By the looks of it that's a splined nut so technically it is a locking nut as you will need a specific socket to remove it/them. You could try removing them without the proper socket using the method in the below video although make sure you have some standard nuts to go back on in there place (or a new pack of locking wheel nuts which you have the key to). Contact one of the traders on here for locking wheel nuts to suit your Zed. I originally got my set from Mitz@the Cougar Store ~ £10 for 4 locking wheels nuts & the socket/key ..Or for possibly some on the same day you could try Halfords: http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-accessories/locking-wheel-nuts/mcgard-locking-wheel-nuts-24154su You can get splined nuts/bolts which have different numbers of splines so just count them up, ...yours look like they might be 6 spline. Pretty sure as long as you have the right number of splines for the size of nut then it doesn't have to be a specific name branded socket to work. Yep I agree with you that you really shouldn't have to start cutting into plastics etc. Just poorly designed by Tein imo. Try selling your Tein ones on eBay or something and then use some of the money towards a decent set from Steve@Redline Styling or Adrian@TORQEN. I do agree with you that the UK housing market is pathetic but I don't really believe you can't get a mortgage (unless your credit rating is f**ked in which case you shouldn't be able to finance a new car). Have you honestly looked into mortgages at all? Been to see various building societies/banks or mortgage brokers etc yet? My fiancees brother & his wife are trying to get their own home here in South Wales. Due to his wife (something to do with previous debts/bad credit) they cannot get a joint mortgage together so it will solely be on him. He is a low earner and in fact earns less than yourself ~ he doesn't have much in the way of savings either but after looking around was offered a 95% mortgage with a building society for £80K with himself having to stump up £4K for the house deposit. It doesn't give them a lot of scope for houses in their area at all but it's a start. When they eventually find a house they like it will be the start for them and hopefully 5+ years later they'll be able to move to a better size/nicer home. That's how it works, ...nobody moves into a 5 bed, detached house with double garage & a GTR parked outside when they're your age unless they're people from wealthy families, successful entrepreneurs/young business starters or Lottery winners (but I'm sure in your heart you know all that). Not being harsh just my 2pence.

Hello Scott, I'm pretty certain that's not how the Tein bonnet struts are supposed to fit. If I remember correctly they're supposed to mount more inwards, ...basically on top of the battery/brake fluid reservoir areas. Found a picture for you below. You could persevere with trying to fit the Teins which will no doubt need some modifications done to the car in order to fit especially on the brake fluid reservoir/battery cover surrounds where you'd need to modify the plastic cover surrounds for starters (I'm not sure whether there is a tapped hole ready for the Tein bolt either but I'd guess there probably is). If it was me I'd probably sell them on and just buy some more fit for purpose (less hassle) like the ones "Redline Styling" on here sell. Plenty of options available to you though if you do decide to change the whole front bumper or go down the route of adding some aero type parts (splitter/canards etc) in order to change the look. Tradelink and from there who knows? I kept checking on it and watched it sell for more money than I'd been asking for it on here (nature of the beast though) but obviously it's never surfaced on here. I did leave forum "spotted cards" in various places in the car as well but either when it was valeted they found them all (threw them away) or the new owner is not the sort of person to join car forums. Either way I hope it's in good hands & being enjoyed.

Plus one on all of that. I didn't want to sell my supercharged Zed last year but it was the right (sensible) thing to do. I now own my own spacious 3 bed semi with my Mrs, ...we're paying the mortgage together and it's a lot less than rent being charged in Cardiff for poxy 2 bed flats. I hanker for a nice car again but for now I must make do with what I have & save for a nicer car in the future. Good things come to those who wait.

Josh you're so close to R35 GTR money that for me, that's were I'd be aiming. My guess is the R35 will hold its value well (a lot better than some of the other suggestions made) and be easy enough to re-sell. Not to mention it is a massively capable car which is highly tune-able should you decide to modify it.

This unfortunately. Still though you can get the Zed to sound great imo. I used to love the noise mine made with Berks De-Cats, an Invidia Gemini true dual system and the Vortech supercharger. Brief outside sound of my Zed filmed by another member on here whilst I was on a Castle Combe track day. You can hear the noise it makes over everything else as I accelerate out of the corner & up the straight. Static rev up. Sounded at it's best though at full WOT going through tunnels.

I think I know the ones you're on about. The Berks De-Cats as I had those on my Zed. All Berks have done is have a slightly longer piece of metal for where the O2 sensors fit (doing the same job as the spacers mentioned by Jetpilot). Tbh Adrians statement below is probably the most truthful answer although some people do claim the spacers have worked for them. If you wanted to try the spacers I'm sure Adrian could get them for you or I know Clark Motorsport used to do them for around £12 each I believe. May well be wasted money though that could be better saved towards getting a proper UpRev (remap) done on your Zed which is what I'd do tbh.

Love the tyres Rory as cars like the Zed really suit wide rear tyres imo. One thing I do wonder though (and maybe Ekona can answer this or someone else more up on their tyres than me) with you having a 295 tyre shouldn't you have lowered the profile down to 30? Only reason I even question it is because I used to run with 245/35/19 up front and 275/35/19 on the rear which I was told wouldn't mess up my traction control system (it didn't). When I enquired (with an alloy wheel/tyre trader) about putting 285's on the rear instead of the 275's I'm pretty certain he mentioned that firstly I'd need 255's upfront instead of the 245's then but I would also need to bring the profile down to 30 as it is essentially an aspect ratio, so the width of the tyre directly effects the height of the side wall. Maybe it's different though if yours are 18's and it's still within the parameters that the TCS works in.
