knew they were running too much power, etc.

Oops.... should be fixed now

2nd track day done Love the sound of the supercharger http://vid920.photob...zps1uvyzfu7.mp4 Car was putting most things to shame at Goodwood had people coming up and asking about it, etc surprised AMG mercs, 500hp Jags, Porsche GTS boxsters..... its currently at Slys having a few changes and checks done. Exhaust is blowing a lot, ARBs and the car developed a lovely electrical fault towards the end of the day when really pushing into corners.... it would completely lose power for 1/2 a sec and then come back which surprisingly the car didnt like too much. At the end of the day, the power cuts were more frequent. However, we were both so happy with the way the car performed at Goodwood, that we are not going to change anything on the suspension or power front for now. It was just lovely to drive!! I really do prefer hammering this little thing on track VS the GTR, its just so much fun!! And now that its quite quick, its damn near perfect!

Some pics from a recent track day at Goodwood unfortunately due to noise restrictions (96db on drive-by) we were both shifting 5k rpm, but a GTR is still pretty quick at that level I absolutely love Goodwood, awesome track!

the newer ones have always been decent mechanically, its poor modding and mapping that causes problems. The old ones had a problem with cylinder 3 and oil starvation as it was closest to the HOT turbo. Never had major issues with the 4 that I have owned and the 1 I bought for a friend.

Never would have taken you for a Scooby fan congrats on the RE-purchase. I have had a few, but the bugeye sti running 380bhp and too many suspension mods was so much fun! Shame I bought the GTR and the Scooby just wasnt used. They are fantastic cars in all weather (especially rain and snow). Enjoy it!

must have been.... spent about 1-2 weeks at Sly and then 1.5 years at current body shop

Thanks all..... looking forward to getting this done! Will do..... It should be getting MOTd by the end of the month, so will be within a few weeks of that. 240z is being dry fitted now, then paint, so its not too far off completion and I am only allowed to keep one. Out of interest, how long were these at Sly's? I didn't realize it was forum member until just now. I drove over to Sly's for a service and while I was waiting, stumbled across these two parked up the side of the building. They looked lovely in person! Not long.... blue one got sold off quickly and this one went to bodyshop.

I do like the gunmetal grey, but I am also thinking its a little boring.... Nissan chicane yellow Not interested in high performance turbo engines for this car, it should be all about the looks and the noise.... So RB20/25 na or 350z with throttle bodies, still very undecided on the engine. Want to see how the standard one goes first. Noooooo go classy with the grey lol. Like Eleanor in gone in 60. Throttled vq35de/hr would be awesome. Yeah Eleanors colours look good on Eleanor We shall soon see The car will be far from original, so colour may as well stand out a bit. Good idea..... luckily Im not putting it back together

latest pics are how the car stands now.... the plan is for the arches to be black and the car to be a colour that I have not yet decided upon (I keep changing my mind)
-
Well since the GTR has stayed red (no wrap) I need to find a new colour for the 240z Starting to dry fit parts before the respray Wheels look a little wide
-
Not a great amount of photos, but the car is progressing. All the little bits are being done, new wiring loom, etc. She has now been lowered and is standard on some nice wheels

Drift day.... 1 to 1 with an instructor..... £ for £ the most fun I have had there car, there tyres, there fuel.

Side and rear profile looks awesome, but from the front it looks a touch odd.... wouldnt say no if Aston Martin decided to give me one £2-3 million of my own money

These sound lovely, had one on the trackday at Goodwood. However I test drove one a little while ago to see if I would prefer it to the GTR and well surprisingly disappointing. It was the v10, cant remember which flappy paddle system it was but the gear changes were not great, the interior seemed very generic Audi and the thing had utterly NO space to go anywhere. I also think that the R8 is too similar to the GTR (IE. AWD type of system, flappy paddles, etc) and my my old GTR was a better drive. A couple months back, I tested the N430 Aston Martin and that I really liked. Manual, v8, not trying to be stupidly fast, but handles superbly thanks to bonded chassis and engine being set mostly behind the front struts (near perfect weight distribution). Oh yes and it comes with a boot. I think its different enough that it cant really be compared to the GTR (IE. RWD, NA, manual). However, the Vantage replacement is supposed to be on its way and I am waiting for that to be released The boot/storage space is very important as Mel and I tend to do a lot of trips over to Europe (1-4 weeks) and anyone that has traveled with a woman will immediately realise that backpack sized storage (R8, Lambo, Porsche, etc) is just not good enough. -
Could add it to the "Spotted or flyered" area to see if anyone owns up. Link: http://www.350z-uk.c...ted-or-flyered/ Good call http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/109990-silver-350z-and-white-370z-at-goodwood-trackday/

Saw a white 370z and a silver 350z at the Goodwood trackday last Thursday 7th July. Anyone on here?? I was in a red GTR and silver MX5 (green wheels) and my friend was in a silver megane and silver GTR
