Involved in an accident while stationary
GMballistic replied to se350z's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I have to admit when someone local to me crashed into me I did the same thing once. He was a young guy so obviously was worried about his premiums going up on his sporty car that he was driving. I got 3 quotes and he paid the cheapest of the 3 which I was happy with. Paid me in cash before I got the work done so I was happy to go that route with him but only because he lived literally just around the corner from me with his parents so I was as sure as I could be that he wasn't going to try & pull a fast one. Tbh now I'd go through the insurers. At least that way if you're not happy with the job or the guy turns around saying he's not paying then you've got some come back. Have you checked his registration on the DVLA plate/MOT check sites yet? Will show you if it's taxed/MOT'd for starters. -
That isn't great news but thank goodness you didn't lose your car, ...I did hear years ago of a Jap car tuning garage going bust and apparently quite a few customers were at risk of losing their cars or did lose their cars. Obviously it was dodgy though. I've heard nothing but good things about Sly so hopefully everything will be finished in short order and you can get to enjoy the car asap.

Try zmanalex or Emperor Tuning.

Matches your Zed nicely.

Very nice indeed. I'm a big fan of the "duck bill" type spoilers, ...seem to look good on most cars imo. Fyi ~ I noticed your gutters need a little clean (no offence intended).

It's extremely satisfying and yes very interesting as every day is different. Been at it almost 5 years now with the company I'm with but maybe changing soon, ..hoping to stay within the industry though as additive manufacture, albeit a fairly old concept now is still at the forefront of manufacturing.

Might look silly as I don't own a shotgun Umbrella rack? I guess so or what about possibly a "Super Soaker" rack for summer fun maybe?! Bet that V8 sounds great btw.
-
Getting there then. Definitely think you need a shotgun rack for the cab though.

Welcome aboard Adam.

I'm well aware cs that ABS is used in a lot of manufacturing components but most of these have had some R&D put into them as well as using ABS specifically used in these environments before. Lots of variants chemically in what actually makes up ABS. As you would be offering these parts to others who then would put them in their cars it is only fair to point out a possible risk that may occur should the part fail especially as it is essentially untested. I say essentially untested because ideally you'd want a product before going on the market to be tested for a good length of time being exposed to as many as, if not all variants in temperature range & conditions. I work in additive manufacturing currently as a Rapid Prototyping Technician so I use 3D printers on a daily basis although we use Projet & SLA machines which are a lot more high end than these extruding filament 3D printers. The parts though even we create are for the most part intended as prototype parts for proof of concept/design, pieces of artwork, trial fitment parts, medical or for use in creating silicone tools which would then be used to create small run batch production parts using various types of resins. Anyway I've said my piece and you know what you need to do if you do decide to go ahead with any type of batch manufacture.

Never heard of APR De-Cats or APN De-Cats. If they are De-Cats then it should just be a straight through pipe, ...you can of course get silenced De-Cats which are a little different. Can you get any pictures of them underneath the car as it "may" help people identify them for you. If your exhaust isn't loud enough with a Milltek exhaust system & De-Cats though either you don't actually have De-Cats or you have something seriously wrong with your hearing. Basically what I'm saying is that should be a fairly loud set up anyway imo.

Moved & approved. GLWTS. -
Not meaning to put a dampener on your idea Lewis/CS but it is a concern (imo) to the life expectancy of this part with it being constantly subjected to varying temperatures which may lead to part degradation. I understand you are planning on using ABS filament which in itself has a better resistance to higher temperatures than PLA filament and although it does have good strength properties it is as yet a totally untested part in the environment you're putting it in. Just airing more on the side of caution with the part itself being passed the filtration area for the engine meaning that if any break down of the part did happen, no matter how minor it would without doubt be sucked into the engine so anyone intending to fit these would need to be well aware of the "possible" risk they may be taking. Also with regards to selling these on the forum cs2000 you would need to get in contact with glrnet (Graham) in order to re-open your trader status/account.

How much is it worth thread - STS turbo kit
GMballistic replied to Stemo's topic in Forced Induction
It's basically worth what someones willing to pay for it. I mean it is a brand new kit as you say but obviously it won't have a warranty on it like a shop bought part I'm guessing so anyone buying it might be a little wary. Personally I'd try your luck at selling it on an auction site or something similar to that. Maybe starting at the least sensible low figure which you'd be willing to take for the kit. That way if it doesn't sell you've not lost anything, if it does sell for the minimum price then you're okay with that and anything above that is a bonus. -
Looks great. I'm always worried about colour matching in these situations but it looks great from here.

That is properly mental, ....and the sound of that engine was awesome.

Awesome cars. If I ever win the lottery I'm getting a GTR of some description as soon as the moneys in my bank. So much want.
-
Yes AFAIK. Just tell him you have a "2004 Nissan 350Z coupe" and you want to buy a full set of wheel nuts to suit your Rota 19" alloys. Mitz will know what you need.
-
Wheel nuts are cheap enough to buy new and from a safety point of view very important so from what you've just said I'd bin the lot of them then imo. Mitz could do you a full brand new set and I'm sure it wouldn't be much money, ...maybe £25 or so at a guess for a decent set. Give him a PM on here or quickest way would be to ring him.
