  1. Some interesting & funny comments in there. Think I like this guys response best....
  2. If you are looking for a used S/c set up Mikes selling a complete kit with some new parts as well: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/97206-supercharger-parts-for-sale-updated-20-apr-15/
  3. Did you take the Zed on track? I did see an Azure blue 350Z that was on track, ...maybe 11:30 ish?. Then later I saw the same Zed parked up in the car park and people were working on it with tools and things. If they hadn't been busy I might have popped over. Wasn't you was it?
  4. Look's pretty good on her... But totally agree with you Danny. Not for me either.
  5. I'm sure he's used to that sort of shenanigans by now.
  6. You know it makes sense. Good luck with the dyno btw.
  7. If it works for you and still handles how you want it to then it's up to you. Just bear in mind that generally it's not a good idea to have mismatched tyres even if they are the same on each axle. For example with different tread patterns, construction strength etc you could be setting your vehicle up to be unstable or even dangerous like if the fronts grip more than the rear or vice a versa under braking/cornering etc. Personally I'd say you should have the same make/type/model of tyre on each side, front to back. Safest way to be imo.
  8. Yep that is true although if the offending bad driver is hoping to go on track more than once it's still worth having a word afterwards.
  9. It was good to watch but I honestly didn't like the colour of that Zed. Yeah was a bit mustardy... A bit?!
  10. Look's pretty good and you can't tell in the pictures that they are different size alloys. Just don't tell Dan you've got mis-matched tyres.
  11. Very interesting read and I bet that Clio sounded awesome with ITB's.
  12. It was good to watch but I honestly didn't like the colour of that Zed.
  13. Very nice. Wouldn't mind one of those someday.
  14. This is true but then standard cars have their problems too and I know which I'd rather be driving.
  15. I take it you got 2nd in your class then? Gotta be happy with that for the first time out. Well done.
  16. Doesn't say "GT Edition" anywhere in the advert just "GT" which it is so I'm guessing someone just added the decals afterwards as they liked them. Look's pretty nice to me. I'm no 370Z expert though so let's see what the general consensus is.
  17. Got my fingers crossed for you. Never nice when things aren't quite running right. Good luck.
  18. Shouldn't be too hard to get a new turbo actuator though. Do you know what the turbo model number is? I'd have thought Abbey Motorsport should be able to help you out with this.
  19. Exactly my thoughts. Well done Andy.
  20. I hope not. From someone who has never done a track day, and still wondering if I should or not, this video has put me right off! As others have said this is not a normal track day. It was £35 pre-booked to get on the track for a 15 minute session and £40 on the day. This makes it a cheap affordable way to get on track which nowadays seems to attract a lot of chav type idiots and no holds barred wanna be racers. Back when I first started doing track days/action days like this in 1997 it was a lot quieter and safer with most people attending being fairly sensible. Heck when I first started doing it you didn't even have to wear helmets in tin top cars and you were allowed hand held VHS cameras the size of breeze blocks in the car. It's a shame really as these track/action days used to be a great way to get on track especially for beginners, amateurs or people who couldn't afford the more expensive track days. As Jetpilot/docwra & a few others have said the best way nowadays seems to be either on a club/forum arranged track day or the dedicated track days arranged by the circuits themselves or dedicated companies like MSV, Trackdays.co.uk etc. Link: http://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/castle-combe.htm Link: http://www.msvtrackdays.com/car.aspx They cost more money to do with prices starting from around £99 for a full day but most have an open pit lane policy and are much better managed.
  21. I've been to Japfest lot's of times and tbh I'm not a fan purely because it is so, so busy. It is a great event but one year it took me almost 2 hours just to get out of the car park which was pretty infuriating. You are right though I should really have booked some track time on the Zed dedicated sessions at Japfest as I know the drivers on that would have at least been a bit safer to be on track with. Quarry corner although the highest crash rate corner of any circuit in the UK (from what I gather) really isn't that bad imo providing you drive accordingly and do have a reasonable idea of car physics & racing craft. E.g: how weight shifts under braking, oversteer/understeer etc etc. The only time I've "almost" lost control of one of my cars on Castle Combe was at the newly developed "Esses" back in the late 1990's (possibly 2000) after they first changed the layout of the circuit to include the two chicanes (the Esses & Bobbies). I went in too fast & hard on the brakes which unsettled the cars back end, ...this then tried to overtake the front of the car but as it was a fwd car I kept my foot on the accelerator, corrected and was able to pull it straight. I did however sh*t my pants. I think everyone on here is right though as doing a dedicated track day with club/forum enthusiasts is definitely the way to go.
  22. Cheers Dunks it was actually good fun once I got some free space from the nutters. Little video below that CJRamze caught of my Zed on track from Quarry corner. Love the sound my car makes.
