  1. You can DIY anything of course but can't say I recall reading of anyone fitting a new slave in a HR Zed themselves on here but doesn't mean it hasn't happened or that someones not done it on here. If you do have to replace the slave cylinder as the box has to come off you might want to consider whether you want to do a new clutch/flywheel whilst you're at it. You could of course just have the clutch/fly inspected for wear but if the cars high mileage and never had the clutch/fly done it may well need doing realistically.
  2. I'm not 100% sure tbh but I know you will get some wiring with the head unit included, ...just not sure that it's called the "patch lead". It's usually wiring with specific plugs to suit the make of head unit. Lots of patch leads here: https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/stereo-patch-leads.html See if anyone else replies on here or check with the audio place you get to fit it if that's the way you are going. You could also try asking Buster directly as he seems to know the 350's ICE set ups pretty well. He is here: http://www.350z-uk.com/user/11228-buster/ Also this "volume fix" is worth a read: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/107583-how-to-busters-rca-headunit-volume-fix-guide/
  3. I'm not sure what that "Advanced" socket set is like but I've got a fair few Halfords "Professional" tools which haven't let me down yet. True one of my favourite items is my 30 piece Halfords "Professional" screwdriver set so not a lot that could necessarily go wrong per se with that but I've also a 1/2" breaker bar and 1/2" Professional torque wrench with both items having probably over a decades worth of use with no sign of issues as yet. A lifetime guarantee on anything nowadays is always a good thing imho and fairly rare.
  4. No problem at all zelda and you're welcome. Let us know how you get on once you've made a decision.
  5. Not my cup of tea ~ just not a fan of how that head unit looks tbh plus if something goes wrong getting it back to the seller on eBay may be a PITA. What about this Sony WX-900BT head unit from Halfords for £119: http://www.halfords....CFVdAGwodNI4LYQ Edit: Have a good read in here for the info you need. 6. Was it okay Andy? Was he a customer then or does he work for them? Hope he's okay and the car too.
  7. I wager I'd want to do the same but the Fire brigade would stop you for one as well as any half decent employer as your life's worth more than a car and not replaceable either, unlike the car. So sad to look at those pictures though. I've seen glass melt in car fires so I'm not surprised the alloy has melted as glass I believe has a higher melting point. Still wonder how the fire began.
  8. That makes sense, ...tbh I didn't miss my headlight washers once they'd gone/bottle removed anyway so I doubt you will either. As I said Jez and Craig at Horsham did mine so hopefully they can help. Good luck.
  9. When I went FI I also had to remove the passenger side washer bottle for the intercooler pipe work but I know others have done different. I believe it was Sam McGoo who told me on his the re-routed the passenger side pipe work back to the drivers side so both windscreen wash & headlight wash worked off the one bottle, ...both motors are already there so it shouldn't be too difficult to fathom. Horsham Developments removed mine though and blocked all the plumbing off so you could try giving Jez a PM on here or better yet a phone call/email directly to see if he can tell you what you want to know. Thread moved btw.
  10. That's awful news, ....thankfully nobody hurt in the fire from what I've just been reading but still heartbreaking for so many at the company as well as for their customers.
  11. That's a piece of art, ...would look good on the wall in my garage never mind hidden underneath a Zed. GLWTS.
  12. Such a shame but needs must I guess. Don't be a stranger.
  13. Welcome aboard. Keep an eye on the "Zeds For Sale" sub section to see if any you like pop up. Found here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/51-zeds-for-sale/
  14. Cool. I used to work for a classic car restorers in Cardiff and we mainly did MG's and Triumphs. Everything from full rebuilds from the ground up to simple things like servicing. I have a good bit of time for a nice MGB.
