  1. ^^ Just in case that was a typo Zimjason in your thread title if you want a Zed (Nissan 350Z) buyers guide it's here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77426-buyers-guide/ Lot's more info here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/18-350z-faq/
  2. An alternative to MPSS (in the sense that they are tyres as well ) that are fairly decent if you're looking at a slightly cheaper alternative are the Falken 453's imo. Ran them on my old Zed which wasn't standard by any means, was used on track & I never had any issues with the Falkens. Sure MPSS would have been better but for the price the Falken 453 is a good tyre choice imo.
  3. There are always other options. You could also try TORQEN, Tarmac Sportz, the Cougar Store etc. All in the professional traders section with others too. http://cougarstore.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_14 http://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/products.aspx?CategoryId=bd91a45f-0c79-4f9b-b7a5-67bba6937d96 http://www.torqen.uk/172-clutches?orderby=price&orderway=asc One kit suitable from Clark Motorsport that I know of: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/95545-new-xtreme-clutch-organic-inc-smf-350z-de/
  4. Yep and for £399 it's a bargain imo. That's only £7.98 per 1Bhp increase going from the maximum achievable figures (+50Bhp). Audi might not be so impressed though.
  5. Sorry to read about the little one Pete. I actually just came into this thread to post this short little video my Mrs showed me as I can't think of a better place to add it to on the forum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Rj8sdrCDY4
  6. Thanks Ballistic! Some would say baby R8? Well I wouldn't go that far, ...maybe the ba**ard offspring of an R8 or a brother from the same mother. Maybe get a Revo map to make it a little closer one day (once it's out of warranty & if this is for the correct model). 7. Looks great imo. Very aggressive looking front end. Enjoy the new ride.
  8. Moved to the "exhausts" section. Have a look around as plenty of threads about this supermondo. Does depend on your budget & what sort of sound/look you want with an exhaust so it is definitely a personal choice. Some info in this thread started the other day by another member regarding options: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/109599-infinity-exhaust/#entry1640407
  9. Well he's either a Skyrim fan in which case it means: Skyrim Perk Enhancements & Rebalanced Gameplay. Or more likely this: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Sperg

I know what you're doing Ian, ....you're playing real life Gran Turismo and trying to own all the cars in the game! Good luck with that.
  11. Olly I haven't seen how that silver ring goes on but does it have small tabs or something then? If this makes sense ~ You might have to cut your gear gaiter in the places where the tabs meet up to give it the room it needs to locate. I'm assuming the alcantara gear gaiter is thicker than OEM which is what's causing you an issue. I do agree with RS above though that you get so much satisfaction from doing these jobs yourself.
  12. See stuff like this Olly is why I'm more than happy to pay garages to work on my car for me most times. I mean I've work on loads of cars (my own & other peoples when I've worked in garages) but to quote Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon) "I'm too old for this sh*t!". Have you got it sorted now then?
  13. Well that's a good outcome then. Try finding a tunnel to drive through on full WOT and that'll really make you smile. Enjoy.
  14. Welcome aboard Scott. Lovely colour DC5. Good luck with your Zed hunt.

Looks great Ian. Hope you enjoy it.
  16. Good stuff Lyndzzz, ...not enough women on here imo putting their own spin on modding their cars. Yours is one of my favourites.
  17. Some more videos of my old Zed on my Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube....iZ6yuBPT99e4Niw My old build thread here: http://www.350z-uk.c...upe-vids-added/ Currently driving an Audi S3 Quattro: http://www.350z-uk.c...ew-german-whip/ I had the Invidia Gemini originally on my Zed with Berks HFC's (High Flow Cats) before the car was supercharged. The tone of the system was imo really nice & not too intrusive. I then moved on after my Zed was supercharged to Berks De-Cats with the Invidia Gemini system. This was on another level sound wise especially on WOT (wide open throttle). I wouldn't say it droned at all on the motorways but it definitely wasn't quiet. Everyone hears things differently though so if you can hear these exhaust systems in person before you buy then that is always going to be the best way but imo the Invidia Gemini coupled with the Berks HFC's is a very good exhaust system for the 350.
  18. Glad to see you're still here (well there) and having fun with the Zed mods still. Looks great.
  19. Imo you will not notice any throttle response difference between a s/s cone filter & a paper cone filter at all. Plus you will need a remap (UpRev) for it to make any performance increase on the Zeds engine anyway, ...most people who fit air induction kits and don't UpRev their Zeds afterwards have done it purely for an increase in induction noise & to give their car some engine bay bling. Personally I'd stay clear of the s/s cone filters because of there poor filtration ~ in other words, they aren't as efficient at stopping cr*p from getting into your engine as the alternatives. Up to you though and good luck with your search.
  20. Why do you want stainless steel fine mesh btw? I did have one years & years ago on an old car I had but after hearing/reading about the poor filtration of these types of filters I steered well clear of them from then on. Imo you'd be better off with a filter as davey_83 suggested or a paper type filter (K&N etc).
  21. This is what the OEM Nissan 350Z exhaust system looks like (DE variant). 1 & 2 are your "Cats" which are the first parts of the exhaust system bolted to the exhaust manifolds (one on either side of the V6 engine). They join onto number 4 which is your "Y-pipe" < This can have "flexi joints" which is what Infinity have quoted your exhaust starting from by the sounds of it. Number 6 is your centre section and finally number 8 your back box. The Invidia Gemini true dual exhaust system is a very good exhaust system. You get a lot of value for your money imo with that system: it is a "Cat to back" system and that includes replacing your Y-pipe with Invidias version that has sliding metal joints so no flexi joints to break/tear or corrode. It is a true dual system so both sides of the exhaust are kept separate from each side of the engine. It's actually what I chose for my own 2003 Nissan 350Z when I had it. Video below of mine but bear in mind the sound in person will be different & everybody hears differently plus I was running Berks De-Cats, oh & it was supercharged, ....but just to give you an idea.
