  1. Is it just numbers you're chasing or actual performance improvements? If it's performance to make the Zed/you go faster then you could look at better tyres (depending on what you've got already), suspension improvements, improved brakes, some driver training etc. For actual Bhp improvements I think you've pretty much covered it before you start having to spend a fair bit of money for not a lot of an increase. For example you could get a nice set of exhaust manifolds (£400 & upwards) for a few more ponies but fitting will cost you a lot at a garage ~ usually easiest to have them fitted with the engine out of the car. Something else you might not have considered as a good performance increasing upgrade is a lightweight flywheel and new clutch kit. A lot of people state a much improved drive afterwards as well as an improvement in acceleration. More noticeable I'm sure if you've an old worn OEM clutch & flywheel unit. Whatever power mod parts you add though (apart from clutch, suspension etc) you'll need your UpRev map tweaked to account for the new mod (like manifolds) so that's a bit more money on top again.
  2. ^^ This. Also you can find with some performance cars that they swap hands more often than more "normal" motors for a host of reasons, ...sometimes it's as simple as they're more expensive to run which catches some people out. Welcome aboard.
  3. For safety's sake you need a more powerful engine for safer over takes, bigger brakes to help with hard braking necessities, etc etc. The list goes on I'd say. Looking good.
  4. Welcome aboard. Have a read around the forum Nzed to see if the "little niggle" questions on your 350 have already been answered elsewhere on the forum like in the "350Z Technical" sub section. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/12-350z-technical/ Otherwise try a Google search using: "350Z UK _ _ _ _ _ _" with your query afterwards. For example: "350Z UK washer pump motor problem". This usually brings up a lot more answers than the forums search bar so well worth a try if you're looking for answers.
  5. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. The HR engine has two throttle bodies/intakes. For the charger kit to work you'd need, I'd imagine, some work around that; lots of extra pipe work, new plenum chamber etc etc. Not saying that it can't be done just that this is AFAIK a specific kit for the 350Z DE engine so in answer to your question it won't fit a HR as is.
  6. Sounds good Jeman. Also noticed the MGB mudflap, ....GT model or roadster?
  7. Great stuff Lee. Glad you got it all sorted, ...good luck with the sale.
  8. I feel your pain Dragonfire and I'm sure most on the forum would agree with you that it's a pretty messed up situation. I was surprised when I went from my 2003 Nissan 350Z that was heavily modified with a supercharger producing 436Bhp which I paid a reasonable premium for, that the insurer wanted more when I decided to downgrade to a 2008 Honda Civic Type R (198Bhp) whilst I was saving for a house, ...makes no flippin' sense what so ever. Needless to say I changed insurers to another company who charged me less. I just find that I'm forced to change every year now which is a ball ache but not as bad as paying OTT premiums.
  9. Very cool. How does the smoker work then? Is it liquid based, ...I assume it's like an oil burning off then of some description is it.
  10. Id only be a guarantor for my own kids ........ and youre effectively a guarantor for them anyway Maybe financially at times but once they're over 18 (or is it 16?) then legally they're responsible for themselves. Nuts. Was just about to ring me dad, was eyeing up the charger in the for sale section lol. But at 30 something I'm definitely over both 18 and 16. Don't worry you're not alone. My Dad won't buy me an R35 GTR the selfish barsteward, Something about "I'm retired now, you've got your own money, me & your mother aren't a bank..." blah blah blah.
  11. This is the first time ive ever got any breakdown cover. Always relied upon calling up a mate with a tow rope, or limping home. But figured with my 997 I should splash out, especially when it cost hardly anything via the tesco points. Definitely a worth while investment I'd say. For me personally I have found the RAC an invaluable thing to have especially when I used to own a my96 JDM Subaru Impreza WRX. That car spent more time on the back of an RAC flatbed recovery truck then it did on the road.

  13. Chris I was watching "Can't Pay? We'll take it away" (S5, Ep8) on channel 5 tonight and it reminded me of this thread. A father had gone guarantor for his daughter on a rented house. She stopped paying rent almost immediately and didn't tell anyone she wasn't paying or couldn't, ...fast forward 12 months and a CCJ has now been escalated to a High Court Writ. The High Court Enforcement Officers turned up at the fathers home as he was the guarantor. The debt was now £9000 and the family just didn't have that kind of money or know anyone with it that could or would help. The sh*t daughter didn't even come round and only offered £300 towards the debt. They ended up taking his "Range Rover Vogue Sport" (his transport) that was the only real thing of any value that the family owned. Unfortunately it only sold at auction for £2990 so he is having to pay the remaining balance through a payment plan. I'd rather cut off my own arm than go guarantor for anyone. That's what it'll end up costing you and more if they default on an agreement.
  14. This is great and what my mother always does as she shops at Tescos the most. I'm with the RAC as well and have been for well over a decade now. Used them lots of times in the past and have always felt the price is fair. Thread moved btw marzman.
  15. I don't usually start threads like this but as Castle Combe circuit is close to my heart as well as the people that go there I thought I'd bring this to peoples attention. Everybody has probably heard by now about Billy Mongers terrible accident at Donington Park race circuit as well as all the lovely donations made for him by members of the public, race stars and celebs alike but not a lot of people have heard about Craig Walker who was involved in a serious crash at Castle Combe circuit last Bank Holiday Monday. Story below. His "Just Giving" page is here: https://www.justgivi...ing/craigwalker Even if you can't donate could those of you that wish to please post on Facebook or similar to try and help them reach their target for him. I'm sure anything would be appreciated by the family at this difficult time.
